I purchased these shoes a week ago. My first pair was a size 7 because the salesperson advised me to size up. Do not size up. They were tight but too long and the arch support felt way off. I exchanged for a size 6.5 but the arch support was still uncomfortable but the 6.5 was no tighter. I followed another consumer's advice and loosened up the laces in the midfoot as much as I could and wore them for a 9 hour work shift . I thought for sure I'd have to switch shoes but they eventually started molding to my foot and they were actually comfortable. I'm excited to try them out on the trails this weekend.

Trail glove 5's (I've had four pairs of these because I love them for hiking) they were my favorite shoe ever! I decided to try the Trail glove 6's even though some of the comments were a little negative. The toe box is narrower than previous models, and the lacing makes it difficult to get your foot in. BUT if you size up by half a size and wear thick socks these are the BEST trail gloves yet. They have a little more to the sole, but after wearing them one two hikes they are worn in and insanely comfortable. They still have the barefoot feel to them which I love and need! Beyond happy with them!

I love my Merrell barefoot runners. This is my 6th or 7th pair and like all the others, they needed no breaking in.

I have worn the gloves for years and have always loved them. This new version has substaintial arch support, which threw me off at first as I am not used to such a stiff footbed. The toe area is still wide and soft, however, so they are very comfortable and I decided to keep them. I went on a hike with them right out of the box and I love them. For me, the added arch support is a plus - just enough but not too much - but for a purist who likes that super flexible barefoot feel, these might be too stiff. Love the color too, and the laces are much better than previous versions!

I am not familiar with past trail gloves, this is the first time I got a pair. Without comparing them to the past versions like many people seem to be, I love these shoes. Comfortable out of the box, very true to size, and just really like how they look and feel! I am super happy with this purchase and definitely would recommend them!

Background: Hiker / Backpacker here and I've tried all the popular "best" brands. I discovered years ago when I ran that low to 0 toe drop feels the best for me. Trail Glove 4 was by far my favorite! I actively HATED TG 5, walked across the house in them and immediately boxed them back up and ordered multiple TG 4's with fears Merrell would keep getting further from the 4's. TG 6's feel like a compromise between the 4 & 5's. Sized down from TG4's 9.5 to TG6 size 9. There is more arch in the 6's (the arch in the 5's didn't align with my feet) and a narrower fit overall but the laces really allow you to get a secure but not confining fit. Toe box is roomy but not as boxy as the 4's. It's also a bit firmer sole/shank but you still feel the ground. Dare I say I like the 6's better than the 4's. They are also better looking as a street shoe - something I didn't consider with the 4's. Size wise - 9 street shoe, 9.5 running shoe - 9 in these feel great Taking them on a 5 day backpacking trip and if I'm still feeling the love will stock up. So if you hated the 5's - check these out.

This is my first pair ever of a "barefoot" shoe. I really like them. They fit my foot so nicely and I wish I could wear them all the time bc my feet feel good in them and also feel good after I have been wearing them for long time and take them off. Generally I will experience cramps in my feet after having walked a lot or worn my Nike's for several hours and I have not had this happen since I got these shoes. Would definitely recommend them to others and will be buying more.

Very nearly perfect! I love these shoes-they are stiffer than my other Merrill's, but on trail runs it's just right. I also like having the arch for when I'm walking. My only issue is the seam near the big toe joint - it's very stiff and even after two weeks of heavy use can irritate my foot. I would love to see these in a Gore-Tex version and with a sock top, so that gravel and sand don't get in.

Just got these and love them. I play a lot of disc golf so I wanted something lite for in the woods. I saw some negative reviews so I was weary. They aren't barefoot but that's not what I wanted anyway. Also they look good in Jogger pants. Buy them. You will not be disappointed

I absolutely hate pinched toes and I am so pleased with how roomy the toe box is on these! As others have commented, zero need to break in-these were comfy right out of the box. I live the green color which I haven't really seen anywhere else. These are really lightweight and minimalist and frankly are very attractive on my feet. Highly recommend these for trail running, HIIT, or out and about town- nice and grippy too!

I have had these shoes for about 3 weeks and I love them. I didn't even have to break them in. I ordered my exact shoe size and when they came I thought I would need to order a half size bigger. But I opened them as wide as I could and got my foot into them, tied them up, walked around for a bit and they fit like a glove. Now I am glad I did not order a half size bigger. I like how they seem to hold me feet in place. I don't know how else to explain it. I broke my foot about 6 years ago and I always feel like my shoes don't protect my foot. But with these they just seem to hold them in place. I have no issues with getting them on and off. Love love love them.

I actually like these for walking on street. I prefer something more flexible for trail. The sole (Vibram) seems to absorb shock well. The fit is a bit more snug than typical, but I have walked miles in them without trouble or without the need for a break in period.

I run trails and while I would consider myself running in a minimally cushioned shoe, I have not gone this minimal before. I love these shoes! After my runs in them so far, my feet feel great! I do have some rubbing on the sides of my feet, thanks to some weak arches, but I'm hoping to strengthen them by wearing these.

Incredibly comfortable, even more than the Trail Glove 4 and with a bit more structure. At first, they felt a bit stiff and were harder to pull on since the shoe does not open wide even with the laces loose. That became easier after the first several days. The stiffness did not affect comfort, however - I have worn them for long hours right from day one with no break-in time or discomfort. They feel like a natural extension of my foot. My favorite shoe ever! I have narrow feet with high arches, and the B width is perfect.

This is a very comfortable shoe right out of the box. I found it to be true to size and it has a snug fit. I love the color and style, it looks good with workout and yoga pants or even jeans. This is my first time wearing a minimalist shoe and I am hooked. They are lightweight and have traction on every terrain i have been on so far. I would buy them again for sure.

Trail Glove 6's are great! Originally ordered 1/2 size smaller, but needed to stick with my usual size, which fits well.

My wife loves these and is one step closer to five fingers after realizing the power of being "barefoot" and that vibram sole... My only hope with this review is that you make men's shoes with this color scheme as they (men's colors) are too loud, but I don't want to wear anything else. I will definitely trade up my trail 4's (which one day shall die) for a pair of 6's when that happens.

If you've been on the edge about trying these, you need to jump in and get them now!!! They are so comfy right out of the box, they fit like a glove, the laces are easy to adjust, no need to be broken in and they run true to size. The difference in the natural way these help me move is amazing, especially on rough terrain like I've been taking these on, and the vibram rubber traction is incredibleI ran up and down some almost vertical slabs and loose scree with full confidence! The Trail Gloves will always be my favorite because they are so minimalist, grippy, and comfortable in every terrain. My family has loved every pair of Merrell's we've ever gotten, and they last forever.

I have had the trail glove 4, 5, and now 6. They just keep getting better! The fit is great, the laces are shorter(thank goodness) they seem more durable than the 5s but only time will tell there. Overall super happy. Love the trail glove line

First of all, the Trail Glove 6 - just like the 4 and 5 and every pair of Vapor Glove's I've ever owned - is a shoe that you can wear right out of the box. I don't know how this is possible, but the break-in period is almost non-existent. For someone that often wears their shoes down to their socks before getting another pair, this is an essential asset. Beyond that, the updates to the shoe are well thought out and well executed. The new lacing system helps secure a tighter, more even fit and the reinforcement seems to give more overall support. They feel and preform exactly as you'd want out of a minimal Trail shoe.
