I sized down half a size because my normal size felt a little big. I then loved the fit and comfort!

Finally, at last Altra has put out a shoe with enough mid foot volume for those of us with wide feet! Kudos for finally doing it! This shoe feels a lot more like the Olympus shoes I bought years ago with respect to the volume. I've tried several models of the Lone Peaks over the years but they all failed me with respect to the volume. The toe box was always fine, but the volume seemed made for tiny, tiny feet. This one gets it right for my foot. No squeezing where my neuromas always got squeezed before. Please, Altra, expand to other colors with this last!!!!!

These shoes are the very best! Working up on a roof, these allow feet to bend and move on a slant surface without discomfort! Great grip from the soles and comfort all around.

I started with Altra and the lone peak 3. This is a major upgrade in so many ways. They feel light allowing quick movement over any terrain and yet protect my feet very well from outdoor obstacles on the trail. I have major trouble finding shoes that fit and these couldn't be more perfect. I'm sorry I ever strayed from Altra, they are the best. I bought two pairs by the way.

OMG!!! Everything I always heard about this shoes was true! I bought the lone peak 4.5 last year and used them for almost 600 miles before deciding to upgrade to the 5. I can't say enough good things about the 4.5 but that added EGO on these 5s makes for a huge difference! I just wanted to say thank you Altra for doing what you do best even better! You guys rock and I can't wait for the next pair to come out. I will probably never go with anyone else! #thruhikeforlife

Love these things! Great fit, lightweight feel and grip. Heads-up though, I did have to go a full size down, normally 12 in all other brands and styles of shoes. But Size 11 worked for me here. I also consider my feet to be somewhat narrow but I've been on the barefoot/minimal train for a while and can't go back to 'traditional' shoes. And there's obviously more width in the toebox than normal shoes, but they dont feel like clown shoes or too wide, they feel just right! Great shoes, I've had them a month and already trying to out which color I want next.

This is my first pair of trail runners. 4.5 felt a little wide, but the 5.0 feel just right.

I fell in love with the Lone Peak 4.0 and wore them for so long I completely skipped the 4.5. I ordered the 5 as soon as they were available, took them out of the box, and straight on the trail for about 10 miles carrying a 28 lb. pack. And once again, the shoe is exactly what I am looking for. The wide toe box, quick drainage, light weight, foot protection, and ease with which I can attach my Dirty Girl gaiters make these the hiking shoe for me.

Really glad that the RED color option is available in men's sizes now. I loved the previous versions but these colors are just way faster now. Same great traction and nice cush while still being able to feel the trail under your feet.

I am a long time Altra customer and have felt the pain of their inconsistant sizes and widths. Finally, they decided to make a wide width for the customers they tailor their products to- zero drop, free feet hikers/runners whose feet grow long and wide as they hike! Believe me, I have tried almost all the Altra products to find one that worked best with my duck feet. Most recently, I was ok with using the TMP in a 1/2 size larger than my normal, but the reduction in comfort and durability had a price that I paid at the end of a long day on the trail. With new wide size Lone Peak, I am back to my former go to shoe and all my needs are met - wide comfortable toe box, wide instep, snug heel, comfort in the sole, great tread.
I won't be able to review durabilty for a few 100 miles but if they are like previous Altra trail runners, I will keep my expectations reasonable. Thank you Altra for finally listening to your customers and designing a shoe to meet their needs. Now do the same in your running line of shoes.

One of my favorite running shoes! Great grip, secure heel and space for toes to play, and solid customer service. Feels a little more responsive than the LP 4.5.

The Altra Lone Peak 5 is yet another great addition to the Lone Peak line. The Lone Peak 5 is a perfect combination of comfort and performance. I can't wait to try the new Lone Peak 5 all weather addition as well. Keep it up Altra.

Lot's of trail running here in Western Colorado, rocks, gravel, loose dirt, and sand these shoes never let me down. Love the wide toe box it makes me feel like I can spread my toes wide and really drive up hills or stop on a dime. The only drawback with the 5.0's is my size 9 feels like a 9.5. I have about a thumb width from the end of my toe to the end of the shoe. Probably wouldn't be a big deal if I could find these locally and try before I buy.

This is my 13th pair of Lonepeaks and I think they are the absolute best shoe in this category. Through ny 13 pairs, spanning multiple generations, there have been a few issues, but Altra's customer support and product replacement are top notch. I will be loyal to this shoe and this company provided they stay true to what has made them a superior shoe!

The wide size perfect for my duck feet. I gotta to wear it for the first, went for a 12 miles hiking in sunny California somewhere near Yorba Linda. This shoes did great I could not ask for a better one like this.

I'm a woman with a wide foot and very high instep, and until now, I've been unable to find zero-drop shoes that fit. To get the wider width, I purchased the man's version of this shoe. They accommodate orthotics well and don't look like "old lady" shoes! I need the zero-drop to help with a back injury which has impaired my ability to walk properly for more than three years. These shoes have allowed me to function more normally and walk without back pain. I haven't been able to do that in a long time. Thanks for making such a great product. I hope you'll make more wide shoes, in different colors. I'll purchase them all!

I Usually wear the Torin 4.5 in a size 12 but but foot slips a bit heel to toe. The size 12 is for width. Having the lone peak in a wide allowed me to go down to 11.5 and eliminated the slipping.

Average 80-100 miles a month of trail running and was fitted for these at Cool River running store. Have never been fitted and these shoes performed better than my Hokas in the mud and uneven terrain.

The wide version fits very similar to the Superior 3.5. The older Lone Peak version fit so tight over the forfoot that I had to cut them so there is enough room for my foot.
