Shoes look great on-once you can get them on! Much harder to get on than the toddler version. Loved them until a hard afternoon of playing left blisters on the insides of his feet in don't know if that's because they're too big or because of the fit of the shoe. My little guy wanted to keep wearing them, so I guess that tells ya something. I just wish they came in 1/2 sizes and were as easy to get on/off as the toddler sandals. There is no way my 3 year old could do it on his own. We'll keep wearing them this summer, hopefully these are the last blisters he gets. If not I guess we will return them.

This is my daughter's second pair of Keen Newport H2 sandals. We bought the opaline green this summer as a change from last summer's crocus. I knocked off a star this year because my daughter got small blisters on the soles of her feet near her big toe. This did not happen last summer in spite of frequent wear in and out of the water. The price also went up as we moved from an infant size to toddler/walker size 8. Also, the toddler size is more difficult to get on than the infant sizes--requires a bit of wrestling on mom's part to get the shoe on her foot. All that said, we still like the fact that they are machine washable and protect her toes. Don't know if we will purchase this style again next summer though, but we remain loyal Zappos customers!

I love the resilience of Keens. My son gets 2 pair per spring/summer season. He wears them everywhere to do everything. When they're dirty, we hose them off or toss them in the wash and they're as good as new. They do run very wide, especially in the toe box, so they aren't good for kids with narrow feet, including my daughter.

These look cute and I like how sturdy they are. My son is almost three and he can run around in these all day. My son loves these once they are on...they are a little tricky getting on and off though.

I always get my son a pair of Keens every summer. I like that the toe is covered, perfect for the toddler years. These arrived very quickly. The color and size were true to the description.

Got these for my 3-year old because I love Keen. Pluses: They're vibrant, sturdy, and wrap around the front of the foot to limit rocks/wood chips on the playground. Only negative is I find 'em just a little tricky to put on. But they're great and we get compliments on them.

This shoe smells horribly! my son has previously worn the TEVA sandals similar to this and they never smelled. These shoes definitely do not work in keeping the smell away!

Great looking shoe. Unfortunately, my two-year-old kicks and cries when I go to put these on. My guess is that they hurt his feet in some way. I aim to try them again in a few weeks. Hopefully, he won't have outgrown them.

Zappos had the shoe in stock and it came in a day! The shoe is a rugged shoe. It is great for little kids who want to wear a sandal but don't want to stub their toes.My son loves these shoes, but it is sometimes hard for him to get them on himself. Once they are on they are a great fit, but they do not loosen up easily for a little person (he's 4) to be independent. The do loosen for a bigger opening, but it is actually a little complicated for a 4 year old with a strap and a tightening bungee clasp.

The shoes are great and high quality. We get them every year for our active kids. The issue this year is the top strap barley makes it across and so little velcro touches that the strap continuously comes undone.

These shoes are awesome and this particular style is what my 4 year old is wearing. We've probably been through 5 or 6 pairs over his 2 years of wearing them (not because they wear out, just because his feet grow so quickly). They wear amazingly well and we've set every pair aside for his younger brother to eventually wear. I like that this style has velcro. My son can easily get them on/off by himself. Perfect for warm weather; practicality of a sneaker with cooling effect of a sandal. Only reason I give them 4 rather than 5 stars is that I think the price is extremely high for a shoe that is made in China.

My son absolutely loves these shoes. They are the perfect combination of shoes and sandals. I do wish that the velcro straps had a little extra length.

Wish it came in a wide width - My 5 year old loves this shoe, as he is required to wear closed toe and heel shoes to school but it is hot where we live. He does have very wide feet, so I bought a 1/2 size larger than he normally wears. They are still a little bit tight and leave marks on his feet, but overall no complaints as it's a great shoe for wearing to the beach and to school.

Toddler Newport H2 - We almost did not buy them because of the reviews but they are as good as any other Keen Toddler we have ever had. They are rugged, good looking and comfortable. I ordered them for one grand son but when my other daughter saw them, she snatched them for her son. We had to order another pair. Excellent product!

Once I got these on my 4 year old’s feet they seemed to be the right size, but it was extremely difficult to get them on his feet because the opening is not flexible. It hurt his feet to get into them, and he would never have been able to get them on or off himself. I returned them.

Strap to zip tie broke within 1 week. Hoping for an exchange

First Keens. Overall the kid loves to wear them. The strap/velcro mechanism can be a little more kid friendly. If they pull the strap off, a parent/adult will need to put it back. Single strap mechanism would be helpful. The shoes would smell on sweaty feet although they advertise as odor less.

I love Keens as a summer staple for my kids, but this style does not for my child with a high instep. The opening of this shoe just doesn't go wide enough for him to easily take them off/on, and they leave marks across the top of his foot. Would be great if these came in wide, as well.

Unfortunately these shoes gave my child blisters on his ankle, so we will have to find a different summer shoe. The shoes are well made but they come up too high on the sides around the ankle.

I was looking forward to get them, with all the positive reviews, but at the end was disappointed. They look and feel very bulk. My 5 year old cannot put them on by himself and when I try to do it, I can barely do it myself because they are very tight fitting. We’ll be getting lighter summer shoes...

We love Keen shoes for our 4 year old son -- he has worn them since he was 18 months. I will steer away from this style in the future specifically because of the strap. It is not long enough to go over my son's foot through the loop and back again to the Velcro. If the strap were an 1 inch longer, they would be perfect. If your son's foot is long and thin near the ankle, then these shoes will be great.
