Having run over a 1000k in my previous Lone Peak pair, I noticed a tear in them so immediately bought a new pair. Haven't run in them yet, but my feet felt "at home" when I tried them on.

Great shoes, use them for everything, trail running, hiking, tooling around town. I have very wide feet (typically 2E or 4E new balance) but the "normal" width works well for me. Buy them!!

SO far, I’m loving these. They look good, feel great, and seem like they’ll hold up. The coloring on these were great also. Arch support could have been better however, and the only reason for my 4 in comfort.

I have had problems with neuromas for the past couple years. The unique shape and width gives my toes the space they need to spread out and prevent my neuromas from getting inflamed. Awesome shoes!

I had an earlier version of the Lone Peaks that were a little snug in the toe box but fit ok over time. My new Lone Peak 5s fit great! Lots of room in the toe box. There does seem to be a little more volume in the shoe as a whole but like the fit. Like them so much that I bought a 2nd pair. I wish I could say the same about the Torin. Just the opposite. I have 3 pairs of the Torin 1 that fit awesome but the new Torin 4.5 is too tight in the toe box and they dig into the base of my big toe right where the bottom eyelet is.

I normally hike in Salomon boots but the longer I go, the more unhappy my feet get with the lack of flexibility in the shoe. I bought the Altra's on the advice of an App trail thru hiker. I just got back from a 5 mile hike with a 20lb pack and loved how the LP 5's performed! They're very light and responsive. I can't wait to take them on the rim to rim trail in the Grand Canyon in June!

This was my first time in Altra’s. I normally wear Salomon boots for hiking and backpacking but these were recommended to me by an Appalachian Trail through hiker. I just got back from a 5 mile hike wearing a 20lb pack and love them! Super light and comfortable, I will not go back to boots or other, heavier shoes. Looking forward to wearing them for the Grand Canyon rim to rim hike in June! Fit is true to size.

Extremely wide toe box. That works great for me.
"Zero drop" takes a bit getting used to. It's ok while trekking and walking, but I feel like the show is about the come off while going uphill...

Purchased these shoes in an E width size 11 for my father-in-law who has neuropathy in his feet, amongst other issues and he loves them. At the ripe age of 89, these shoes allow him to have better stability due to zero drop soles, with good tread traction for safety. Very grateful, as is he because it has provided comfort and confidence! Altra rocks as they clearly have provided shoes for the active adult that is so well designed that it can serve as something for a far greater purpose.

I have been wearing Lone Peaks for years. The LP 3 was my favorite. I am thrilled that the Lone Peak 5 fits as well and is as comfortable for trail running. Can't wait to take them to Bhutan.

I bought the Lone Peak 4.5 last year and loved them - most comfortable and versatile shoe I've owned. So re-upped this year. Disappointed that the wide only comes in the blue. Not a great color.

Thank you Altra for the addition of a wide width option on the Lone Peak 5. I do not run but racewalk. The shoes are flexible and low to the ground which gives me a great feel for the road. PLEASE keep the wide option on at least one Altra running shoe! This is now my go to SHOE from Altra

I'm on dirt and rocky trails, with some stream crossings so they get dunked. They seem to drain very quickly. The shoes generally feel light and natural fitting but also have great traction with the treads. I've already gotten some records on my favorite uphill segments and it's only 50 miles in. They're my favorite shoes I've tried. Several others have given me trouble around the sides of my feet or the arch - no issues with this. I thought the extra space in the toe box would feel strange but it really just feels natural. I don't feel like I move around a lot even when going downhill or weird angles inside the shoe. Basically they're great.

I have a pair of these and bought these for my ultra running husband. Excellent structure and feels more stable and yet cushiony than the last Lone Peaks. He'll be taking them to Rim to Rim to Rim and we'll probably buy another pair for his 100 miler in Utah this Fall. Didn't think improvements needed to be made from the last pair, but they did and they're great!

A little bit wider for my duck feet but it works perfectly fine because I love using thick socks like merino wool socks for comfort.

I'm really pleased with my purchase. I use them at work on a concrete surface and they provide me with adequate cushion and support. The sole provides grip on every surface.

Altra took care of me when I got a product with a minor defect and they allowed me to choose some new ones. I picked up a pair of these and love them. They are perfect for hitting the trail or just taking my dog for a walk.

When I ordered these I was looking for a successor to my King MTs but with a bit more cushion.. BINGO!! Delivered today, 10 trail miles later along the Pacific.. Happy as a clam. Only issue is they seem to run a half size big. Close enough for an Ultra runner..

I've had several Altra shoes over the years but have passed on many of the recent editions of various models due to fit and durability (my Timp 1.5 lasted less than 150 miles before the sides blew out). Another issue I had was that the upper would painfully dig into my toes at the break in the forefoot (Superiors, Torins especially). I'd also found that the shoes were all getting more narrow. HOWEVER, all is well with the Lone Peak 5.0's! I got the standard width, size 10.5. They fit great with plenty of the roominess I've come to appreciate from Altra shoes. In other shoe brands I often wear size 11. For instance, in the Hoka Clifton 7s I wear an 11-wide. As for comfort, these are moderate cushion and provide you a good ground feel. For me, I'd be comfortable taking these up to a 50k. Beyond that, I'd be looking for something with more cushion. But the Ego midsole is awesome. Not quite as responsive as the Escalante, but that's what happens when you add all the lugs and stone guard. Overall, these feel like the type of Altra shoe that got me hooked several years ago.

The soles are nice and provide plenty of cushion while running. The Altra trail gaiters fit great too and I would recommend grabbing a pair of those as well to keep those pesky pebbles out of the shoe.

I use this shoe daily and on some of my hikes and man, what a shoe! Probably the best shoe I've ever worn. Going to buy another pair soon!
