Fit is good. I wear a size 12, but for Asics I wear a 12.5. Comfortable shoe.

My husband liked them. Fit well and comfortable.

Didn’t last very long.

Narrow, which is fine for my feet. Cramped toe box. Cushiong hardens in about a year making them very uncofortable. Wore through toes in 2 years. All in all okay considering price, but longer lasting shoes abound for similar or slightly higher prices.

This is not a knock against Zappos, who are awesome. These are a replacement shoe for an identical pair from years ago. They are not made the same way anymore and are 99% plasti and the laces are very flimsy. Not exactly what I expected but suitable nonetheless. Go Zappos! Certifiably awesome company!

Pretty good shoe with thick soles. They squeek a little and grab small stones on walks, hence the reduced rating. Good for walking.

The toe box was too pointed for my foot.

I'VE OWNED OLDER VERSIONS OF THIS SHOE, AND WAS ALWAYS SATISFIED WITH WHAT I HAD PURCHASED. HOWEVER, THIS LATEST VERSION, THE GEL-VENTURE 8, LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED. IN STEAD OF HAVING STANDARD, HEAVY DUTY LACES, THEY NOW COME WITH CHEAP LITTLE LACES THAT ARE TOO SHORT TO GO THROUGH ALL THE EYELETS. WHEN I TRIED THEM ON, THEY SEEMED LIKE THEY WERE 1/2 SIZE TOO SMALL. THE INSOLES THAT WERE INCLUDED DO NOT SUPPLY ENOUGH ARCH SUPPORT. THE QUALITY OF THIS MODEL HAS CERTAINLY DIMINISHED. I DEFINATELY DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THE ASICS GEL-VENTURE 8 !

I don't understand how a 4E is not wide enough. I usually purchase the ASICS GEL-Venture 7, which fit perfectly, but are now not available in my size. Why can't a company standardize their own products?

These are good walking around shoes, however, I personally would not use them for serious hiking or off road as the lugs don't have much grip. I have owned several pairs of these and they are comfortable and add stability. I have one negative comment and it is a big one - they do not breathe at all. Living in a hot and humid climate, this is an issue if wearing them even for just a few hours (both inside and outside). I sometimes have to take them off for my feet to breathe. Even in winter, long walks and long wear results in very hot and sweaty feet. If you can tolerate that or find a way around it, the shoe is well-constructed and stable. I probably will not buy them again. As always, I appreciate the quality service from Zappos, particularly for VIP customers.

I've worn this shoe off and on for nearly a year now, and as much as they seem to be the right size, they always seem to be smaller the longer I wear them during the day. I know that sounds weird, but they start off feeling ok, but after several hours just seem smaller. Also the footbed is rather rather uncomfortable. I probably will not by ASICS again, and definitely not these.

I ordered 8.5 4E. The size indicated on the box is 8.5 4E but inside the shoe is 8.5 regular.
