I've loved and lived in past versions of this shoe especially the 4. This new version is VERY different. It so much more narrow!!! I did read reviews before buying saying the same thing. I ended up returning the pair I ordered. The shoe also didn't seem to be as well made.

These are absolutely adorable in photos. Unfortunately they were horribly uncomfortable for me. What looks like a design on the inside arch is a very stiff piece of material that does not move with my foot. I wanted to love these shoes so bad but I returned them.

I agree with everyone here that says this shoe is uncomfortable! I hate everything from the arch, the extra narrowness, the widely spread laces, the tongue. They are uncomfortable in multiple places. This is the worst redesign of this shoe and this would have been my third pair of this barefoot shoe. Will be returning for sure!

I regret not checking reviews before purchasing these. I have worn Merrell shoes for over 7 years, this is by far the most uncomfortable shoe. The shoes are NOT barefoot design, plus the arch feels like a hard ball pressing into my sole (no pun intended) and is true about what others say about the tongue. Now I understand why these are marked so low. Immediately returning.

Very cheap and too small - I had to return them. I always lived Merrells but now I'm questioning the quality

Narrow and uncomfortable couldn't believe I paid this price for Merrel I thought honestly thought they were better than this. Narrow and uncomfortable For a minimalist shoes there is no flex to the footwear. Honestly wouldn't call it a minimalist you. Don't buy. Disappointed that they even consider this minimal. It actually has a built-in arch. The whole point of being minimal is that there is no arch. What is even happening

I've been purchasing trail gloves for over 10 years. This is the only shoe I love to walk, run, hike in. However the 6 version is a downgrade in my opinion. They are terribly stiff and have been hard to break in. Additionally the added panel of fabric places some stitching right over the base of the 5th metatarsalit feels like a gigli saw trying to cut my 5th met in half while running. Nice blister after only an 8 mile run. I'm going to take them to a shoe shop to see if they can be blown out, but I wish Merrell would have stuck with the 4 or 5 versionthe design of those shoes was perfect.

Sorry to say, these are my least favorite pair of Merrell's and I own a lot of Merrell's. The old Trail Gloves are awesome and held up for years but this version isn't great. They're harder to put on than the other versions and the black part on the toe deteriorated after only wearing them a few times.

I immediately returned these shoes because they are extremely restrictive due to rigid stitching over the tongue of the shoe making the shoe permanently narrow and unable to break in.

I have a high instep and these are very difficult to get on. There's no give in the tongue. In 12 years, this is the first pair of Merrells that I've been unhappy with.

I have this same shoe in a different color and love them so I ordered the blue. I ordered a size 9 and it was too large so I reordered a 1/2 size smaller (8 1/2) and it felt too tight. Not sure what happened between my first pair and the blue ones. Love this shoe and wished it would have worked out.

Hi - I cannot rate this years Trail Glove 6 as it was too narrow for my medium width foot.
The last pair that I purchased would have rated 5 stars. Will you ever be making a wider version of the same shoe? Thanks!

These are horrible, do not buy!! They are so tight and narrow even though I went up a full size. They are ridiculously narrow and uncomfortable, no idea why anyone would make a shoe like this.

Liked previous versions of the trail glove better. This one has so much arch support that not only did it not feel like a barefoot shoe, it also hurt to wear since the arch did not fit the natural arch of my foot.

Ok, you guys, there are some competing reviews about size and I just want to come out on the side of THIS SHOE IS REALLY SMALL for the size. Also NOT WIDE at all. It's a shoe for a narrow foot. Wide toe box? Nope. I wear a 8.5 or 9 but this sucker was a 7.5 or an 8 when it showed up. I could fit my toes in. And it's not a very flexible (I mean, kinda) shoe so it's not like "hey, just get in there, it's supposed to be tight because it hugs your foot". Nope. It also just felt like it was plasticy. I don't know. Don't recommend. There's a better shoe out there that can help me get to the naked hiker. This ain't it.

I really wanted to like these, but they are so narrow, almost comically so. I returned them and went back to the Trail Glove 5.

I owned and loved both the Trail Glove 2 and the Trail Glove 4, so when my 4s wore out I knew I wanted to get a pair of Trail Gloves again. Sadly, the Trail Glove 6 is wildly narrow compared to the 2 and 4. Even going up a full size from my TG4s, the TG6s are still a bit narrower than my TG4s, and at a full size up they're too long anyway. This might be a good niche shoe for people with extremely narrow feet, but it's sadly no longer a good option for people with average or wide feet. I hope Merrell goes back to something more similar to the old fit in the next update. What a disappointing end to what was once a great shoe.

I returned these shoes because my foot would not go in them. I bought a half size bigger as I always do with Merrill's but I couldn't wear them. Very frustrating, I tried to call and the voicemail kept saying to send them back by going online. I never could talk to a live person.

If I'd ordered these from Amazon, I'd have thought they were cheap knockoffs. I own and love 3 pair of barefoot Merrell's in different styles and these shoes are nothing like them. They are very narrow. Not only is the toe much narrower than any barefoot shoes of any brand I've ever tried, the whole shoe is narrow and hard to get on (and I don't have wide feet). There is a non-stretchy band running from the lace holes, across the top of the shoe, to the lace holes on the other side so you can't open up the shoe much to get your foot in. The were instantly uncomfortable when I got them on. I photographed them next to one of my other Merrell's to show the difference in toe shape and width. They are both size 7. This shoe also felt a little shorter. Also, look at the instep part of the shoe. Instead of looking like intentional speckles, it just looks like they've been spattered with mud. My son thought they were used shoes when he saw them. I can hardly believe these are Merrells, they are so bad. And they certainly aren't typical barefoot style shoes. I hope this isn't the direction Merrell is taking their barefoot line because I'll be very sad to lose them as an option.

I am not entirely satisfied with this brand and style of foot wear. I have plantation fasciitis and arthritis in my feet. The reviews for this shoe indicated that it is a good shoe for these problems. Well, for me, these shoes were not. To try them, I tried them at home. It seemed to be okay, but I wore them to the gym and back, they were very uncomfortable. The shoes now looks worn so I won’t be returning them.

Horrible shoe! I am a big fan of Merrell. What they do well is make supportive shoes with big toe boxes that help you hike, or climb or ride a bike with good support. This shoe literally fails on all counts. I could not even get it on! It had some stupid big elastic band across the arch, and was made for someone who was MANY sizes smaller than what was marked. AWFUL> why would anyone think this was a good shoe, ever? Buy cheap ballet slippers. You'll get more out of them then this stupid thing.
