Really like Lone Peak 5. Honestly the most comfortable run/walk shoe I have ever had, and I have worn various brands. Great full toe box, so allows me to wear a better cushion foot sox.

Very comfortable shoe, great fit. Note: I am normally a 10 1/2 wide. Had to go down to a 10 wide in this model to fit. When more models are available in a wide, I'll expand my Altra collection.

I order a bunch of shoes and this was the final choice. Very comfortable out of the box.

I love the fit of the shoes but not sure they are very durable. I’ve attached a photo of shoe coming apart near ball of foot.

I bought these shoes for trail hikes and they've been great, very comfortable. I have a narrow foot and the shoe is wide, I sized down by a half size and they fit well. I'll be buying the Men's Lone Peak boots too:)

Right out of the box I took them on a 22 mile trail run over all types of offroad from improved dirt and gravel to no path woods. Felt good every step of the way. Despite getting wet from early morning dew, I didn't get any blisters. They perform fine on the road but I would not recommend long road runs on the pavement because they do tend to feel like cleats. I did try them on in a store first before purchase. Normal running shoes I have to go a half size up for the extra space in the toes, but for these, I actually purchased my regular shoe size.

I used to wear Torin in men's 8.5. When the sizing changed they no longer worked. These are a little longer inside the shoe but wider too. I wish there were more wide styles with flat sole.

We watched the Crawford's on YouTube channel Fight for Together. We saw where you supplied the family with your shoes on their through hike on the Appalachian Trail. We thought we would give the a try. They are great shoes and really help with my foot issues thanks!

Watched a 30 minute YouTube on shoes. Learned about these and bought them. So far I have hiked 50 miles over the last few weeks and my feet are so happy. When you find something amazing why look any longer? You don't. I'll be buying these shoes over and over. So far have converted 3 friends to these shoes. AMAZING

The shoe is extremely comfortable straight out of the box. The upper feels very supportive and light. The traction is very well. The cushion is soft yet provides good rebound. Excellent build quality!

Have had many pairs of the Lone Peak in both regular and mids, dating back from the 4s. Loved the 4, didn’t like the 4.5s so much but these 5s are nice. I think it’s the best iteration yet. A do it all shoe.

I was looking for a trail runner for a upcoming trip. Decided to give these a try. They are like wearing slippers with grip! Very cushy and comfortable. I was not sure about the zero drop, but after a day wearing them, they felt great. The only thing I would say is because the toe box is so large they tend to look a little odd. But honestly with the comfort I can look past that. Oh the other thing missing is reflective touches. If you might hike or road walk any bit of reflectivity is welcome.

I've tried a lot of trail shoes/boots (Merrells, Salomon, etc.) but these Lone Peaks are my favorite.
The LP 4.5 was my entry into Altra's and I didn't think I'd find a lighter, more comfortable and more capable shoe but with the Altra Ego midsole the 5 is even better than the 4.5, though I still use the 4.5s, too.
The 5 is a little wider through the mid foot, which isn't ideal for me but with a runner's knot they still work just fine.

I wear these to run, lift, fly, backpack and everything in between. These would be my third pair of lone peaks. A true fit to how feet are shaped.

We wore out the 4.0 version through many miles of trail hiking our dogs. The new version fits great and offers as much or more cushioning(granted the 4.0 soles were definitely worn out). Will buy again for sure. Also bought the Olympus model which definitely has more cushioning with same roomy fit.

I love the new wide version of the lone peaks! Wide trail shoes are super hard to find, as are any running shoes for wide 4E feet. These are exactly what i have been looking for, with a perfect blend of lightweight cushion, width, and comfort, I have completed all of my recent long runs on the trails in these shoes. I am about 150 miles into this pair and they also seem quite durable so far. Thank you for making an awesome trail shoe for folks with wide feet, please keep that as an option!

They feel like the best yet in terms of comfort, fit, and the right balance of traction without having it feel like I'm wearing cleats when I'm walking on a hard floor, as in previous versions.
I should update this review in 6 months once I've had a chance to run around in them a bit more. Previous versions have suffered from subpar durability in specific areas. These seem promising so far though.

Lone Peak 5 is big update over the 4.5, first big fix is the heal, I had to find special sock for 4.5 so it did not rub my heal ( finally found them and then loved the shoe this winter in Durango ) Next big update improved cushion in the midsole for some one with high arch and clydesdale class build love the new feel and previous solid fore foot ground patch when in more loose pack or snow.

This is my first pair of Altra Lone Peak trail shoes. Did a 3-mile walk/run in them today on asphalt. They feel great with more cushion than I expected. Can't wait to wear them with my Altra gaiters on a mountain trail including day hikes on the AT! Don't believe I'll have to break them in; felt great out of the box. If they wear well I'll be ordering more.

I read a lot of reviews that the 5 was smaller than the 4.5. I found that they are very similar in size and fits my foot just as good as previous models. I do a lot of off trail scrambling in addition to hiking with heavy packs and these shoes hold up great for as light as they are.
