I finally went back to a pole tent instead of the ones that auto go up/down and couldn't be happier. This thing is reliable and won't break down easy on me like previous tents. More room than I expected too. One negative is a i wish the floor was the tarp floor so that it was stronger and didn't need the floor mat.

The bar was high. 8 incident free years camping with a pair of REI Basecamp 6 tents. We spend 6-8 days on the Lake Michigan shoreline. We've experienced sustained winds of 30-40 mph and torrential rains. Bad equipment decisions can ruin your week. We introduced the Wawona 6 this year. I'll share some comparative notes
- set up was a breeze - prob 20 minutes to get it staked down - guylines included
- tent poles are rigid and more robust than the thinner, REI poles. We never have had an issue with the REI poles but I suspect the TNF poles provide better structural support.
- Space; like the Basecamp 6, you will find it cramped to fit 6. 4 is a good number. 2 is great. Now - the BIG difference is the massive vestibule and generous clearance in the Wawona that set this apart from the Basecamp.
- Comfort; another positive feature for us is ventilation. The Wawona "breaths" so much better. Single walled and many more vents.
- Utility; With the vestibule the TNF tent wins. Both have ample storage pockets within.
- Weather resistance; both tents are outstanding. You can't go wrong with a well-made geodesic dome design. We've camped with others who've used top of the line Sierra Designs, Big Agnes and Eureka tents. They look nice but don't hold up the same in in-climate weather.
- Overall..we are impressed. This tent delivered on it's first test. We will see if it holds up long term!! Happy camping!!

I have 3 kids under 12. This roomy beast allows ample room for fidgeting and fuss between 2 girls and a boy. Get out on rainy days...? or hang in the vestibule and dodge downpours. Need to cook for the day's adventure, or after a long day afield? Rig a picnic table under or nearby and get it done with shelter outside your tent's sleep space.

This Tent is huge and you feel at home inside the tent. The quality of the material is impressive. I tried the tent under the rain and it passed water proof test.

Absolutely fantastic tent used it this weekend and easily set up and broken down. So many pockets and other features for cross breeze and privacy. Wish I would have taken better pictures but I was impressed but the view I woke up to

Theres almost nothing I dislike about this tent. After several uses I love it and only have a couple minor cons to consider.
- Sturdy - This tent has large diameter strong poles that when combined with the numerous guy lines around the tent make it bomb proof in even the windiest summer thunder storms.
- Spacious - There is plenty of room for a 6' tall person to stand in most of the tent as well as in the vestibule. Not to mention the massive floor space and huge vestibule which is perfect for storing all the gear you could possibly need, or even waiting out a storm with several chairs and a cooler. Also, the vestibule is big enough for a bike or 2, either for storage or maintenance.
- Multi Season Weather Proof - Being in dryer climates out west, I really appreciate the taller tub walls on 3 sides of the tent which help keep out all the fine dust that tends to find its way into most tents. However, with multiple pop open vents on the rain fly and 2 sections that unzip and roll up entirely you can still get plenty of airflow during hot days and nights.
Cons
- Stakes - The tent comes with 12 stakes which seems like a lot, but i would recommend getting several (at least 4) extra. During windy summer thunderstorms being able to tie down every corner and all the guy lines always makes me feel better, especially if I'm going to be leaving the tent to climb or something.
- Stakes Required For Vestibule - With so many other great features is a worthy trade off, but you have to be able to tie down the vestibule/secure it to something, otherwise it'll just flop around and turn into a kite.

Love the garage in the tent! We were in the lake and had two of these tents up and neither had any water leak! Great quality!

Awesome quality, appearance, and functionality. Took 2 people about 15 minutes total to set up on our very first try. Very spacious - for someone over 6 feet tall this is very comfortable. Super happy I purchased this and will be taking it all over.

Sturdy tent was able to setup within 10-15 mins and wrap up with in 10 mins. Two people are recommend for setup but a single person can setup without any issue. Was able to withstand wind and weather. Perfect size for a family of 3-4 with 1-2 kids. I recommend to buy the foot print although it doesn't cover the entire vestibule.

A formidable fortress, a roomy abode, and after four decades of searching, my favorite tent. Loved the V1.0 so much I just picked up the newer version. TNF has tamed the difficulties with setting up V1.0 and improved the design by going with a rain fly attached to the vestibule. I'm 6'6" and have easy headroom. I use a queen air bed and there's plenty of extra room. For me the best part, what sets this tent apart, is the front vestibule. It's brilliant, spacious and tall. Shrugged off thunderstorms & snow squalls and kept comfy down to 20F. Love it!
O.K. it's huge. Not for everyone. But if a bomber base camp with high comfort is your goal check out this bad boy.

We love our new Wawona 6P!! I am 6'5" and beyond elated that I can mostly stand up in this tent. We have a queen cot along with 2 full sleeping pads for the kids and everything fits wonderfully. The quality is superb and we know we will have this tent for over a decade. We only wish the vestibule floor was not exposed, but it is quite large and fit 6 bikes for overnight storage. A+ Northface!

My fiance and I have had this tent for a little over a year and have no issues with it. It has kept us dry in the rain, blocked moderate wind and made every camping trip great. The large vestibule is an amazing design (something I was specifically looking for). When it rains, we just put our full size folding table and chairs in the vestibule, listen to some music and have food and drinks laid out on the table. It's done a fantastic job keeping us dry and away from wind every time we used it. The vents at the top keeps us dry when it rains but allows for adequate ventilation and all the storage you can use inside is unmatched. Lastly, it usually takes us between 5-8 minutes to put up but we take our time and it is extremely simple to put up with the color coded sleeves. I would recommend this for anyone camping with a small family. The only "downside" I see with this tent is that it does take 2 people to put it together.

I have only used this once so far for backyard camping with three kids, but the setup was very easy and straightforward. It could probably be done with one person, but a second person to help with getting the poles into the grommets is definitely easier. There was plenty of space to stand up inside and the tent walls are nearly vertical, maximizing space. Plenty of room for 3 kids and myself (5'10"), but 6 adult would be tight. The tent packs away easily into the storage bag, but is heavy. I wouldn't recommend hiking a long distance carrying this, its meant for car camping and not packing/carrying miles down a trail.

Did my research so I knew what would best serve our small families needs and what to expect. Its exactly how I thought it would be minus the the minor shortfall on the vestibule length in front. Very solid and roomy.

Great product for car camping and long term camping. I love how roomy it is and the large vestibule. The only thing I wish could be improved is the windows being able to close from the inside.

We are amatuer astronomers and astrophotographers. We modified the large vestibule with a zippered opening (4' x 4') at the top of the fly that perfectly accommodates a large telescope! This has provided enormous advantages in comfort, shelter from the wind and rain, and equipment security. We now have a mobile observatory with sleeping quarters!

Tent camping in Alaska isn't ideal due to bears and excessive rain. We bought tent this to take on McNeil River Bear Viewing trip. Living among grizzlies for 4 days with a bear expert may change our minds. We will not be in an enclosed camp ground either. It will be very exciting and we are looking forward to it. This tent has a vestibule, is very wind resistant and waterproof. it should work well/
