I’m an avid runner and usually run in Nike and Brooks. I heard these were very comfortable for low impact miles. And guess what, they are. Wonderful in the treadmill and road. The foam is cushy and not still like other maximalist foam shoes. I look forward to many miles in marathon training with these. I usually where an 11, but went with the 10.5 in this shoe for a proper fit.

Have worn a size 12B since the original 1080 a decade plus ago - this is the first version that changed in size. Literally 0,5 to 1,0 size bigger than previous editions. Be aware if you a long time wearer of these. Otherwise this shoe is significantly more damped than V10 for what that is worth as not really slower on rebound. Have not had the issues with seams not achilles irritation of others. Despite what most think, having incredibly narrow feet and, especially ankles, have found this heel cup the absolute best design ever encountered in a running shore. Truly will miss it and wish could buy at least 4 pairs to back up. Run roughly 40 miles/week stand 6'4" and weigh 180.

I have never felt so much cushioning from a running shoe. I have knee arthrosis since 18 months . I have run on Asics Nova blast and was very much satisfied. Could not get the same shoes to replace my 7 monts shoes so I l start reading about the best shoes for knee arthrosis and the 10080 was at the top with the Clifton from Hoka. I picked the !1080 New balance and I discover an other level of cushioning. The best so far

The shoe is great, the only one that I found that fits my narrow size 14, but it has a flaw that a spy kills the shoe. The heel support snapped like hard candy on the right shoe after only a couple of months. I absolutely hate that I've found the perfect shoe and it turns out to have no durability. Completely unacceptable for this price point.

This is probably the 10th pair… I just follow the versions every 6 months replacement for my running shoes. If you’ve had plantar fasciitis before, these will prevent it from coming back!! I buy mens as I like a generous toe box….

I bought these because of all the shoes I tried on, these felt the best. Second place was the 880. The Heel: This is so frustrating. My heel slips around (vertically) in these shoes. Based on the reviews, this is a common problem. The tongue: For some reason, the tongue punishes the top of your foot. I had to loosen the laces completely to just reduce the pain. In order to try and reduce the heel slippage, I used the heel lock method. The laces included are very short and it is almost impossible to do this. Especially when you have to loosen the laces so they do not abuse the top of your foot. There in lies the problem, you can "heel lock" your foot in there but then the top of your foot will just hurt more. If you loosen the laces your heel will just slide more and blister. I hate that I am writing this review. I love how comfortable the sole of the shoe is. In the store, I did not notice the tongue hurting. But after wearing them it is a major problem. I cannot run in them because of the issues. These have basically become my shoes for inside the house and for trips to the store. That way I can keep them as loosely tied as possible. aarrrrrghhh! Advice: The sole is perfect and the styling is the best in the business. Please please please fix the heel and the tongue. ALSO, INCLUDE LONGER LACES SO WE CAN LOCK THAT HEEL IN!

Personally, I really hate when they take a proven shoe and change it - just for the sake of changing it. I have run in the V9 and V10 version of this shoe, and absolutely loved them. With this newest version, some things were arbitrarily changed - I've given this set 3 weeks, averaging 15 miles a week or so: - The upper is more rigid now, and now hits my foot at a weird spot, causing bruising. It's maybe just my odd foot shape, but the uppers on earlier versions were soft and I didn't have this problem. - The heel cup is considerably bigger, and even when lacing the heel lock, I can't get away from my heel slipping and the feeling that it is going to pop out of the shoe. Again, I can chalk it up to my weird feet, but the heel feels wider on this version than it did on earlier versions. Hence the "runs large" note on this review. - The laces! UGH! Some others have noted this as well, but I cannot keep these suckers tied, even double knotting them. I don't even know how you accomplish this little feat of engineering - NB has created a lace that won't stay tied, no matter what. I gave up and stripped the laces out of my last pair of v10's, problem solved. Some qualifiers here - I have a host of foot issues (high arches, not a neutral foot at all), and exceptionally narrow feet as well. These shoes were my haven, as they came narrow enough to fit, but also didn't aggravate all my other foot stuff. Sadly, that is no longer the case - 3 weeks in and I'm abandoning the v11's, they're causing more pain and issues than they're worth.

I am 44 years old, 5'8" tall and 165 pounds. I have run several half marathons. I have tried Asics, Nike, and lately New Balance. Put is simply this way: 1080V11 is the best running shoes I have ever had. This shoes is neutral, light weight, cushioned, durable, and for all terrains. Totally amazing! And made in USA!

My right foot is slightly bigger that my left and my big toe is scrunched at the front of the shoe. Never was a problem with any other 1080. I've owned like 8 diff pairs over the years. Why, I am forced to wonder? Oh, I ordered these online but looks like I will have to go into the store to try them on from here on out.

My feet suffer from a steep bridge on top and an arthritic/bunion joint on the left big toe. I usually purchase a full size higher to get adequate fit over these problems. But the shoe is usually too long and too wide. I get double wide already. The fully knit top of the 1080v11 and the fact that the laces start higher up the shoe make for a perfect fit. The arthritic joint does rub and is not compressed by the outline of the laces. I am able to go down a half size, but they still feel like slippers. Will purchase another pair after I complete this review.

Fantastic shoes. great quality. I got red, and it's great. dirt washes off easily to allow colours to stay at almost full vibrance. New Balance customer service is unlike anything I've ever seen before. they are absolutely amazing. very timely, and ridiculously helpful. shoes are very confortable, especially for a wide foot. the material at the back of the shoe is very nice, it has the support of a normal shoe, but its thinner, and it will never wear. previous shoes always got holes in the back from the occasional time I slipped my foot in without untying, but these will never have that problem.

After several months of post-surgery physical therapy, I purchased these shoes in hopes of returning to running six days a week. Unfortunately after three months of walking, the heel foam has broken down causing excessive pressure on the mid-foot where my incision is. The shoe has a significant curvature adding to the pressure on the peroneal tendon areas. These shoes have less than 200 miles of walking and they're ready for the trash. Poor design. Poor quality.

Due to isolation because of Covid, I am doing 90% of my walking in our open concept Condo unit on wood flooring. +ves 1. they are very comfortable over the top of arch and toes. 2. the 'heel elf-tab' is certainly necessary to pull shoe on. - ves 1. the new tongue design restricts foot entry into shoe. 2. they are not as soft on my feet a my 'old' 1080s. 3. they are much noisier on the floors; sound like hard plastic compared to the 'soft' rubber feel of the older design. 4. laces are at least 10" too long. Overall -they are the most disappointing shoes I've had and I've been wearing NB since 1980.

The appearance makes you think that its very Foamy and comfortable, it's not. It's rock hard on the heal and entire foot. The branding "Foam" and the appearance with thick white sole is totally misdirection. You might like it for your own purpose, but I feel its deceptive.

Shoe is comfortable but the toe box needs to be widened . The insole needs be updated for health issues such as Metatarsalgia and Planter fasciitis. No problem with durability as of yet, that is with them being used as work shoes walking 10 to 15 miles per day.

I love new balance shoes, and I own many pairs. However, I have purchased three pairs of the 1080s and every single one of them had the "adaptive heel" crack. This makes the shoe fit much looser than it should and feel like it is going to slip off while running. I really want to like these but this one issue makes them pretty much unusable. Buy the 880s instead. But serious New Balance, fix this.

The narrow B size was extremely tight over the arch and impossible to accommodate orthodics. Had worn a previous 1080 version for many years with no problems - this version has undergone a major change in the "last" which is unacceptable in terms of comfort.
