The plastic heel cracked on this pair of 1080v11's after just a month of ownership. I'd think it was my fault or a faulty shoe but frankly NB needs to focus more on R&D and less on flashy marketing. I used a shoe horn to put the shoe on carefully every day after my experiences with the 1080v10 and yet i still heard that sharp crunch and now there's a sharp plastic shard poking my foot. Prior to the 1080v11 I had a few pairs of the 1080v11and the foam heel kept ripping apart. So I know it's not me, it's the product. I get it, NB had to redesign the 1080 series because the 1080v6-v9's were so durable that they needed to put out a product that would require the customer to buy the shoe more frequently. I'm sure NB will incrementally make the 1080's better until they decide on the next redesign but this will probably be my last pair. A $150 pair of shoes shouldn't break apart after a month.

I liked the old 1080's better than the v11. I have worn New Balance 1080's for years and loved them. I ordered a 10.5 2E. They seemed big. I re-ordered a 10 2E. They seemed small. Then decided to go to the NB store. Told the gentleman my Del I'm a. He suggested the 880v11 2E. Tried them on and bought them. These shoes were returned.

I thought I would be able to wear these everyday before the shoes broke downnot so. Alternative the shoes are comfortable it doesn't hold up very long. 6 weeks tops.

I have always loved the Fresh Foam 1080. It has marvelous cushioning and doesn't feel clunky on my small feet. However, sadly, this new version does not work for me. The lace box now starts about 1 cm further back so that my big toe joint doesn't get the support it needs. I have tried many other shoe brands (Brooks, Asics, Hoka) to find something that works but no luck. Finally, I found out about New Balance "More" which are pretty ugly (in my opinion) compared to the fresh foam 1080 but at least they work for now. I am definitely not a happy customer.

Lotta differences in the V11 and V10 - fit is different with softer mesh now, lacing has changed and having to use a runner's loop because laces now hit tendon at top of foot, seems less cushion, I get that they want to update but don't lose the good stuff - too late.
One pro - they look good - but having to adjust to a shoe that was perfect sucks.

I found that just walking my feet would come out of the shoe. No matter how tightly tied. I think it’s because the back is soft material.

Terrible. Awful. The most uncomfortable sneakers Ive ever worn. The back / heel of the shoe is a thin, elastic that provides no support at all. I guess this was thee cheapest option available, rather than construct a shoe that actually surrounds your foot. I can't stand them. It feels like I am constantrly falling out of my shoes. Like i'm earing open-back mules. Never again.

back of my shoes is damaged by just mild usage only for walking. I used total of about 20hrs on walking.
This is what I received from the customer support after asking for any replacement or compensation:
we are unable to offer compensation or a replacement, as glue and other materials used to construct the shoe can dry out and cause deterioration over time. It is advised that you replace your shoes every 6 months
They say you need to replace every 6 months!

All of the support is for the arch and nothing is for the heel whatsoever. This is the worst designed shoe, there's only fabric in the heel, nothing supports it.

This shoe is extremely uncomfortable due to the heel shape. It feels like my heel is pressed up against a wall while wearing, not cupped like it's natural shape. I'm very disappointed in my first new balance runner.

The short shoe strings make for a snug fit even tied at the very end of the string.

So I have to admit these are comfortable shoes! I have foot pain and never had much luck with shoes until I found these. With that said they both failed in under a year. The shoes look like new but the heal broke on both shoes. It feels like there's a internal plastic like support in the rear heal. It is completely snapped in half top to bottom in both shoes. My friend also bought these after my glowing recommendation and she too has the same issue. Not what I'd of expected from a pair of shoes in this price range. Had the shoes not prematurely failed they would of lasted me years! I am not very active and these shoes haven't seen any running. Still going to try another pair of the USA made line. For the comfort alone I have to stick with NB.

I really wanted a 2nd pair of the 840s I ordered at the same time but you only had 1 pair in my size 12.5 4E so I thought I'd try these out. After standing in them for 1/2 an hour my feet hurt so bad I immediately boxed them up and sent them back.

I was not pleased when I received my shoes. There was an excessive amount of glue visible around the soles of the shoes. I've never experienced that in the past, and especially with new balance shoes.

Lovely shoe however the measurement is not a B width. The shoe appears to have reduced the volume but still would create foot injuries by the poor fit that is compressed to keep your foot in place by being so wide.
Would be happy to be a guinea pig to measure my foot for a true b width for making a better shoe for narrow fitting runners.

Heel slips materially regardless of how you tie them. Sent them back the next day.

2nd pair of these... first pair were fine. The 2nd pair is a little odd. at the toe area of the shoe, one of the shoes caves in as if there isn't enough foam there or something...whereas the left shoe is properly cushioned. Also, this 2nd pair i bought seem to be a little less comfortable than the 1st.

Because of these shoes I felt slower, less comfortable, and my running times immediately went up. I'm very disappointed in these shows especially from a great brand like new balance. Hope they can do better and improve!-Lilly C

I have been running in New Balance 1080 for over 15 years. I have bought at least one pair a year during this time. 1080v11 started out very comfortable, however, the soles started wearing off after only 6 weeks of 5 miles per day. They are now useless for running. Past 1080 models had lasted an average of 6 months. New Balance had better correct this situation in future versions or I will be forced to change brands.

There's a line of stitches where the tongue meets the shoe and that was so tight the shoe didn't fit properly. The laces didn't even come together right. The shoe is narrow even as a wide. I tried a mens 10 4E. I ordered the same size in an 880v11 and it was perfect.
