I was not a Hoka fan until I wore this shoe. It is the perfect daily trainer up to tempo day shoe, and for those who do not have separate racing shoes, it could easily be a marathon shoe.

I have a heavy manual labor job and am on my feet, on concrete, all day long. These make it a joy to work in, even after 12+ hours in them. But they also bring a great lockdown on the forefoot so I can move quickly (and comfortably) all at the same time. Love these Mach 4's! Keep it up Hoka!

I've taken the Mach 4s out for a few 10k runs this season and so far they are worth every penny. I'd recommend them to anyone with even the slightest interest in running. They're fantastic shoes at a great price and I'd definitely consider buying them again.

Ran exclusively in the Mach 4 for a 10 day vacation. Intervals, easy, tempo and a 20 mile long run- It's a perfect shoe for all of it. Very light, responsive and fun. Didn't feel chunky like the Clifton 7 and has just the right amount of ground contact.
Upper & lockdown: 9/10 fit like a glove! Gussetted tongue was great but could have a little more padding in the next version- but not too much! Heal cup was perfect.
Midsole: 8/10 It was perfect under the heal. Just enough cushion if I had an occasional heal strike. Would love a little more cushion under the forefoot as that was a little thin. I weight 155 lbs and felt I was maxing out the fore foot cushion and starting to feel the ground. It's good for me but anyone over 180 might feel under cushioned. Add 6-8% more cushion in the midsole please! Drop and ride is perfection.
Not the most durable shoe. Probably gonna get 300-400 miles out of them but that's okay! You could run all your runs in this shoe, but save it for days you need a "pick me up" and just want a fun shoe! I'll be using these for trackwork, tempos, and steady-easy days I want a fun, light and plate free shoe. It is my go to vacation shoe as I often only have room for one pair of shoes in my bad. It is a truly "do it all" versatile shoe at a fair price.

I've been running in Hokas for 6-7 years (mainly Cliftons and Rincons) - both of which I still like. I've added the Mach 4 into my rotation and couldn't be happier. Great shoe!

So far it's been a really great shoe. I just retired my Rincon 2 and bought these. The feel of the shoe is great. My foot stays in place, no slipping. More wear and tear than I thought I would have after 30+ miles on road. I'll update this review once I go over 100 miles.

This is my first pair of Hoka and will be a returning buyer when I retire this pair. Light and stable! Great shoe!

Wow, what an amazing shoe it has been straight out of the box. At first, I was a bit scared to tryout a new shoe brand and was worried about my sizing. Before trying out the Mach 4, I had painful runs with the Pegasus 37, Beacon V3, and 1080V1 straight out of the box. I average about 20 miles a week, and so far, I enjoy the comfort and smoothness of the shoe while I run. I will be alternating between the Mach 4 and Pegasus 36 for now. Will be buying another pair of Hoka One One in the upcoming days. The 30 day guarantee is an added bonus. I only wish they would had offered a red variant of the Mach 4.

I am a runner plus a P.E. Teacher. So I am on my feet a lot. I am very picky on my footwear & I currently have 5 pair of Hoka's in my shoe rotation.

Hoka Mach 4 is probably the best running shoe I have ever purchased from HOKA. They are very responsive and the extra heel support is outstanding. The Mach 4 also feels really light on my foot, and feel like there is good support even from a neutral shoe.

No break-in period, incredibly light weight, not too narrow nor wide, and looks great. Doubled-up already so I can rotate

I love pretty much everything about this shoe. It's cushioned, but responsive and a great daily trainer, especially for someone who logs a lot of miles, but still likes a versatile shoe. The upper is comfortable, though a bit narrow in the forefoot in my opinion (a common complaint I have with Hokas, but might just be my foot shape). Th other downside I see for this shoe is durability. Because the outsole is exposed foam I am already seeing a good amount of wear and tear after just 50 miles.
All in all it's a great and fun shoe. Highly recommend.

The heel to toe drop is significant enough to feel but not over powering. Encourages non heel striking. Very light and comfortable. Toes are wide enough to allow splaying but tight enough to provide support
