If you're looking for one pair of shoes to go with, the Sense Ride 4's are your shoe! The shoe is fantastic for technical trails, long days in the mountains, or even running roads from your doorstep over to your local trails!!
Sizing is typical for Salomon; I.e. size 10 in Salomon is equivalent to size 10.5 in most other brand shoes.

This is one of the best versatile runningshoes i ever had.
They have enough cushion to run on ditt and asfalt roads. Excellent on trails.
The grip om the soles are just the best og the salomons. Climbing and scrambling long routes with this one.

I bought these for my first trail marathon. I ran 26 miles and gained over 6000 feet. While I questioned my physical fitness, the shoes performed fantastically. Very light and responsive the tread is tacky. I bought these shoes because I had loved my sense 2s so much. These are a great trail shoe and I love running in them

Great shoe so far but could use a little bit more cushioning. I definitely would by another pair and recommend them for spring to fall running. Do you have the same shoe that will keep the snow off of your toes in the winter? Maybe with Kevlar tops: waterproofing

Love the updates on this shoe and usually keep a pair of these in the rotation. Feels light but has good protection and cushion for runs up to marathon distance or so. Lugs are not a hindrance on roads and have good enough grip for everything except for ice.

Responsive, protective, and solid traction for the long run while still being the go to for short runs. Wet or dry the shoe just works.

This is my first Salomon shoe after wearing another brand for many years and I am very happy with the Salomon Sense Ride 4’s. The fit is super comfortable right out of the box. I generally wear a men’s size 10.5-11, depending on brand. I got the 11’s and they fit great, so I’d say they run true to size. My heel feels secure in the shoe and I haven’t had any movement maneuvering on steep slopes. I have thin heels and can develop blisters from shoes sliding on me. Not an issue with the Sense Ride 4’s. The front of the shoe is comfortable, with just the right amount of stretch in the fabric. The tread has been great so far trail running on mud, rocks and grass. Feels very secure. The grip on uneven ground and hillsides is excellent. The Shoe is so comfortable that I also wear them to the gym, sporting events, and around town. I like the Quicklace system, as its easy to get on and off and to really tighten the shoe if need be without any slippage. Only improvement I’d suggest is the little pocket on front of the tongue can get blocked by the lacing system. Overall, I am very happy with the Salomon Sense Ride 4’s and would purchase them again.

I started wearing the Sense Ride 3 after switching from another brand, and they are the best trail running shoes I've ever worn. The Sense Ride 4 are very similar, and I am equally as pleased. They are lightweight, comfortable, have a roomy toe box and good grip. The lightness of the shoe has been especially noticeable compared to other trail running shoes I've worn. I wear my regular size 10.5 in these.

I love everything about this shoe! Every upgrade on this shoe has a place. It Seems to have more support throughout the entire shoe (upper and lower ) . My personal favorite is the added cushion to the sole. It is a stout and safe ride that I have already taken on big efforts and am convinced I have many more to come. I feel like it was the step in the right direction and plan on purchasing as many as I can get my hands on. I would also recommend this shoe to anyone that has really high arches.

Upgraded from the SR2. 30k straight out of the box no issues. The toe box is roomier than the SR2 and therefore initially felt bigger. I'm a 10.5 in the SR2, so went for the same, but probably could have got away with a 10. Happy with the fit, once I got use to a slightly different feel with the toe box. Lightweight, seems durable and super comfortable. Plan to run my next 50k ultra in them.

I've put about 100 miles in on the Sense Ride 4 and so far so good! It feels more responsive and lighter than the Sense Ride 3 and has awesome protection from rocks and other debris. Fit is exactly what it says on the Salomon site. A little bit looser than the S/Lab line but measurements are still dead on. This tends to be my mid-mileage training shoe for trails that aren't super technical and it works great for that!

Sense Ride 4
Just the right depth of lugs allows great grip and traction in the multiple conditions we have out here in Salt Lake City, UT.
Steep trails consisting of mud, packed dirt, scree, granite and snow, they handle it all well. Even the road if you choose to run to the trailhead.
I use it for long and short trail running and road running.
The fit is perfect, they are durable, and they look good as well.
They fit true to size, in my experience.

