This shoe is quite comfortable, however it is anything but weatherproof. Even a little rain had my feet soaked which is an absolute uncomfortable feeling. Each year this model gets worse and each year the prices seems to rise. I'm done buying this shoe. I wish the 3.0 were still available.

I've been wearing Altras for a long time. I usually love the Lone Peaks, but they've gotten too narrow. I hate to say it, but I finally made the move to a different shoe company until Altra widens the toe box again.

My feet are narrow so in past brooks have been my go to shoes, but since covid hit. They been making bad shoes, so im trying the lonepeak 5. Be honest I wear a size 9 in shoes, tried hokas- hurt feet, these feel big in 9s. Soles are to squishy, lugs are spaced to far, thought about the lone peak all-weather, maybe not no more, I have planters facietis, hard to find good shoes, So I've noticed alot of bad reviews on here, looks like bad shoes being made like brooks

I'm a huge fan of Altra shoes, I own multiple pairs but this is the first time the shoe feels too narrow. Initially I only noticed the sizing was slightly different, I usually wear a 10 and had to switch to 10.5. However, after getting another pair it still didn't feel right. When I compared to my other Altra shoes I noticed those were half an inch narrower in the midfoot section! That's a lot. I can't say much about how this shoe performs, the sizing is off so after trying two pairs I had to return both.

I really wanted to like this shoe as a waterproof Altra is exactly what I needed. But it doesn't have a wide toe box so I couldn't even wear it. Very disappointing.

I have been happy with lone peaks for a number of iterations. The fit is still good, but I am saddened by the disappearance of the gaiter trap and the all weather version. sewing on Velcro will compromise the water resistance, so the design change makes my current gaiters useless, greatly degrading their overall score for me.

Toebox full cm less wide than my old Altras. Disappointing. I'm returning due to fit but otherwise appears to be a high quality shoe.

Hardly any toe room for myself. Altra shoes have changed so much in the last few years. Just not for me I guess. Back to Hoka One One.

Similar to reviews for other styles, there seems to be a change in the width of the Altra shoes. This one is no different. I bought these for my husband as a gift to replace his TIMP 1.5 Trail Running Shoe (made in China). I decided NOT to go with the TIMP 2.0 after reading reviews of narrower fit from version 1.5. If you are considering a different style with these in hopes these fit like the older versions, don't waste your time/money. Not sure if it's because manufacturing is now in Vietnam or if there is intent in Altra making a more narrow fit, but if you have normal size feet, consider a different style.

Side wall started tearing after 6 weeks (see pictures). Side support began failing after two months. Shoes feel less supportive now than when new.

It's almost like they want us to remain in foot prison. Why is it so hard to find a shoe with Altra? I want a LOW profile, LOW cushion "true to foot shape" shoe.

I love the fit of Altra shoes, but I will never buy them again. My first pair lasted over a year of hiking and trail running and this pair started ripping apart after 2 months of street walking. Altra warranty support refused to honor the warranty saying that shoes wear out naturally even with limited use. I don’t know if it’s poor quality control or just bad design, but these are not well made shoes and the company clearly does not stand behind their product.

I Have purchased many shoes from Altra over years. I've mainly bought the Superior, Timps and Olympus styles. I wanted to try the Lone Peaks 5s because I liked the look. However, after wearing them for a few days they just made my feet hurt. I walk and run with dogs all day so standing and being comfortable is a necessity. I will not buy these again. They look cool but feel bad.

I currently have 5 other pairs of Altras. I love them. THESE SUCK. Blisters after less than 5 miles. The heel is way stiffer than any other lone peaks. No gaiter attachment on front. GARBAGE.

Shoes were missing stitching from the factory. Also were not waterproof. Contacted customer support and was told that they did not cover the shoes even if it was a manufacturer defect becuase they consider it wear and tear for stitching to be missing.

I loved these shoes, BUT... . This is the second pair I've owned and in both cases the goretex outer covering split in multiple places. The first pair I used on a very strenuous hike so I didn't think much about it. I felt I got my money's worth, so I ordered another pair. These were used for walking around my neighborhood 3 miles a day. After a few months the same thing started to happen. I've ordered replacements, but not the all weather variety. But with Zappo's, I was able to return them no questions asked. No reason to every buy on line shoes from anyplace else.

It just "break" after few miles... you can see holes after 150miles. I would recommend buy any gore/tex running shoes. experience was awful.. I used similar product in 2019 to run 100miles race in AK, white mountains... they worked well new version is just awful.

I really wanted these to work. I have other Altra shoes that are a perfect fit. This issue with these is the toe box is too low and pushed my big toenail down. I even went up a size to try and make them work but it was no help.
I'd also recommend:
Kean's fit me great as well.

I had run in nothing but Altra Lone Peaks (various models) for years. Tried these ones and I was sad to say they do not fit like the past models. Too narrow. Toe box is not open enough. I opted to stop running in them and went to the Olympus 4, which I have loved and am on my second pair of those now.

What the heck? I wish I had listened to the other reviews that noted that these (as well as other Altras) are narrower than they used to be. I've had several pairs of Altras dating back to 2015, and loved all of them, but something is different with these. They are significantly narrower overall and the inner edge of the toebox in particular is not wide enough. My toes cannot fully splay out because the big toe bumps against the inner edge. I gather from reviews on Zappos, as well as multiple youtube videos, that I am not alone in realizing this change in Altra design. I will be returning these, and not buying any more Altras, unless they go back to the older, wider designs.

I'm a runner with low volume, normal width feet. Nike and Asics running shoes typically fit my foot well. I also enjoy nature waking and light hiking. Nothing long distance or carrying heavy loads, but I will tramp around off trail in any weather. In the past I've used my old running shoes to hike in, but they are not waterproof. Looking around for waterproof hiking shoes, I decided to give the Lone Peak All Weather a try. The fit was good, with the upper wrapping around the sides of my foot and still allowing enough space to cinch up the laces when wearing thin socks, and also to loosen the laces when wearing thick socks. Compared to my racing flats, the cushioning on the Lone Peaks felt substantial and offered welcomed padding over a variety of surfaces. The zero drop platform allowed the heels and balls of my feet to remain level, which, over the course of the day, resulted in less foot and leg fatigue. Overall, the feel of these shoes, from foot fit on up the anatomical chain to the ankles, knees, legs and lower back was quite comfortable. But here's the thing: these shoes are NOT waterproof. Not even close. I wore the shoes walking, hiking and biking on a 5 day family camping trip. It rained one day when I biking down a dirt road, and the insides of the shoes, and my socks, were wet. At first, I thought spray might have kicked up from my tires, or maybe ran down my leg into the shoe. After the camping trip I wore them around my neighborhood during a week of wet weather. During a very short walk in moderate rain, they again took on water. The upper material was visibly saturated. Arriving home, I took off the shoes and set them in the foyer. An hour later, the entire inside of the shoe - footbed, lining, etc, - was soaked. Altra can claim credit for producing a shoe that comfortably fits low volume feet, allows natural forefoot spread, and offers a well balanced zero-drop platform. But the shoe is not waterproof. Today, re-reading the online product description, I see it is described as having a "weather-resistant eVent bootie..." To be fair, the shoe did keep my feet dry while walking through dew-dampened grass on sunny mornings; however, I hardly consider that "weather resistant". Inside the actual shoe, the lining is alternately printed with the words "waterproof" and "eVent". I find the discrepancy between the actual printing on the shoe and the product description to be misleading at best. In conclusion, I find this to be a highly engineered, comfortable shoe, but one that does not deliver on the one feature I valued most.
