I use them plane train trail rain. I'm in Norway now. Whole day up and down mountains in the rain and they stayed dry and performed great. They are a little bit wide in the toes which is good for wiggle room. This is regular size not wide.

I bought these as a replacement for my old farm shoes and I haven't looked back since I would rate these a 9.9/10 my only complaint is the top lace hook is a little difficult to get the lace into at times as its a bit snug I found, will be buying a second pair

This is my 5th pair of these shoes. Protects my ankles and keeps my feet fry. Enough said.

They fit perfectly, are so comfortable, the grip is incredible, they're warm for the winter but light enough that you can comfortably use them on chilly, wet summer hikes too. I could go on and on.

Took a chance buying these boots without trying on first and was not disappointed. Break in was quick, and very happy with them so far. Salomon never disappoints

I have never got a pair of shoes from online. The size fit just right. I was preparing to hike the Blue Ridge mountains. I do not want any blisters. These boots are very comfortable and though lightweight they are very sturdy. So far no blisters. I hight recommend these to anyone.

Been wearing mine for a month now, feels really good. Lightweight without sacrificing rigidity. 5-Star boot for medium duty.

Bought the non wide version as I usually don't need wide shoes but they squeezed my toe box area to much and could tell they were going to hurt my feet so I sent them back and got the wide version of the same shoe and they feel great. After a day or two of wearing them they have become even more comfortable! Liking them a lot so far. Using them most everyday on the farm.

After a wet fortnight in Scotland where both pairs of boots I own failed miserably to keep the water out, I did a bit of research and ordered a pair of X Ultra 4 mid Gortex boots. I normally wear a size 8 shoe and as Salomon suggest sizing up I ordered a pair in 8.5. They were very quick on delivery (3 working days) and we'll packaged. They look really well made, I can't find a fault on them, not a single mark, missed stitch or glue mark so I guess they were inspected before boxing. They are incredibly light on your feet, more like running shoes than boots, and have been comfy and flexible from the start. Going up the half size was definitely the right thing to do. Ive only done a couple of walks so far, and not in the soaking wet conditions I had in Scotland but they feel great with flexibility and support where you need them. I can't comment on their durability or waterproofing yet but the 2 year guarantee was definitely a deciding factor when buying them. Looking forward to many miles on the trail.

My son is 21 and he does quite a bit of hiking. Breaking them in now and so far so good. He loves the fit and they are way lighter than his last pair of Merrells.(Not bashing Merrell)

Wanted some truly lightweight, comfortable, hikers for (forestry) work use and day walks with a bit of feel to them (not too rigid) - and these are they! Time will tell re longevity but the moulded construction looks solid enough for what I'll be doing in them and suspect they'll be good for a 2-3 years which is fine by me. I can definitely confirm the boot reviews saying how comfortable they are straight out of the box - it's really quite impressive! Ordered my regular shoe size and they fit perfect, I have quite wide feet but went for regular rather than the wide fit option and they feel great not particularly narrow as frequently referenced elsewhere with Salomon footwear. Great stuff!!! Try them - you will probably like!

Awesome performance in the rocky and rough desert mountains of Arizona. Great grip and support while keeping my feet cool.

I've been wearing a few of these each year for the past 3 years. They feel like slippers but with the support we expect from Salomon. I walk my Lab 70-80 km's a week with these bad boys. Spectacular hiking and general walking boot!

I have been using this shoe for hiking purposes for the last two years. Great support. Takes a lot of tension from the feet. My go to hiking shoes for evrry terrain there is.

Amazing. The grip, support and protection of hiking boots but the comfort and lightness of a trainer.

I purchased these for the features and the appearance. I was very pleased with the appearance when they came in. Even though these are "soft" boots, I was expecting a break in period. I have to say that these were very comfortable for me right out of the box.

Great foot structure, fits snugly at my size. great traction on differing surfaces. Looks snazzy! Great buy, I would recommend this shoe to a tone interested in hiking, especially fast hiking, or who just want a decent low boot that offers way more than a sneaker or shoe. I bought the GTX version and it's not too hot in the summer.

I borrowed my buddies for a tough hike and the most comfortable, waterproof, speed boot I've ever experienced. Buying my own now!

Comfortable right out of the box. I hiked 7 miles over rough terrain and the boots did great. There was no break in period either. Mud, snow, rocks No problem

This is the best boot I have had. It is light weight and yet very sturdy and supporting. I have done long hikes in Yellowstone, Tetons, Yosemite, Sedona, and more. Hiked through streams and worn swimming in rock rivers. It is also so light that I use it for walks in inclimate weather.

I've just completed a trek in Nepal, compared to my old trekking boots, these Salomons are: -featherlight - very stable I've needed extra ankle support in my old trekking boots for not snapping my ankle, it never happened with these boots: next to that: hardly any sliding in difficult terrain. Happy with these boots.
