I really love these. I have the green and brown ones. Super light weight. Gortex is fully waterproof up to the spill over near your ankles. I venture out in Maryland, so far these make my hikes and moderate climbs a breeze. Well done!

Great mix of old school hiker and light fitness trainer. Stretches a lot with wear so frequent re-ties are required.

I love the look of these shoes, but they just did not fit right to narrow in the toe box had to send them back.

I've purchased and worn Merrell's for many years and I have to say the performance of this brand on the trail is ok, but not great. The shoe is stiffer than other similar brands of Merrell and this causes some minor discomfort on the trail. Another uniquely unusual aspect of this shoe is that small pebble shards from the trail seem to make it inside on a regular basis. Maybe the opening is slightly larger? It's a pain.

These aren't tall enough to provide real ankle support. I like the cushion in the sole and they are waterproof. I've had a lot of trouble finding a way to lace these so that they are snug and comfortable.

Great shoes out of the box. Have taken them hiking for last 2 weeks in South Dakota Montana and now Seattle Washington. Comfortable waterproof and great traction. However souls are delaminating from body of shoes. Very disappointed

So far these are holding up better than a pair of Moab Speed GORE-TEX (low) that suffered horribly from collapsing inner heels. I only use these to walk around the neighborhood and for grocery shopping.

These run somewhat small and had a hard line at the back of the heel that wears into your foot it also has a narrow toe box. After 16 miles my feet were killing me. These are comfortable on flat ground but once you are on the trail these aren't the best shoes to be in. The insole is as thin as I've seen and there is very little padding around the ankle. The top of the shoe wore a nice cut into me ankle and I was wearing merrel socks to boot no pun intended. I'm giving it a three cause on flat to low inclined trails these are satisfactory for short distances.

Ran smaller and narrower than the non Gore-Tex version. HEAVY, but worked well on several hikes, except they really make your feet warm up and sweat. The platform is a little too stiff for my tastes, not much flex and you can't feel the trail. They get heavier the farther you like! But they have good ankle support.

The shoes are well built and fit appropriately, but its a huge letdown that they use a really cheap/thin/crappy insole with 0 support making the whole thing uncomfortable (especially in a shoe made for putting miles on)

I have been buying Merrill's for at least a decade. I buy them because of their out of the box comfort. This last pair I bought about a month ago gave me a blister on my rt achilles area. First time that has ever happened with Merrill's. I will probably buy another pair but if I experience any discomfort out of the box....return coming. Quality control HELLO!

I like Merrell boots. This is a lighter weight version of a hiking boot, almost like a sneaker. Very comfortable, but after just 3 months of daily wear the sole started to detach. Good for a single summer, but I would expect Merrell boots to last at least a year.

This is my 5th pair of Merrells. Got them when my old MOABs split at the heel. These are comfortable and lighter than regular MOABs, but are not nearly as durable. The soles are coming apart all over after about 6 months. I haven't even taken them hiking or anything, just wearing them to work. I like a lot of things about these shoes, but wouldn't buy them again. All other Merrell shoes soles I have are still in better shape than these and these are my newest shoes.

Great hiking shoe, lightweight and nice support, traction, comfort waterproofing and looks. But after only two weeks of hiking and fishing the toe cap is starting to peel off. Not impressed with the quality.

These boots are comfortable with some break in abs run true to size. However, after bringing them home, I noticed that they make an odd popping sound when I walk. What I found to be happening is that the material in the forefoot bunches when stepping and "pops" when I push off. That may sound minor but it's fairly noticeable and it drives me nuts. I've had various merrells throughout the years and I've never experienced anything like this. Is there some trick to lacing these? Will this stop with further break in? Really I just want merrells to bring the rovers and to a lesser extent the sawtooth back. The rovers were my favorite hiking boots and I wouldn't have settled on the Moab speeds if they were still around.

Make all your boots with a wide option. Whenever I see some Merrells that I like they're only available in regular width.

The stitching on the upper part of these mods are terrible. There is bare minimum for a stitch to hold and is falling apart after one use.

Everything was great except that the arch felt too far forward for me. I got a pair of Moab 2 Vent Mids that fit perfectly at the same time.

My wife and I bought these for rainy day hikes and walks. They are extremely comfortable. Today we did a 5 miles walk/hike in the rain. Not a frog-drowned rain but also not a drizzle. Sidewalk puddles were not very deep, an inch or two, no trail puddles were encountered. Our socks were wet, very wet. I wore a pair of Smartwool hiking socks. They weren't wet enough to wring out more than a few drops but they were uncomfortably wet. I am disappointed in the wet weather performance. I own a lot of Merrell shoes and these have been the least satisfying.

I bought these and have used them on 5 hikes so far. They do not have good traction, I slip all the time in these shoes. The bottoms have also started to separate away from the shoe and I am not happy about the quality.

This is my second pair of the Speed Mids and this pair has not been anywhere as close to the quality as my last pair. I have had these for a very short period and they are already starting to come apart on a few places. With that being said I know that Merrell has a great warranty on their products and I'm sure they will take care of me. I feel like their quality has decreased due to the "Vegan Friendly" adhesives the company has gone to. Other than the shoe construction, these are great, very comfortable, fast delivery and next to no break in period. Price point is very reasonable for a GORE-TEX shoe also.

I tried to wear a few days but were extremely uncomfortable and had foot and leg pain. There is no cushion. It's like wearing concrete blocks. I've bought several Merrill's in past but these are not worth it.

Very comfortable, very light. Waterproofing was true. Worn daily for 10+ hours in a mostly indoor work environment that required constant moving(not sitting around, on my feet, on the move). Shoe outsole has begun to come apart after 5 months. Although many types of shoes need replacing after 6-18 months of hard use, this shoe's durability fell quite a bit short of my experiences with other Merrell models such as the Moab 2, and the Chameleon 7 and 8. I have worn those other Merrell shoe models in the same environment, under the same circumstances, and more without issue. Maybe replacing insoles every 6 months. These shoes were very comfortable and light. Durability is the issue that will prevent me from purchasing this model again.

Tread started separating from the sole part way through second use on the trail. Disappointed in the durability. Will be enquiring about replacement.
