I hike a ton and I've bought this boot more times than I can count. The sole wears out but I'm OK with that. This is the only boot I've found that does not mush my big toenails. FWIW, my foot is a little wide.

I bought the Lone Peak Hiker because I got them for a great deal (pull tab had torn on one of the shoes) and because I absolutely loved the Lone Peak 6's, so I thought why not get the high top hiking equivalent. The Original Foot Shape of both these shoes is awesome and lets your toes spread out naturally to give you more balance. The flexible nature of the sole helps strengthen your feet and lets them flex naturally to contour to terrain. Overall, I think Altra nailed it on the head for a high top hiking version of the Lone Peak 6. I have a size 9.5 in this shoe and LP6's (my true size) when I usually buy a size 10 or larger in all other shoe brands to give my toes more room to spread out. Even buying a larger size in other brands, the other brands usually leave me wishing for a more generous foot shaped toe box. Durability wise, the pull tab could use improvement and probably the front of the boot for people who drag their feet more. Otherwise, I have found the Hiker to be pretty durable and I ended up super glueing the pull tab back together which worked great.

We went for a 5-mile hike on the second time I wore them. I felt like I was walking on clouds even over rocks.I love this shoe!

I love these. I hike in them, wear them to town, farm chores, etc, and they do it all perfectly.

I had to go try out the new boots and must say, there is NO break in period. They are super light and comfortable. I thought they might be too light to provide good ankle support, but the initial hike went well. Was the most comfortable hike ever. I need to put a lot more miles on them to see how they hold up. So far, they are great.

Out of the box they are extremely comfortable and a lot lighter than I thought they would be. They may not have as much ankle support as I anticipated, but will find out on the next hike.

I bought these hikers in the hopes that my toes would not take the damage going downhill as they have with other brand of boots. Objective completed and my toes are saved. I can't speak to the durability yet as I've only put about 30-40 miles on them but they are the most comfortable pair of hikers I've put in my feet. They are very lightweight and very flexible so they do not offer as much ankle support as a full-on boot. I will be buying the waterproof version in the near future.

I am finally retiring my first pair . These boots/shoes have done well over 500 miles of hiking and trail time with me over the past year and a half. I've used these on the Wonderland trail, the CDT and multiple extended trips into the mountains.I've happy feet on every trip. My only complaint is that we need more color ways ;)

The only thing you can't do with this show is wear them with a suit. I have a wide foot and have trouble finding shoes that fit, but this is perfect. Also, they are hiking shoes, but you could easily run in them.

I used these for a hiking trip to Philmont Scout Ranch, NM. We trained with these and they were lightweight and durable. Liked them so much my son and daughter bought a pair. During the trek I experienced a tare in the seam. When I got home I submitted a warranty and Altra replaced them with NO questions asked. I would truly buy more of this product. Thank You

I'm 53, 6'6" and wear a size 16. Shoes have been an issue my whole life. These are great. Super light, super tough and and the comfort is unreal. High top flip flops is how I would describe them. The foot shape and zero lift are awesome. I'll definitely get some more. They need to offer these in multicam or black multicam would be even better.

Bought these shoes a couple weeks away from a planned hike in Arizona. Went through Wind Caves, Camelback Mountain, and Devil's Bridge. The shoes performed amazing and gave me a heck of a lot more grip than other shoes I've worn (ie Keen and Merril). I am concerned about how long the tread will last, but so far so good!

I hike / walk in Keens and Altra exclusively. These Lone Peaks were right on the mark when they came out of the box. I put them on and went for my multiple mile walk immediately. They just don't disappoint me at all.

The shoe pictured here is actually the men's version- ordered accidentally. I returned these and got the women's all terrain hikers, which I love! They are SO comfortable I feel like I'm on clouds. Really. Big favorite. This is my first pair of Altra hikers, 4th pair of Altra overall. Decently warm and haven't tested the waterproof -ness yet.

Wanted a new shoe for the shooting range/hiking, kind of a tool of all trades shoe, something I can throw on when I go fishing, and something I can throw on for a quick session at an outdoor range. This checks all the boxes, great quality, light weight, and comfy! And they look awesome. I got the khaki color and was worried it wouldn't look as cool in person, the color is true to photos. not sure why they call khaki, its more of a minty/green/gray. Looks awesome!!!

Very light and comfortable hiker. Very soft upper and comfortable sole. Not sure yet how they would stand up to an extreme hike. Will definitely try them on a difficult hike.

I've been hiking daily in these for a month now and hey are crazy light, supportive, and comfortable. But I still have to see how they hold up over time.

I've been a loyal Altra user through thick and thin. I ran The One's, Superiors, and Lone Peak Mids into the ground. I've been waiting for them to really nail a versatile boot/sneaker hybrid correctly, and they finally did it. I think the last time they got this close, it was the Lone Peak 2 Mids. Since, I think the boots went through some changes that I didn't like so much: they started to look too technical, they used less durable materials on the upper, and some weird sizing issues popped up. I forget the name of it, but they did a really durable hiking boot recently that I wanted to love, but the upper was just too tight around the foot. This boot has a nice casual look while still retaining technical ability, has what appears to be a durable upper, and the sizing is pretty solid (note: they are a bit looser so you can wear thicker socks, I believe. Size a bit down or just plan to wear thicker socks.) My suggestions to Altra are two-fold: more colors and variants based on this design. I'd love an all black colorway, and I'd love a variant that uses Gore-Tex or something rugged of that nature on the upper.

Getting into some local hiking to rehab knee and hip replacements this hiking boot fits the bill for me. Great lateral support and stable on severe incline and decline's. This is one of the best!

I do not hike or run trails. I work in healthcare. These are amazing underfoot. The insole is very soft, but maintains support. The exterior is as stylish, if not more, than it appeared on the website. Durability is yet to be determined.

I measure 12.5 I have 3 Altra ln 13 and many others in 12.5. If I bought Altra currently this would tell me to buy true to size. I have a low volume foot, narrow heel, average width. Full length Insoles added for Plantar Fascists. I feel lucky for such a good fit.

I don't hike, but I have owned more pairs of Altra running shoes than I can count. I bought these to wear shoveling snow, walking the dog, and going to and from work when it snows in Denver. They are perfect for that.
