Used on my last flights cross-country as my carry-on. It's durable and flexible. I know I'll be using and loving it in the future too. Love the color. Cat approved. 2 bummers: 1) Aesthetic - Since it arrives all folded in on itself, it became really wrinkly and those have not eased out even with stuffing it and being stacked on other luggage. 2) Function - Wish there was a cross strap, in addition to the backpack straps.

Context:
I'm 5'6" and am a smaller light build human with a short torso and not much muscles. Bought it for a 3-week trip to Japan. I started my trip with it full but not STUFFED.
Why I bought it:
I wanted a duffle over a hiking, travel backpack or standard carry-on luggage because it looked less overtly touristy.
Also the handle on the top for holding it upright on trains. The side handle for more stable hand carrying and backpack straps to make it easier to move through japan train station which are mostly stairs.
Ended up also being good for 3/4 days at walk-in campsites/yurts in the PNW and at music festivals. It fit my camping gear well.
My pros:
- Worked as a carry on my international flight to Japan and domestic flight to LA, both delta in 2022.
- The shoe compartment. Also great for dirty laundry.
- Slimmer side profile than the other duffle backpacks.
- Material is sturdy and pretty much waterproof with flaps over zipper.
- That it's packable (case is actually the shoe compartment, you flip it kind of inside out and stuff the pack into it). Good for taking up less space in my tent after unpacking my gear and also switching into a different luggage once I bought too many things while in Japan.
My cons:
- long on my back, would work better on a taller or long torso human.
- Not much padding on the backpack straps, not wide enough, shape not ergonomic. Dug into my shoulders, became quite uncomfy since my pack was on the heavier side cause i used compression cubes to get more clothes in. Probably would be less uncomfortable on people with a large, or more athletic build or who packed less?
- lack of back/shoulder comfort makes it unreasonable for me to carry for more than 30-60 min depending on weight.
- no side water bottle holder
In the end I still like it and use it. I want to buy the 32L since it will work better for my body size but am unsure it would still fit my camping gear and that has ended up being it's regular use.

The only thing I don't like about it is there are no elasticized pockets on the side for water bottles, but I guess you can't have everything

Purchased 2. well designed and clever reversible bag turns into its own pouch. But a little heavier than ideal in an age of limited airline bag weights

Bought this a year ago. Used as carry on to bring back delicate items and as an auxiliary bag. Handles 90% of travel scenarios very well. Go for a bigger size if your laptop is bigger than an air.

This would be 5 stars except that when walking longer distances (e.g. through the airport) with a fully packed bag as a backpack I got uncomfortable, my shoulders were not happy- the straps don't distribute the weight super well. Otherwise I love this bag! The compartmentalization is perfect: not too many pockets, just the right amount.

Just wish the laptop sleeve was a little bigger and there was a convenient way to store the carry handles

Perfect for carry on travel. Would be 5 stars if there was a way to store the side handles and if the laptop sleeve was a little bigger. Otherwise an absolutely fantastic bag!

Good product and seems to be pretty high quality material. Loss of star for it not having a across the should strap and only the backpack straps.

Slightly smaller than expected but with all the compartments it is a reliable bag. On top of the multiple ways it can be cared from point A to B.

Great backpack for a weekend trip to use as a carry-on bag! I used it for a 3-day trip for a conference and it was tight but I fit everything in it. I love that there is a compartment for shoes. Very helpful!

Great duffel
Used it to fit 3 days of clothes along with 2 pairs of shoes (if you know how to pack well)
Perfect for carry on luggage

Great bag with shoulder straps. Could be a few inches bigger but overall it is a good bag.

I needed a heavy duty, oversized bag to act as an all arounder: something that can handle work on the farm (competitive horse stable), and double as a diaper bag for my two boys, who often also need a change of clothes, or two. This bag fits just about everything I was looking for, and is still a good size to carry as a backpack, without looking like I'm about to summit Mt. Everest. It seems very durable, and I'm extremely happy with my decision! The only thing I wish, and my reason for deducting a star, is that it had a few more interior zipper pockets for small items, but that's far from a deal breaker

Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good. It collapses into a smaller packable bag, it fits all the stuff I need for a 2 week trip. However, there's no over the shoulder strap and the formless structure of the bag can make it a bit awkward to put on your back. Overall, gonna keep it, but I might've just bought a dedicated over the shoulder duffel instead.

I was between this bag and the Patagonia black hole in the similar size. After some back and forth, I pulled the trigger on this bag because of the laptop sleeve.
I've used this bag for a few camping trips already and plan to use it again tomorrow for a short two night trip. Upon unboxing this bag, I was struck by the beautiful color and the small size it was rolled into (it's own bag!). It was easy to unpack and I love the variety of pockets that are included. The detachable/customizable divider is also great, as it can be put into the bag in a few different ways and laid down for storage, or if it's not needed. This bag is easy to pack, adjusts to size based on how you fill it, and the number of handles on it make it super easy and convenient to pick up and throw around in any number of ways.
My only complaint about this bag is that the backpack straps tuck into the top of it, so when it's empty and you're trying to pack it up, the lid forces the whole bag to fall over, rather than sitting flat while you pack.

I was torn between this bag and the similarly sized one from Patagonia. After going back and forth, I decided on this one because of the laptop sleeve which I feel would really come in handy.
Upon receiving this, I was surprised by how small it can fold up into itself, even with the fairly firm backpack straps. However, I haven't been able to get it back into that shape again, though I'm sure that I could with the help of YouTube.
I have taken this on two trips so far and love the variety of ways you can carry it/pick it up, which makes dealing with it super easy. The divider inside is also really great because it is soft and detachable. You can place it in two different locations, or lay it down flat to store it. You can cram this thing full without struggle.
The only thing I don't like about this bag is that because the backpack straps tuck into the top of the bag, the top is very heavy and will tip the bag over unless it is completely full. So when you are packing your bag, it is slightly annoying... I wish the straps were on the bottom. Otherwise, great bag!

I can't give it a perfect rating cause it's missing a few add-ons I would've liked to see:
- A long duffel bag strap to carry over the shoulder more comfortably.
- Keep the water bottle pocket from the 32L bag.
- Add a cross buckle strap connected to the backpack straps across the chest.
- To detach or shorten the carrying handles so it doesn't look/feel awkward while carrying like a backpack.

As soon as I opened the box I was impressed with this new duffel bag. The material is lighter weight than the standard base camp duffels and has a softer feel, but I don't think durability will be an issue. It seems really well built just like the rest of TNFs travel bags. I like the interior organization panel that can be attached in two different places to change the size of the interior compartments.
Im using this bag right now to carry my mountain biking gear to the trailhead. I can hold my medium size hip pack, knee pads, helmet, sunglasses, a light jacket, and nutritional stuff in the main pocket, with two water bottles and my shoes in the exterior pockets. Even with all of that, there is still some extra room in case I don't want to drive in my riding clothes.

The bag seems well constructed with quality fabric. I like the padded bottom (instead of just one layer of fabric like a lot of bags I looked at) and the interior divider to keep clothes from shifting around too much while being carried in different orientations.