I am always excited to see what the R&D team at Salomon has been up to because they rarely if ever disappoint, and the SR4 is no exception.
To really appreciate this shoe it is important to have an understanding of what a leap forward the SR3 was. The SR3 was a posturing move by Salomon to position themselves to have THE trainer and set the bar incredibly high as an industry standard. The catch twenty-two of setting a new bar is that you also incidentally set your own ceiling. Somewhere between that high bar and the ceiling is where the SR4 was born.
I've spent the last month running in the SR4 and it has performed to or above all of the standards I've grown to anticipate from Salomon and specifically the Sense series. The notable difference over its predecessor is the weight. Personally I had no issues with the weight of the SR3, but the lighter SR4 has been a enjoyable improvement. I have not run into the clicking noise that has been mentioned. For those that have run into this, it sounds like it is a simple oversizing issue. Make sure you know your shoe size before ordering.
I think for those who subconsciously (or consciously) expect quantum leaps in each new release in a shoe series they fail to recognize the conundrum this presents. If you expect each new release to be a drastic overhaul from the previous you introduce the inconsistency of making too many changes. This results in "I wish they would have left this alone" complaints. If you error on the side of making only small changes in iterations you set yourself up for "This is a re-release and they didn't make any updates." This is why holstering expectations is the wrong perspective to review a new shoe with. It is my opinion that the SR4 is a step forward, and a building block in the SR series, and while it might not be the structural overhaul that some expect, it is still a notable improvement.
This is a trainer that you can expect to comfortably wrack up plenty of distance in. The SR4 is a reliable, easy choice for trail runners, mountain runners, ultramarathoners, and scramblers alike.

I've been running these shoes for about a month now (ever since the snow melted) and have I'm really happy with the tweaks from last year's Sense Ride 3.
With this year's slimmed down heel cup, more flexible upper and overall svelt fit, this shoe feels just as supportive but less heavy and/or bulky than the previous iteration of the beloved Sense Ride series. I've used them mostly for trail/road/dirt combo runs in my White Mountain Neighborhood and I think this is probably what they're best suited for. I'm looking forward to wearing these down over the next month or two so I can get my hands on the red/black version (was gonna put dancing boi emoji here but they're not allowed)
If you're in between sized I would recommend sizing down a half-size, as the fit is pretty generous, albeit comfortable.

Versatile, comfortable, durable, what else can you ask for? The sense ride is the kinda shoes for when you just want to get out and don't want to contemplate on which shoes to wear. You can't go wrong with these

The Sense Ride 4 is a perfect shoe for all around trails conditions. I would say it runs true to size I am typically a size 10 across-the-board and Salomon shoes. It's a great work horse shoe. If you just want to log miles or if you want to train a little bit more up-tempo. I've had the previous sense rides and I think this one is a great improvement as well even though I enjoyed the previous models.

I received my shoes Friday night and by Saturday morning I was out running a 40km trail.
Pros: Zero break in period, cushion and comfort for both trail and road, along with a light snug and snappy feel.
Cons: The pull tag that allows you to hide the laces ripped off immediately upon trying the shoes on.
In general, these shoes are excellent and affordable compared to some of the other shoes that Salomon offers. If you can get over the fact that the pull tag might rip off on your shoe, then I'd highly suggest giving these shoes a whirl. As well, I'd like to say that I'll be ordering a second pair immediately, maybe even a third. Cheers!

Like the Sense Ride 3, the Sense Ride 4 has quickly become one of my go-to trail running shoes! I love the cushy feel of this shoe and how it hugs the ankle tight and securely! This model doesn't require a long break in time and I utilized them for straight from the box 15 miler along techy southeastern trails.

I've put over a 100 miles on these shoes so far and I can't find a single fault with them. If you're familiar with the Sense line, you know that these are the Swiss Army Knife of trail shoes. From short training runs to ultra distance races, the Sense Ride 4 can do it all. I love how Salomon updated the tongue for this rendition of the show. Its now thinner and the lace tucks into the bottom rather than the top. The cushion allows you to go the distance without making it feel like you are running on marshmallows like some other brands.

The sense rides continue to be my favorite everyday training shoe. I've found that it works perfectly for running from home to trail and back. It's nimble enough for quick runs on dirt roads, stable enough for technical singletrack, has enough cushion to take on hard pack, and the tread is not so grippy that it will hurt them on some road miles. I was worried about the fit in the heel in this version because they added a little bit extra cushioning but after about 10-15 miles it fit like a glove.

First and foremost, I have been a fan of this shoe since its inception. I did feel like v2 was the less superior of the gang but was super pleased with the 3rd version. Which now brings us to version 4! Took some time to test this shoe out on various trails around town to get a full sense of how it responded, and I am thrilled to say that it is amazing. My favorite version so far. The traction/grip is dependable and allows me to fully trust the shoe to be there for me on rocks and dusty terrain. The fit is fantastic with a roomy toe box for a wider forefoot. Lastly, the cushion is firm and responsive, just the way that I like it. Since I got this shoe, it is really the only one that I want to wear for any trail run - regardless of where I'm heading. It's my go to option without a doubt. I have already and will continue to recommend to friends due to its feel and its versatile usability. Fits true to size.

I was a huge fan of the SR3s and the SR4s have impressed me out of the box. I have two pairs since I rotate between shoes. My third run in pair 1 wound up being a long effort pacing a friend for his 100 mile race in North Georgia, zero blisters, and plenty of comfort. Pair 2's second run was a steep, technical 25k mountain race in western NC with a final mile of paved descending to the finish - again, great experience! These shoes are proving to be a great trail shoe with a solid road transition, just like the SR3s.
