This shoe is to narrow for me to wear. I had to send them back.

Shoe delaminated after only 6 miles. I put in another 30 over the past week, and it only continued to fall apart.

This is my 3rd pair of Timps, and my 14th pair of Altras, some with well over 400 miles. When I first tried them on, I was surprised by the narrow fit. I have a narrow foot, but this shoe is really narrow. Bsrely enough coverage for the tongue at the top of the laces. But I gave it a chance, because the cushioning and toebox are second to none! After 65 miles, I have to say that I'm disappointed. The tongue wanders, and no amount of creative lacing helps. And I could get by with this being the only issue. BUT the delaminating of the upper is SUPER frustrating. It really stinks. I was willing to overlook the narrow(er) version thanks to the superior cushining...I could run in these things all day! But I'm really concerned that they are going to come apart at any time!!! I have a pair of Escalantes that I retired with 400 miles on them, and have continued to wear them as casual shoes for 2 additional years. Still in great shape. What has happened at Altra?? I honestly can't recommend these shoes. And that makes me sad.

The last pair of Timps that fit like I knew Altra's to fit was the 1.5 Every "updated" release has been wayy too narrow in the midfoot. I no longer can wear the Timps and am so confused, why the change?

Ordered these to wear as general use shoes and after two days of inside wear the glue was already pulling apart on the sides. I can't see these lasting through any type of moderate activity. They were extremely comfortable but just aren't going to last.

As with many others, I'm a long time Altra user of Lone Peaks, Timp, Torin, Torin Plush, Paradigm, Escalante, and even most of the casual shoes. It seems like each new release is another step towards the mediocrity of all other shoes. The footshape that I came to love is gone. The low volume, narrow fit for the middle and front of the shoe doesn't work. Every good step Altra has made in the heel, two mid sole options, tread improvements on the trail shoes, is wasted with a narrow toe box and low vamp. The roomy toe box is what made Altra special. The stated solution of going up a 1/2 size isn't a solution at all. It is a band-aid for poor design of what Altra's customer base wants.

I've been wearing the Timp 1.5 for years (for daily hiking, not running) and it's finally wearing out, so I ordered the 2. Didn't fit, and when I called customer service was told the 3 was coming soon and would be going back to the 1.5 sizing. Just tried on the 3. Took it off and measured the sole at the widest. It's 1/4" narrower than the 1.5. That's the difference between a wearable shoe and one I'm returning. It's also the difference between being able to use my expensive orthotics or having them expensively remade for another shoe. Altra rescued my feet and I hate having to find another brand. 'Responding to feedback' clearly means that people are asking for narrower shoes. Great! Design some! Don't take away the shoes we've been relying on for years. As a result of your earlier healthy footbeds our feet are wider than ever! Called again and was told there are some wide sizes coming, though in limited colors. That might be good, but it might also mean the heels get too wide. I'm a woman ordering men's sizes because my forefeet, especially the right with a bunion, are wide, not my heels.

Searched for YEARS to find the perfect running shoe for my heavy frame. Found Timp 1.5. Perfect! Ran my first 1/2 in them. Then Altra "upgraded" to 2.0. Then 3.0. Tried them. Now I am back to my years long search . . . PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TIMP 1.5 COME BACK!

At first these shoes were amazing. Even though the forefoot is a little narrow, compared to the Lone Peak, it only took about two days to get use to it. For reference, I have solely used the Lone Peak for the last four years. The Lone Peak 5 was such a disappointment after they barely made it 250 miles I decided to give the Timp 3 a try. At first it seemed if the Timp 3 was going to way out perform the Lone Peak. However, after 100 miles the shoe was already breaking down. Delamination and sole compression. By mile 140 the sole had compressed so much that I could press the sole with my finger and feel the tip of my finger with my foot. To be clear the heel area was fine. The forefoot part of the sole blew out. This left me in a bad situation. The next town where I could get a replacement shoe was another 120 miles down the trail. So, I just finished walking that 120 miles with every single pebble and rock stabbing my feet and no cushion from the ground. I understand the shoe has no rock plate but if you push on the bottom of the sole you can feel the insole that comes in the shoet. My feet are bruised to the point where my forefoot is yellow and purple. I've had cheap basic hiking shoes that lasted longer than the Timp 3. If you like replacing your trail shoe every 100 miles these are the shoes for you. If you are a hiker with realistic expectations do not buy these shoes.

Tried them on hiking trails. Sides delaminated after 1 week. Obviously a manufacture DEfEct. Altra needs to 1. Replace this pair with i no defective pair and 2. Correct their manufacture laminate process.

Ran 47 miles and it started falling apart. Lacks width. Altra said, "Through the years, we've kept the wide toe-box, but through customer feedback, have decreased the width, by a small amount".

I was really excited about these shoes and was left disappointed once they arrived. I've been running in barefoot shoes and was wanting to move to something with a bit more cushion, but still the wide toe box. According to the description, this should have been the perfect shoe. When they arrived the left shoe was tight but ok. The right shoe was so bad that it was painful and I couldn't even take em out for a run. With all of that said, my pair has been returned.

First off... the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. This would be my forever shoe if not for the fatal design flaw, which I thought was maybe a bad batch with these other reviews, but they are accurate that the shoe top layer becomes separated after first use. I loved the fit and feel so much, I almost considered keeping them even in this condition, but the amount of debris being caught in there and the idea of them catching on something on a run was worrisome. I decided to return. My first experience with Altra may be my last - which I'm sad to say. Pictures shown were after a day in St. George, maybe 12-14 miles put on them. Started to fall apart after 4.

Why are you ruining your shoes Altra? They have all gotten too narrow in recent years. Epic fail.
