it was hard to break them in at first so my feet did hurt for a bit, but once that settled down, the shoes fit find with ample room to spread my toes. They also look nice too.

Lone Peak's are my go-to trail runner / hikers during Spring, cool Summer & early Fall trails in the Colorado Rockies. Light weight, flexible, and super generous toe space which really aids my balance on precarious rocks trails at high elevation. I fell in love with Superior first then I tried Lone Peak- wow. The outer sole wears down really fast (in perhaps 3-6months of use). So I do need to repurchase Superior & Lone Peak every year. The outer sole lugs can wear down really quickly. Can't use any other brand of shoe on my desert hikes. They were everywhere on the trails in the Sonoran desert this spring!

Love how these shoes are not too wide nor heavy. The color is amazing! Traction is good as well.

This is my third pair of these over several years. I wear them every day. I buy them a half size larger than some other shoes because my toes love the room and because I use a custom insole which takes up a little extra room. I have very flat feet, chronic forefoot pain and plantar fasciitis, but I am very comfortable in these. They always look nice because of the water/dirt resistance. Love the new color!

It's wonderful to find such stylish, good-looking, comfortable shoes with a wide toe box! They feel like slippers, yet they provide amazing support over rugged terrain! I'm practically living in them!

I purchased these after a traditional pair of hiking boots failed me and left me in a great deal of pain... I decided to go with the lone peaks because of the zero drop and natural foot shape. I couldn't be happier, I love these shoes so much! They are great trail shoes! If your someone who isn't used to a lot of arch support or maybe you go barefoot a lot, this is definitely the trail shoe for you.

A short walk to the car in the morning dew makes the toes of my socks wet. I wear my shoes all day and find wet toes too uncomfortable.

Wasn't sure how I would do with zero drop as I have never had theme before. No problem! In fact for the first time I didn't feel I was dragging along my boots/shoes... now my shoes are coming along with me. I am a fan!

I am a 7.5. or 8 in all my shoes and in this pair I tried on both sizes and found that the 8 fit me the best. I use them for running on trails and dirt roads. When the snow is gone I will probably use them for hiking. They are lightweight, and springy in the soles. The wide toe is comfortable for downhills, and there is also nice support in the heel for going uphill. I have run through a few puddles and my feet have not gotten soaked. So far, so good!

I got these shoes for dog walking (which is 5-7 miles daily). They are great! I have had Alta shoes before and love the room in the toe box. Some people do not like the look of the rounded toe but I know that happy toes trump style if you move around as much as I do. Give them a try and I don’t think you will be disappointed. Just sayin.

Love these shoes! I have a flat wide foot and it is almost impossible for me to find shoes. Normally wear 7 1/2 wide purchased a 7 1/2 wide and could have went with the 7 wide. With shoe inserts though it is the perfect fit! Definitely recommend!

I got this shoe based on assiduous research of hiking and backpacking reviewers' opinions of them. I was not disappointed. Yes, they are indeed comfortable from the minute they are put on. For the longest time I have been wearing Merrell's low hiking shoes / can't remember which model, but it's an older one, about 3 years old. Yes, the are comfortable, too, but after hiking my feet are a little sore and hot and I want to take them off immediately after the hike. I've worn these with maximal comfort and DON'T want to take them off. I wouldn't recommend them for a long, extra-rocky path where the rocks could dig into the sides of the shoe and possibly rip the rip-stop nylon that most of the shoe is made of. And now, they are not a stiff boot-like material -- not what I wanted anyway. So, I am so sold on these that I am fairly shoe I'm going to buy a second buy so I know they will be waiting for me once these are all "hiked out".

Absolutely the most comfortable shoe I have found, and I have tried more brands and sizes that I can count. Immediately bought a second pair and wear them all the time. WHY WHY WHY do you only offer one model and one color in wide width??????

I feel at home in Altra hiking shoes, enjoying the freedom of the wide toe box and confidence of the soles that don't slip in rocks and roots.

I got a size down which I think was good because the width is pretty wide. So comfortable! I would buy more if I did more trail running.

I have Hallux Rigidus and Hallux Minimus in my big toes. I wear Correct Toes and have a hard time finding shoes that accommodate them. I purchased Lone Peak 5 Wide and they fit my feet! This is a big surprise as no other brand of shoe, save handmade SOM shoes have worked before. I would buy another pair yet Altra does not have another Lone Peak 5 in Wide, only the Green which I purchased.

Had a pair of Lone Peaks from a previous iteration and loved them. Lone Peak 5 is just as comfortable. No break-in period and the zero drop feels so good. I'll keep buying them as long as they make them.

I am so thankful to have found these extremely comfortable shoes. I have bunions, and the size WIde allows me to comfortably walk distances and wear them all day. The cushioning is wonderful.

These shoes arrived one day before I left for an Arizona hiking trip. I wore them with Smartwool medium hiking socks and hiked 4 to 5 miles per day on moderate Arizona hiking trails for five days in a row and my feet felt great the entire time! This shoe is very lightweight, has a rugged, flexible sole and wide toe box which accommodated my bunions.

I love my Lone Peaks. They have been great this Spring in the wet weatherI feel confident every step I take because of the grippy soles. The wider toe bed allows my feet to exhale an audible "thanks!" Love them.

These LP 5 shoes fit marginally better than my LP 4.5 pair, which pinches across the arch just a smidge. These don’t pinch, but are so tight as to make me worry that they could. I wear orthotics for my high arches and supination. These shoes definitely help my overall foot health and strength, the zero drop has been like a revelation, and the wide toe boxes are nice, if not as roomy as I’d hoped.
