I have been a huge fan of Altras for years now, but the new sizing was a terrible mistake. No longer roomy in the toes, these feel as narrow as mainstream running shoes, the only difference being that they're a little less pointy. I can't speak to the wide width as it's only available in a few styles. These also have a pretty rigid piece of rubber or plastic or whatever at the flex point just behind the big toe which I predict will delaminate sooner rather than later. All in all, an incredibly disappointing shoe.

I love this shoe but I can't give you a full 5 star rating because this is my 3rd pair of the blue ones and by the 2nd or 3rd month of getting these shoes wet they smell so bad I end up throwing them out. Washing them makes it worse. The strange thing is I have a pair of the grey ones and it doesn't happen to them. I live a work on my small hobby farm in the pacific northwest and I'm in the rain a lot, this was a great change from wearing boots all the time. I've been wearing Altras for several years now so this is disappointing.

The fit is great, and I need waterproof shoes in winter/spring. I'd understood that all Altra trail shoes were compatible with their gaiters, BUT these are not. There is no way to attach the gaiters at the back! Not much point having waterproof shoes if water can come in over the top. I'm very disappointed that the ads did not mention this or show a view of the back of the shoe.

Very disappointed in this shoe -- Altra botched the new design. I've worn two previous iterations of the Lone Peak RSM for about 1000 miles each before they began to wear (usually a hole at base of the big toe; probably due to my bunion). Loved those trail shoes, but needed to replace. I was dismayed when I tried on the new "all-weather." The immediate deal-breaker is the thick seam down the center of the heel. What were they thinking? I felt it immediately walking around the house -- and anticipate it would chew through running socks by the week. Also, the heel doesn't hold anymore; notable slippage compared to the regular Lone Peak. The shoe itself is now much stiffer than the previous RSM -- more like sticking your feet in a plastic tube. I ordered the Lone Peak 5 to compare. The difference was immediately obvious while wearing one on each foot. The Lone Peak 5 is quite similar to the previous RSM. All that being said, at least the sizing is consistent: I'm a 7.5 in all versions.
I really wanted a waterproof version for the winter, but the new All-Weather is not comfortable or worth the price. I decided to get a new pair of regular Lone Peak 5 for drier days, and tape up the emerging holes in my old RSM pair, hoping that Altra improves the All-Weather design for next year.

I've worn Altras for several years now but the waterproof Lone Peak has changed. A non-elastic piece on the tongue of the shoe is attached to both sides, hitting the arch of the foot at its highest point. This renders the laces useless until the last three holes. I'm so disappointed!!!

Wish they made the product better! Does any one else have any ideas on where to get shoes like this

These shoes make a popping sound as you walk in them. It's as if there is a problem between, maybe a space, the insoles & the soles. No one is going to want this pair.

I have been wearing solely Altras for years and have always been happy. However, these shoes have left a VERY poor taste in my mouth. They were falling apart from the very first wear and they have been worn less than 10 miles total. The rubberized part separates from the upper. It is hard to photograph without making it look like I am peeling the rubber off of the shoe. They are supposed to be waterproof, but if there are holes in the shoes almost immediately, I don't see how that is possible. I emailed the warranty, and they said it is "not a defect" and it falls within the life expectancy of the product (less than 10 miles!!!!). Then they said it was poor fit or that I was just having heel slippage, neither of which I mentioned. They were saying anything to get out of holding up their warranty.
The unfortunate part, my mother bought a pair of these shoes on the same day that I did. We wore them on all the same hikes, and they started falling apart at the same time (both within just a few miles). We both submitted claims, yet hers was approved immediately, while I have been going back and forth unsuccessfully.
STAY AWAY from these shoes and DO NOT COUNT ON THE WARRANTY IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG!

Fit was good but they don't last. Inside of both shoes was tearing out after 2 months (about 100 miles). Submitted a claim for a new pair under the 300 mile guarantee and was told the damage was due to normal wear and tear. These are way too expensive to buy a new pair every two months. Will not purchase again.

Where do I start... I ordered this shoe 6 weeks ago and after just two weeks the front of the shoe was coming apart. The good part is that Altra has very good customer service and I received a new pair hustle free. The bad part is the decreased quality of the brand. Now, this is my 6th pair of Lone Peak over 6 years. I even own winter high-top pair and after the third season of wearing it, it's holding up. The quality of this shoe is very poor compared to the previous, waterproofed Lone Peak additions. Altra used to make waterproofed Lone Peak every season. Now they renamed it to All Weather and hiked up the price. The cushion on the ball of the foot of this shoe wore off after a few weeks and is very uncomfortable to walk on. The inside of the shoe has an uncomfortable fabric, that looks unfinished. The seam on the inside of the heel is so rough that it rubs and creates blisters after a couple of hours of hiking. If Altra continues to produce this kind of product in the future, I'll have to look for another brand. I don't want to, since I truly love my previous pairs, but I will not spend this kind of money on a subpar product that hurts my feet. I'm an avid hiker and having a good pair of shoes is essential.

They cut into my heal and where to tight. I tried a woman's 10 and a mens 9 both were to small and had the same issues. I really wanted to like but sent both back.

Altra, why are you not making this shoe with a Vibram sole?! The current rubber is so unbelievably slick in wet conditions (I am from PNW, I know wet), it is basically unusable on any trials that have roots and rocks. I also have no idea why the gator trap was removed. If you want to make a good trail shoe for all conditions, give it some good rubber and put a gator on it. Stop changing stuff that doesn't need changing.

At first I thought I found something comparable to the comfort of the Timp 1.5..... Nope. Ok at first, but a hard ridge runs around the outside of the foot bed and after walking in them for any amount of time becomes uncomfortable. Second issue is the grip. Any wet surface is super slippery in these things. If you’re going to be hiking where you may have to climb over damp or wet rocks, be extra careful. My Brooks running shoes have better traction than these.
