I loved the Ride 3's, but I love the 4's even more. Super light, but well cushioned. This is my do-everything shoe.

I've been running in the updated Sense Ride 4 for about a month now and have been very impressed with the changes. I typically use it for trail runs in the hills of the Front Range and have used it on snowy, as well as dry rocky trails but not much mud. It's a shoe that tends to disappear once you put it on, which is exactly what I look for in a shoe. The shoe feels roomy without being sloppy, and it provides amazing protection without losing responsiveness. They felt great right out of the box, fit true to size, and was able to run 20 miles without issues.

I have taken this shoe on all types of terrain whether it be loose gravel, mud, puddles or technical terrain this shoe handled it all with no problem!I also like the fact that I can run a half of mile of road before I get to the trail. You will not regret buying this shoe.

The Sense Ride 4 fit is spot on and it feels great right out of the box. The upper is a bit stiff, but after a couple of runs that is no longer an issue. This is not a max cushion shoe, but is just enough for really any distance. I see where some are having trouble with the "lace garage", but honestly it isn't that hard to figure out... so I'd probably disregard that if it is putting you off. I put about 40 miles per week in this shoe and then switch to the S/Lab Ultra 3 for my weekend long runs, but this shoe could easily be your everyday workhorse!

I was patiently waiting for these to drop as I couldn't find a new pair of 3s anywhere in my size. I bought a 10.5 which is what I've owned in the SR2 and SR3. The fit is more similar to the 2 (big) but the 10.5 still fits with some room for the feet to swell Lon longer days. A little uncomfortable at first but after about 20 miles they broke in really nice and now I'm doing 4+ hour runs with ease, which is really saying something for me because my feet usually get sore. Mine did the clicking for a little right off the bat, but once they broke in that went away. Also my lace loop has not torn yet. However mine did tear in my SR2 at one point and I just sewed it back on... Overall a great upgrade for me. It's lighter, the heel fits really nicely, super comfy, and the new colors are pretty dope. Also, they breathe so much better than the 3s which would make my feet sweat like crazy even in the winter. I live in Moab so most of my trails are rocky desert.

Been waiting for these to get in stock for a while so. They felt good right out of the box. Super locked in the heel and the rest of the shoe almost feels like wearing a sock. Sole is very grippy and I'm sure they will be awesome when I get them off the road. They seem pretty light to me but I'm also used to wearing Salomon's heavier boots and shoes. I experienced no "clicking" like some of the other reviews.

Wonderful shoe! I am so happy with this product which honestly surprised me a bit. I wasn't expecting to like it this much. It is light and agile, firm yet flexible, and that optivibe is oh so nice. Took it out of the box on a 14miler here in the PNW and it performed flawlessly. Nice and breathable upper which sheds water quickly(I'm a run straight through the puddle type). Super stoked on this shoe and I can from an Altra background for the past 3 years. Surprisingly comfortable for what I'm used to and no issues with the toe box, or any of it, being too narrow and tight. I'll be back for sure.

Nice shoe, pretty comfortable, but the the lace system is not great - the pocket where you're supposed to tuck the tab of the laces (after pulling tight) is too low down on the tongue, so that you have to pull hard up on the tongue when you're putting the laces on just to be able to tuck them away (otherwise unless you have really wide feet you'll have a laces tag thing dangling. Also visually they are a little too "hiking boot" for my taste. Going with Brooks Divide 3 instead.

I had the previous generation of the SenseRide in Navy Blue with an orange sole and it was amazing. So comfortable, very supportive for all day use and lasted a very long time indeed! This new generation looks great and feels very good so far but is very squeaky. If you read other reviews you will see I am not the only one who states this. I am 6'3" and 275lbs. My hope is that this model will not be discontinued and that more care will be but into the manufacturing process to make this a quieter shoe. Not good if you need to get close to wildlife. We shall see how this version wears and if it gets quieter but I have concerns.

Very light shoe! Too early to tell if it’ll withstand trail running but it should do better than a traditional runner for sure. It looks and fits great. True to size.

I will start with yes my pair does have the popping sound. Seems to be around the front inner area. With that said I only use these shoes for my running/Spartan races so either it's not happening or don't notice. I bought these wore them for 4 days walking the kids to park and little things (noticed popping) then went straight into the big bear 21k Spartan race. 0 issues super comfortable 0 blisters. I was really worried about running the race since I didn't do a proper break in but once again Salomon amazes with the comfort and reliability.

I worn these numerous times in the past month hiking and walking the dog. I really like them for fit, cushioning, traction and weight. The big annoyance is that they make an audible click like noise with every step. It appears the noise is coming from the fabric between the toes and the lacing area. It seems like the fabric is too stiff so it bunches as it flexes.

Purchased these shoes for a long distance training shoe. Overall, I'm happy with the fit and comfort. They are offer good traction, though are a bit on the heavy size.

Great shoe, just wish the quick lace would tuck easier into the pocket. When the shoe is tight it is difficult to put the quick lace into the pocket. Besides that 10/10

I live in a rocky desert and this shoes feel great even in sharp rocks. They got damaged in 2 or 3 moths but non other model have survived more than that. This are my training and races to go shoe.

After 75 technical miles on these shoes over sharp rocks and boulders here in the Utah mountains, the sole has cracked in one place. It's not a huge deal and I'll probably use some type of shoe goo to glue it down. They are comfortable and I'm reasonably satisfied with their quality.

On easy trails these shoes are great. I've found that on more technical / rocky trails they lack stability in the upper portion. Other Salomon shoes have more support to help avoid rolling ankles. Fit true to size and good for long miles on easy trails. Bought a second pair already for RRR100.

I've never gone trail running in my life but these shoes made for a very enjoyable experience. Although I'm more of a soft and plush cushioning type of guy, I did not mind the firm midsole cushioning at all. I went with a size 8, which is the size for all my other shoes and it fit nicely with just a bit of wiggle room for my toes. One complaint I have is that there is this slight clicking noise that appears with every step I take. However, the sound of my footsteps and gravel as I'm running drown out this noise, so it really isn't that noticeable. All in all, a super awesome shoe!

Really happy with the updated fit of the upper and heel cup. It's hard to tell but the midsole might be a bit softer as well. I end up using this trail shoe for most everything and performs well wherever it goes. In scree or sharp rock situations you do have to be aware that there is minimal protection on the outside toe box and could potentially get ripped.
