My feet constantly blister in hiking boots. I hike regularly. These bad bois are the only hiking boot I can wear blister free. I feel like I'm wearing slippers. The lightweight, wide toe box & no rock plate take some adjusting to intially. However, they hold up in mud, slot canyons, sand, snow, steep slippery up & down hills. These shoes are great if you want to feel the terrain beneath your feet, wiggle your toes freely & hike sans blisters. I really enjoy these shoes! I normally can't wait to get outta my hiking shoes, but I can wear these all day.

Wowzers! Ok i went on a six mile hike it was muddy and ice/frozen in areas abs these were perfect!! Plus i can feel the earths energy since these are so close to the earth. I really feel part of nature wearing these! I r hiked this same area for 20 years and have had many feet issues. I slipped my orthos in here and could not be happier! Now..I want other colorsbut not the usual hiking shoe colors but colors that are fashion stylish so I can wear them in the paris/nyc etc not just hiking. Feels I found a perfect comfort practical shoe. Thank you!

I love these shoes! I ordered mine a size larger because the boots I had prior rubbed my big toe really bad. These shoes are wonderful. I took them on a hike after receiving them and didn't have any issues. They are super light weight, which will be great for backpacking. Can't wait to wear them on my next hike, just wish they had a half size up from my normal size 11. Size 12 is a little big but they seem to be fine on the trails. The toe area is really spacious, I wish it was a little less spacious, but these are the best boots I've come across in a long time!

I finally accepted that my old hiking boots were too small, so I finally bit the bullet and got these. I love the color, they were comfy from the first day I wore them, look great on, and they clean up nicely. I hiked 8 miles in them the first day I wore them out (would not recommend, let your muscles adapt to the barefoot style if you're not used to it) but they were comfy and didn't give me blisters at all. Wore them out again for a 5 mile hike and they were great. Cleaned up great after a muddy hike. I am looking forward to hiking in these more!

Zero break-in time. I put them on and started walking. Felt like I could walk and never stop. Also great neutral color way!

I wore out my old Lone Peak Hikers. These are very comfortable however my one complaint is they removed the gaiter clip at the front. No idea why.

I've been wearing Lone Peak 4 RSM low and mid high for almost 4 years and loved them the whole time with no break-in required. The strap across under the laces was a little annoying until I realized I could pull one end through the lace hole with the lace when I took them off to get the boot to open wide enough. That small annoyance was more than offset by the fact that it kept the tongue from drifting to the outside of my foot where it did no good. Another reviewer complained that the strap broke, leaving her stranded, but, in fact, there was a lace tunnel under the strap that could be used exactly as the ones on each side of the strap. This new Hiker mid boot is a mesh, which I had not had before. It has less arch support, which I don't like because it left my feet hurting at the end of the day. Also, the tongue now has the standard laces-going-under-a-loop that does nothing to keep it from sliding to the outside of the foot. In desperation I tried crossing the laces through the loop at the top of the tongue, then tying them around the loop. That looked a little odd, but it was mildly successful. I would still recommend this Hiker, but with reservations. I think it is even more to the daily wear now than the Lone Peak 4 because of the lack of arch support without changing the insoles and the lack of tongue control.

I go thru a pair of Lone Pike Hikers every 3 mo's. trail running (7th pair) I use both models. I just blew out of All Weather after my others failed Stress Fracture! Top bend by inner toe pivot (note they are not water proof).I continue to purch. because they r the best comfort & traction. Average 5+miles daily dence game trails. Tenance tape (iron steam on) will only work 1-2 outings if needed. I wish woman's colors more earth tone instead of sterile.

I used this boot for light snow and rain hiking. It is not water proof but I was willing to overlook that in favor of the wide toe box. Cut to a little over a year after I purchased, the material at the toe has ripped away from the seams. Contacted customer service and they deemed it normal wear and tear. So I got less than 100 miles out of almost $200 shoes. Will not be purchasing from Altra again there is no durability in this boot, definitely not waterproof, and an obvious defect with its construction.

This is super disappointing, the old trail runners were the only shoes that fit well and didn't give me blisters. Mine developed multiple holes and the tread was wearing down so I decided to get new ones in the same size. These are at least a full inch wider than the old model. I have them laced as tight as they go and it's still a little loose.
They're also navy, not black.
I'll be returning them, I really wish they hadn't discontinued the old model.

I wore them through the 5 National Parks in southern Utah. We did over 90 miles of hiking. It rained, it snowed, it was rocky, muddy, wet, steep, flat, every possible condition imaginable. I LOVE these boots. The toe box is so roomy, yet the boots don't feel "big". The soles are grippy and not too thick, so you can feel the ground under you without having aching feet at the end of the day. I didn't really think they had any arch support and I have flat feet. Still I found them comfortable and sturdy and up to the task.
I would definitely buy these boots again. Very different from any others I've owned and I kept thinking at some point, I will get tired of them. Nope. Wore them every day for 14 days straight and every day I loved them!

I hiked in muddy conditions in this shoe. Overall great grip, comfort and stability. I still slipped and fell twice but I don't think that's the shoes problem. I do wish these were waterproof. The light blue is really hard to clean even after wearing it for a couple of days.

This is my first pair of Altras, and I can't imagine buying new shoes that aren't zero-drop. I tried the waterproof version and was so excited about them until I started taking big steps and the material started making a terrible squeaking sound. I am so grateful there is a non-waterproof version so I can wear these shoes without the sound. I am definitely hooked and will be considering Altra first in all my upcoming shoe purchases!

It took a bit to get used to the wide toe box. Overall, I would say my foot is probably a bit too narrow for the shoe, but the shoe is so comfortable that I decided to keep it.

These are so comfortable to walk in. I love the wide toe box even though I have narrow feet. I have had trouble finding a pair of vegan hiking boots that is not tight in the toe box. The only thing is they are not water proof (the all weather version is not comfortable at all).

I hiked 9.1 miles the first time I wore them. I had packed my old hiking shoes just in case. Didn't need them. I have been limited by plantar fasciitis pain and haven't been able to hike for more than 3-4 miles at a time until these shoes! Normally, I need to stop and rest my arches, not wearing these Altras. The next week, I hiked 6 miles and again zero pain. I'm very excited to find a hiking boot that allows me to go on longer hikes. My brother had gifted me a pair of Altra running shoes, so I knew I needed to order a half-size up.

I am so happy with these shoes! They are comfortable, supportive, and easy to wear right out of the box. They may just be the best shoes I have ever worn.

I got recommended these shoes by one of my hiking gal pals and I'll never go back! I took them straight outta the box to the trails. No breaking in process, so comfortable and supportive. Absolutely in love!
