Mask insert will not stay in the mask every time the mask is removed.

This product feels good for the outer fit but the internal filter is a disaster. The filter will not stay in place. It flops out as soon as you take the mask off. It is not worth the money. The Honeywell dual layer face cover is much better. It also has a good external fit and more importantly the internal filter is held in place and stays in place. Where the OR flops around a you tend to almost eat it or it drives your nose crazy with tickling, the Honeywell is solid and the filter does not flop around. I bought 2 from OR and wish I had not. Spend your money on the Honeywell, your nose and mouth will thank you.

I had a lot of trouble with this mask. It was too big. The filter rubbed against my face and wouldn't sty flat and tucked into the mask. I felt like the mask and filter needed to be regularly fixed or adjusted. I abandoned it after a week.

Been trying to find something that fits my face. This mask does. It feels nice around mouth and nose. Problem is chord for ear loops is too thin. Longer you wear the chord gradually cuts into you ears.

The material began to "pill" at the bottom after a few uses.
The mask fits well however the option liner inserts are difficult to keep in place.

I wear the mask when I leave the house. The mask looks great and fits nicely. Sadly the filter is pretty useless. So I would not buy another mask or filters. This does not have any effect on my rating of the mask, but, although the filter is USA made, the mask is made in Vietnam.

I appreciate OR for working to develop a high quality product, however they are not there yet. This mask has a poor fit, the filter does not stay in place AT ALL, and it causes an allergic reaction fir me if worn for a few hours or more.
I love OR gear and I look forward to seeing how they can improve this mask to keep the filter in place and achieve a better seal.

Fit is everything and this mask is simply not a good one for myself or the 3 other people I know that bought them. The removable/replaceable filter is more of a problem than a solution as well. Was expecting much more for an OR product. Definitely disappointed.

I wrote to you early last week to tell you that the product itself would be great, except for the fact that the filter just does not stay in place. As soon as you make one move with the mask on the filter inside either folds in half or just moves totally out of place. I purchased 2 different masks and the same thing happens with both of them. There should be some sort of adhesive in the mask so that the filter will stay in place.. I know other people with the same mask , with the same filter issues...

Like many other reviews, my biggest issue with this mask is the filter. Because of the way the mask itself is made, the "pocket" that holds the filter is just 2 extra flaps of fabric on the side that you slip the filter into. This does a couple things that aren't great. 1. The filter constantly moves around, especially if you're talking a lot. 2. It puts the filter right up agains your face with no intermediate fabric layer to wick moisture away from your mouth and nose. This means that the filter gets grossly wet very quickly if you are doing anything beyond standing for a few minutes. My other complaint is that it's basically a 1-size fit for adults, and unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. This mask fits my husband perfectly. For me, it's constantly riding up near my eyes. I have the ear loops pulled almost as tight as they can go and it still rides up, so i'm constantly having to pull it back down over my chin. It would be great if there was an option to select an Adult Large or Medium, instead of either selecting Adult or Kids. I have plenty of other masks that have 2 size options for adults, that would be an easy add here.
I do think this mask could be really great with some relatively minor updates. I love that the filter works on the smaller virus particles, which is one of the main reasons that we bought these, and probably why I will still wear it when I go out in public places for longer stretches. The nose wire is also great, and has a really good seal to it. But as is, this mask won't work for me for things like going on hikes or walks, or doing anything even a little strenuous outside.

I bought 4 of the mask kits for my family so we would have a good option . The masks are a good shape and fit the face well, but material that is supposed to hold the filter in place constantly unfolds and is annoying. the filters move around and wont stay in place. there is nothing to locate the filter up and down do it frequently ends up in your field of view or coming out the bottom. its a great concept, but poor execution. bought these at the Seattle 1st ave retail location.

The mask is really well built. Unfortunately the shape of the masks and my face are not compatible as it "walks" upwards until the nose bridge is by my eyes; it doesn't stay around my chin. If your face shape is compatible this would be great. For me ? Not so much.

I bought a mask before Christmas and loved it. Dif was fanatastic doesn't fog up glasses. So I decided to order two more after Christmas of the same ones. One for a friend. After all the talking up of the mask I did they showed up and are way too big for our faces. She gave here away and I can't really use it. It's the same thing as what I order before christmas but seems they've made them much larger. This size is good for men not women.

I expected more from OR, and a relatively expensive cloth mask. The insert paper filter is direct contact on your face, could have easily been tucked, and more easily useable for outdoor sports.

The mask itself fits really great WITHOUT THE FILTER. The nose piece is nice and sturdy, and the ear loops let you get a great fit.
HOWEVER, the mask is unwearable with a filter because the filter doesn't stay in place AT ALL. And it's got small filaments in it, so as it immediately starts moving inside the mask, those filaments will tickle your nose, which will make you angry. I REALLY wanted to love this mask, but I can't wear it with a filter (so, I really can't wear it).

I am ever impressed that OR took on the job of creating a mask to deal with COVID and, as I understand, supplied some of those masks to healthcare workers for free. Super, outstanding! But I am sorry to say I don't think they did a very good job on the mask. The mask includes a protective "essential filters" that don't fit in or stay in the slots designed to hold them. Every time the mask goes on or off the filters crumple or wad up and no longer fit across the exterior mask. It seems like this would have been easy enough to discover in proto-typing the masks. Did/do folks at OR wear the masks before going into mass production? We made our own facemasks on a sewing maching -- ours have HEPA filters, and I am sorry to say they are far superior to the OR version. The filter on ours is fully encased and thus doesn't wad up, yet is easy to remove through a slot in the top rather than two pockets and long opening in the front as the OR version has. Making them is a pain so we would LOVE to buy the masks from OR. Thanks OR for making this effort, but can you redesign your masks so they fit? Right now I wear your mask without the filter, which surely is subpar relative to possible COVID transmission.

Ear adjustment piece slipped off and now cannot be adjusted. Should be a knot at end of loop so the little rubber piece can't come off. It is now useless. The filter could also fit better in the pocket. Not very secure.

This is still my favorite mask but I just wish there was some kind of pocket to keep the filter in place. It does move around a lot and tends to fold up which reduces the effectiveness. If I am doing anything remotely strenuous it folds up and moves around significantly.

The mask looked like a nice product, but when I started to use it regularly, it became clear that the filter constantly moves out of place if you have any beard stubble. The filter material catches easily on any rough surface.
The filter also loses stiffness if it is moistened (like from your breath) and won't stay in the proper position if you have to fold up your mask and store it in your pocket, etc. You can solve this by frequently changing the filter, but then you start blowing through the expensive filters pretty fast. I've gone back to a standard NIOSH approved blue surgical mask.
The design just doesn't work well in the real world. Too bad - I still like the idea, but the design doesn't hold up.

The mask size and fit is fine I didn't realize that the disposable mask insert would be what touches my face. I don't love that.

It fits ok, but the filter fits really poorly, and it's super uncomfortable. Don't recommend this product. I expect more from a company like OR... I'm not mad, just disappointed...

The mask is well made to fit the face but you have to fit or adjust the filter each tiome you wear it. I am disapointed that OR sells such a porly designed product There are better designed masks on the market.
