I only wear zero heel to toe drop shoes and Altra provides more sole cushioning than earlier brands. I'm on my third pair of Lone Peak All Weathrs which I wear year round whether visiting FL or in a couple inches of snow. I still order a half size larger. Great shoes!!

I'm 38 and have struggled with corns on my toes and just recently have been having an issue with a bunion. I got these shoes because they have the widest toe box of all the wide toe box shoes out there. One thing I noticed was when I was wearing normal socks, my by using still hurt. I ended up getting Injinji toe socks and since then my feet have been on the mend! I'm so happy about that! Also, customer service is amazing and their return policy is great. I got the 9.5 first, had them for a few weeks and realized while backpacking they were just a tad too small. I returned them within thirty days, clearly worn out and about, and they honor the return. They even applied the original discount to my new pair of size 10. Thank you!

I love the wide toe box! I love the cushion (it only lasted 6 months due to the amount of use). I wish they made these for the road too. I have washed them in the washer many times and they held up nicely. Next time I will try the all weather version so that my feet don't get wet. They dry fairly quickly. Stable on trails. I bought a pair for my husband too and he loved them so much his friend had to get a pair. :)

All my other Altra Lone Peaks have been 8.5. I had to return these for the 8's. Next time I'll order both and return the ones that don't fit. Otherwise, I like that they come up a bit higher than the previous model. Have not yet tested their water resistance. The previous model it was pretty poor. But love Altra brand!

Works well for hiking, well balanced shoe. Also wear as my everyday kick about shoe.

Altra's are great for the comfort of my bunions. The new all-wthr has a new footbed that fits perfectly! The bootie is much better than the prior outer laminate. These are the only hiking/walking/jogging shoes I will now wear.

I wear my Lone Peak's every day to work and to walk for exercise. I absolutely love them and my feet have never felt better in a shoe!

Walking on the property. There are different terrains there and they worked so well. Happy with them and my other pair as well. I will always but Altra shoes. Best shoes ever for me.

These Altras are SO comfortable and what a bonus to be able to walk through mud, wet grass, etc. With no worries! Love, love, love them! Thanks Altra!

I really liked them but then they came apart at a seam after 1 year. They are now still in good condition but leak. I don't actually run, just hike.

The waterproof version fits differently and a bit smaller than the regular version. I would have just exchanged them for a 1/2 size up but I tried that larger size in store and did not like them. They are not nearly as comfortable in terms of the fit and cushioning as the regular lone peak. A bummer.

I purchased the black/blue version 9.5 for work. I prefer the class shoe laces, versus the cord type shoe lace. The laces don't stay they seem to slide or give throughout the day. The shoe makes a squishing noise when walking (a bit annoying). Throughout the day the shoe will loosen, and the feel becomes a little sloppy. Perhaps a thicker sock? Other than mechanical or accessory issues; the shoe fit ok. My toes are happy and not cramped up in the Altra's. Most athletic shoes that I have been reviewing appear to have a very narrow toe box which is confusing.

Great for hiking, and even better for being on my feet all day long at work! Always love my lung peaks, because I have plenty of telegram and they last! Don't change these shoes!

My go-to shoe for many years now. The fabric does not hold up well but I can't find another wide toe box shoe that is somewhat waterproof. This latest version feels a tad bigger than my previous lone peaks which is disappointing. I use these shoes for outdoor pickleball court and they are great; no slip. good traction.

4stars because the laces are "slippery" and don't stay tight. Also, there's an odd noise each time a step is taken, like there's a space between the layers inside the bottom of the shoe.

There is something about where the tongue is sewn to the side of the shoe that is bothersome. It's too thick and pushes into the top of the foot. I debated about returning them but thought I would see if the shoe would feel better over time. It's okay now, but not great. The shoes are also quite heavy and bulky. I wasn't expecting that. I have loved all of my other Altras, but I would not buy these again for myself. They might be fine for others.

I love the fit and feel of these shoes, but within a few months of wearing them, they show a LOT of wear. They also do not stand up to much moisture, so definitely not "all weather."

I wish the product description made it clear that these are NOT waterproof. I was walking in moderate snow for two hours and my feet were totally wet. :( I'd expect more from such strong "weather resistant" marketing. I love to run and hike in the snow, but unless the path is completely flattened before I get there, I will get snow on my shoes. So sad. What a disappointment. **This is the same review as posted on the all weather hiking boots because I own both and both have the same faults.**

I really wanted to like these because they are zero drop, but unfortunately the water proofing technology makes the walls of the shoes very stiff and not conform to your feet (at least when I tried them on at home). I felt like the heel kept slipping. I'm normally a 7.5W in women's shoes, 8s for running/hiking, plus wiiiide feet bc of a bunion on my right foot (23.5 cm long x 10.25 cm wide!). The 7.5 fit my foot with thin athletic socks, but I had the slipping problem and could have been too tight once my feet swell. The 8 was roomy and comfortable, but because of the stiff walls, I felt like my bunion was being irritated ever so slightly. The laces are also the slippery round kind with no grip to each other, so they would need reinforcement. I tried the regular Lone Peak in a store and was amazed at how perfectly they fit my feet and did not hurt my bunion at all because the fabric is so soft/flexible. The 8 felt a tad too long, but with thicker socks, they would be good. The 7.5 felt secure and snug, but may feel too tight after a long day. I plan to use the Lone Peak as my hiking shoes and opt for wool or waterproof socks.
I'd also recommend:
Seguro (Amazon) - for wide feet and for daily use/house slippers

I bought these shoes because I love my other lone firs and wanted the waterproof version. Sadly they don't fit the same even though they are the same exact size.

So disappointed - so these were returned. For the price - better description for fitting would have helped. Also, by looking at the toe bed - not sure these would have lasted very long. The quality was off for the price. My son bought a pair only a few months ago and they have been worn down due the material.

I was disappointed with the fit of the Altra lone Peak for me. My toe hit the end but the toe box was super roomy with plenty of width. It was just weird for me so sadly they will go back. Cute style and colors!

I gave it 3 stars for running small. I have the Lone Peak 6 in white that I bought at REI and they ran 1/2 size small for me. Wear an 8 but had to get 8 1/2 because they were a little short. I read a review on these shoes saying they ran big so I ordered an 8 and it was way too small. I exchanged for 8 1/2 and still too small. I just returned them as Zappos wouldn’t let me exchange again. I wanted them for fall and winter and I have the white for spring and summer. Since they are similar to the lone peak 6 I know they will be super comfortable for a whole day of walking and touring.

The type of shoe lace used for this shoe does not stay put during the day the laces work themselves loose as I walk, etc. The shoe lace is a round thin cord. My other Altra shoes both have "regular" type shoe laces that stay put. Also, when I walk on cement flooring, tile, etc., these shoes make a squeaking type noise which isn't a big deal, but when walking with a group of people it is obvious.

I bought the all weather Lone peak after buying the regular non-waterproof version, which I love! These aren't as comfortable and heel slides around.
