the back of the heel on both shoes split so my feet come out of them when I walk. I only walk about 12 miles a week and for 3 months.

I am hoping they refund my money. I sent them back after two days/10 miles use BUT I don’t know if the problem was with me or with the right shoe. My first run in the 1080s was a four mile tempo run. The arch of the right shoe seemed to collapsed with each step. At first, it was subtle but the sensation got worse over time. I adjusted my gait to strike more mid foot and that helped but the more I ran, the more I feared my right ankle was going to roll. My second run was a five mile recovery run and I consciously compared the right and left shoe. The left was fine. The right arch was definitely collapsing. Again, I adjusted my foot strike and that helped but I can’t handle that feeling that may ankle is going to roll if my foot strength fails. I would try another pair but I can’t afford to risk another $150.00 to experiment.

UNCOMFORTABLE SHOE! I decided to give NB a try because this is supposedly a great shoe for people with narrow feet. I ordered the B width. The shoe fits fine, but it is one of the most uncomfortable running shoes I've worn since, well, the last pair of NB shoes I owned back in the 1990s. Those previous shoes were the only ones I ever owned that ripped my heals apart. These shoes, I feel pressure points on various parts of my foot which make me constantly aware of the shoes...not what you want in a running shoe. I should have just stuck with the Brooks Ghost or Nike Air Pegasus--two extremely comfortable running shoes that are less expensive than the 1080v11 and even the D width of those shoes fit my feet better than these NB shoes. I'm certainly never going to take a chance on New Balance shoes ever again.

The shoes were one size too small.

Year after year, version after version, I loved the NB 1080. Beginning with v10, NB ruined these shoes. I hoped that v11 would be better than v10, but nope. NB changed where the tongue attaches to the shoe, so it is higher up and runs across the bone on top of the foot. And the tongue seam is sloppy enough that it has the effect of leaving a ridge across that part of the foot, which is painful after a short time. Booooooo!

Seems that the room in the toe area a bit small. Not happy with that. Was going to return but your site says can not return if worn. Not happy about that also.

Not sure what NB did in the redesign of this shoe but it is absolutely HORRIBLE!. The heel box isn't deep enough to cover the heel at all. Your heel just flips right out. Maybe a little too much "fresh foam" and not enough depth to accommodate your heel. A real shame as I've been wearing them for years as my summer sneakers and the 990's as my winter sneakers. Would not buy again.
