My son turned me on to Altra shoes. He gave me my first pair for Christmas several years ago. These are the first shoes I have ever found that have enough room in the toe box for my toes. I have had multiple foot surgeries with one toe amputation and those surgeries have made the front pad of my foot under the toes wider & thicker and I can no longer wear "normal" shoes. I have three pairs...The Lone Peak 6 and the Lone Peak Hiker & the 3rd pair are so old I don't know the name. I have worn the Lone Peak 6 until the cushioning has worn down and now it's hard to wear them for a long time because they make my feet hurt. I may be able to just change the cushion because the outside of the shoes are still in perfect condition. My Lone Peak Hikers are still like new and they feel like heaven on my feet. I like the fact that they are high tops which adds a great deal of support fo my feet. I feel that the shoes with the mesh and the nylon type tops lose their shape and support quite quickly, therefore I feel the leather shoes are the best for me. I will never wear another brand of "sports" shoes again. I only wish Altra made casual shoes that go with dresses and dress pants as I still haven't found any shoes for that purpose. I am about to purchase my 4th pair of Altra shoes today and I can hardly wait! These shoes are a Godsend for me! Thank you Altra!

I bought my first Altra Hiker boot for a hiking trip to Peru in fall 2021. I generally buy a size 9, but purchased size 10 since I wanted to make an adjustment. I removed the pad in the shoes and placed SuperFeet. I hiked tiny staircases up on rocks in the mountains and slippery stones going down. I walked through rain, mud, and stony trails. I've never hiked in boots before, but this was a bit more than my hikes at sea level and ancient used-to-be mountains, so I took a chance. I felt confident every step. I'm ordering my second pair for Nepal. I'm 70 years old.

I'm a nurse with weak ankles and the support is great! Would recommend these shoes for anyone who does a lot of walking. Very comfortable!

Purchased these for a hiking trip to Big Bend National Park. I wear Altra shoes every day and would not consider any other type of shoe of a long hike. Love the roomy toe box and ankle support. I rated these as half size too small as I size up 1/2 size and they are perfect for me.

I bought these to wear at work where I am on my feet on concrete floors eight hours a day. They were instantly comfortable and definitely held up on those floors. They look great, fit well and although they are the most expensive shoes I have ever bought, I think they are worth it.

These are the perfect hybrid of barefoot style (wide toe box, zero drop) but with a bit of cushion and arch support. Sooo comfortable.

I have a pair of altra street running shoes that I adore, so when I was looking for a good hiking boot I was excited to see altra made one. I was so blown away by the quality and functionality of this product! It exceeded my expectations, and I can't believe I ever settled for a stiff, narrow hiking boot before. 100% best hiker I've ever had and I'm about to by another pair (in black) as an every day shoe because I adore these so very much! Also worth it to say that are way cuter then the pictures.

I have wide feet and get blisters/bunions easily in stiff/narrow shoes. Not in these! They are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The wide toe means I don't have to break them in, they feel like slippers right away. I've worn them on a variety of hikes and they seem to be good quality and hold up well. I have the all weather/water resistant lone peak equivalent boot, as well. I would say the main difference (besides the water resistant fabric, obviously) is that those boots have a higher, stiffer ankle.

Love these boots! Just as comfy as my Altra Ones, with better grip on the trail. No break in needed

I hike in this shoe and it does a great job supporting my ankles and gripping the trail on rocky, gravely and sandy terrain. It is so very comfortable!

Beautiful, light-weight, 100% comfortable. Altra has been a good fit for me through several styles, but this is the best. I need shoes that are narrow everywhere except the toe-box. I swear this company was designed by my clone.

I've hiked and rock hopped in the Sagauro desert in these shoes. They stood up to a couple of hours and I kept my footing. I had minimal foot pain (heel pad atrophy) after my hike. They accommodated my orthotics + heel cups. The blue shoes are clever and look fine with shorts or jeans.

My wide feet appreciate the toe box. I love the color for my Florida walks! I need the ankle support and hope to put miles on these shoes.

This is an amazing shoe. Third year wearing them and I bought the waterproof and the regular version. The waterproof are my jam because the fit is different and the shoe is so easy to slip into. This version is much better than previous years and the sho glides on better, not as well as the waterproof, but no complaints as in previous years. Furthermore, the sole was updated and gripper. I love this shoe! Bought my hubby two pairs, my dad a pair, my friend in Amsterdam a pair, and have convinced several others to buy them as well and they are so happy! Also, I think they cure plantar issues - not kidding. My mother in law and me no longer have issues since switching. I'm basically a walking Altra advertisement!!!!!

Bought a half a size up for hiking steep climbs. Heel allows you to slide with grace. I have high arches, so I have inserts for the downhill.

I wish I'd found Altra's years ago and half dozen other hiking boots ago. After this, I will never buy another brand. I hike rock, sand, dirt, cliffs, sandstone and more. Extremely stable, durable and feet feel so comfortable. No need to break in, right out of the box, completely wearable and usable.

I love these hikers. I've put about 20 miles of trails in then and I couldn't be happier with how lightweight, flexible, durable, and spacious they are - my toes are free to spread while my ankles are supported. Not ideal if you're going to get soaking wet or go through streams.

Tried these after losing toenails with 2 other brands. These are so comfortable and feel like slippers. They are light weight, supportive, and have lots of toe room. No break in period. Just finished hiking the Arches and Zion in these and no problems.
