Just love the way these look! I am typically a size 7 to 7 1/2 in standard shoe, I take smaller in a Birkenstock (EU 37, however in this shoe I needed a 38. Love the blue canvas and I am planning to get the white leather as well.

LOVE THIS SHOE

This fit is excellent, and you should believe the other buyers that warned you to get the narrow if you wear a normal shoe. I like the color. They scuff fairly easily, but they have some dimension.

I am a long time lover of all things Birkenstock. This was the first pair of closed toe shoes I have from them. All my others are sandals of various styles. So regarding fit - all my sandals are a 39 and fit great. (I wear a 9M in most non-Birkenstock shoes.) But these shoes I bought the 39 and 40 and had to go with the 40. So maybe size up from your sandal size depending on what kind of feel you want. I wanted a bit of wiggle room for long days of walking on vacation. They are great style-wise too. Highly recommend!

Fir and size seemed normal to me

They fit just as they were advertised. They are just as comfortable as the sandals and clogs that I have been wearing for years. I am on my feet a lot and my feet are not sore at the end of the day.

Fits like other Birks - perfect!

Love the look of these. I went up one size and the fit is very good. Plenty of room in the toe box. I'm returning these because the sole is so stiff I have trouble going up and down stairs in them. They also eat my socks--no matter what type of sock I use.

felt too tight/stiff in toe box

I normally wear a 39; but had to return them and get a 40 because it was too tight on the right shoe, but that is not the shoes fault. I had surgery on that foot so that could be it. I have other pairs of canvas shoes and I wear a 8.5. Maybe the toe box is the issue? I got the narrow width so the larger size worked.

I bought these for my husband but the wide is too narrow. These definitely don’t seem as wide as the sandals. He has a hard time even getting them on his feet

Looked like clown shoes on me. Disappointed, as I usually love Birks.

I love the comfort of the insole. I wear a 38r in sandals and 39R in shoes. Unfortunately my toes were hitting the end of the shoe in the 39R and I was afraid that with the 40 it wouldn’t hit my arch properly so sadly I returned them. Zappos is the ultimate in customer service.

I usually wear a size 41 narrow, in the Birkenstock sandals, but had to exchange these for a size 42, they felt a bit small in the toe length. Otherwise, they are quite comfortabke, not as “soft” as a running shoe, but nice for just casual/street wear.

This is a well styled good looking shoe. Unfortunately the arch is too high for my foot, which made it too uncomfortable for me to keep.

I purchased the canvas slip on style; but wanted these because they are more of a tennis shoe look. But the toe box on this shoe is too tight on my right foot. I guess the slight difference in the toe box on the slip ons make them work better so unfortunately; I will be returning these:-(.

I love Birkenstocks, and I love the look of these shoes, but these run small. I ordered a size larger than I wear in sandals, and they are too small. I hoped after wearing them for a while, they would relax and form to my foot, but it hasn’t happened. If I was to order again, I would order another size larger and not the narrow (as I wear in the sandals and slip on’s).

These run big. I usually wear 7/7.5 narrow in Birkenstocks. But I have tried my normal tricks to keep shoes on my narrow feet. Tighten the laces all the way up. Cut the laces so I don’t have laces flopping around looking dumb. They are still so loose I can slide them off and on w out untying them. They make my socks come off inside w the back rubbing up and down. So I can only wear them barefoot.

I’ve had two pairs of these shoes and the same thing happened to both of them. The rubber coating on the sole gets holes in it well before the shoe should wear out. Water gets in through the holes and the cork Birkenstock insert soaks it up like a sponge. Terrible design. It’s a shame as I love the style and find these very comfortable. But they don’t hold up as well as they should for a sneaker that costs this much.
