I have about 4 other pairs of Altras, but this is my first trail shoe purchase. It's about a half size too big. All my other shoes are 7.5 and fit perfectly. Not sure what happened.

Shoes came apart around 100 miles. I had multiple holes where the seams completely came apart and the soles started to come off. I contacted customer service at 100 miles and they said this was wear and tear. I had bought these shoes to wear for a 3 day trek to basecamp of a climb and tried to break them in first which resulted in them breaking down. I did not wear them again until the trek as they started to come apart. On day 2 of the trek they were being held together by duct tape. I emailed customer service again to tell them. I did not believe this was wear and tear and they disagreed saying this is normal if used correctly. Thus, 100 miles later I need new shoes. I see others have a similar experience. Avoid these shoes or you'll need new ones quickly. On first use these shoes will seem great but they absolutely do not hold up and will break down on you from normal hiking. I had unfortunately recommended them to a friend early on in their use and hers too only lasted her a few months of casual hiking. Please spend your money elsewhere. It is bad enough to make a terrible shoe so that people waste their money on something that won't last, but to see that for many users the warranty doesn't hold up either and is all just a facade is such a massive bummer.
