I?ve owned several different Ghost?s and a couple Glycerine. The Ghost wore much better than the Glycerin in the past. Hopefully the Glycerin 19 wear better than the 2 other pair of Glycerin 18. If not I will go back to the Ghost.

I wanted to like these shoes more, but a couple of things kept me from it. I upgraded from the Revel 4 to the Glycerine to get some more cushion for longer runs. I?m 60 miles in but I?ve already gotten black toenails. The toe box is smaller than I expected (and to be fair I have hammer toes) so I adjusted my lacing to lock my heel in. Now I?m getting a lot of chafing on my Achilles? tendon. Not bad shoes but depending on your foot shape these are some things to look out for.

I have had really bad calf issues, tears, etc and this shoe has helped soothe the legs and make it possible to run again, baby steps but so far it?s been great

Some reviewers have found the toe space too narrow. I am very sensitive to toe space, and do not find that to be a problem with these shoes. That is a big reason I stay with Glycerin.

I miss the Transcend. This shoe provides good cushion and support. But heel (Achilles tendon) blisters in the bargain.

I took other reviewers advice and sized up. . . And still, I've never met a "D" width shoe that narrow. I have a pretty standard 4" wide foot and these shoes smashed my toes and forefoot together brutally. And this was with a thin swiftwick sock. I didn't even bother trying to lace them up, or even stand up in them. I simply put them back in the box and requested a return. Based on the lack of tags and the way they were laced when I received them, I'm guessing someone else also returned them.

I made the leap and purchased this very expensive pair of shoes, and I was disappointed. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The shoe lacks support, is too soft, and runs very small. The base was almost gummy, and created a fair amount of instability when running anything over 6 miles. Brooks was great to work with in regards to their return policy, and I was able to get a full refund upon return. The shoe may work for you, it just didn't do the job for me.

This is my second pair of the Glycerin 19 shoes and I am happy with the fit and comfort! I am not fond of the white color but it was the only one available in my size.

I am a 12.5 in athletic shoes. Brooks and ASICS are among the few that offer that size. Glyerin 19 definitely has more cushioning than my recently purchased Ghost 14. I have been an ASICS fan for years and they are still a great shoe but both the Cumulous and Nimbus that I have purchased have, in my opinion, inferior laces and lacing system. ASCICS laces turn into worn narrow ropes that twist constantly after moderate use. The Ghost 14 is, for me anyway, the best in terms of lacing (r-photo). It will be interesting to see how the Glycerin 19 lacing performs as the laces and the lacing system unfortunately looks very similar to the ASCICS.
I'd also recommend:
ASICS

As a Brooks wearer for 30 years I can honestly say that I love this brand. Ran in Adrenalines for years, switched to Glycerins for cushioning - tore Achilles 5 years ago, back in Glycerins and no issues. That is, until now. The 19s tear my right heel to pieces at anything over 5 miles. Not sure if it's a manufacturing issue with the heel collar as it only happens in the right hand shoe. Horrible blisters. Contacted service and, although a super nice guy, the advice I received was to buy a new pair of Ghosts. Being loyal, I'll probably wait to version 20 and try again, but I'm really disappointed. The rest of the shoe is as good as ever, midsole, outsole, upper, all class. Heel counter sucks on that RHS.

Wonderfully comfortable! As you get older, shoes either feel right or they go back. These are keepers!

Cushion is great, they seem narrow, and the top of the heels is weird. Mine somehow got folded over and now they are un-wearable

Brooks drastically changed the fit for the Glycerin 19. The Glycerin 18 fit me well but the 19's don't at all. I tried a size 9.5 and size 10. Neither worked. It would be nice if Brooks would stop drastically changing the fit of a given shoe line.

I always wear a 10 1/2 but that size was too small. The 11 felt perfect like a 10 1/2. I would recommend ordering a half size larger than normal.

I have worn glycerin since the 9s. I haven?t loved every change, but they?ve all been wearable. This isn?t. Where?s the toe box?! Why is the shoe all of a sudden sizes shorter? What is going on with the top of the heel? I?m very disappointed.

These shows saved my running career! I have been a runner since High School decades ago. I?ve done many marathons, triathlons, and every kind of run in between. I used to be a big Nike lover, even went out of my way to fly to New York to get my hands on new releases before marathons. But over the past few years I have begun getting foot, hip, knee problems and thought my running days were over. Until I tried these. They?re amazing. Soft as advertised. My feet feel like they?re in a cloud. I?m back up to running regularly, 4-5 miles every other day, speeds are back up and feel amazing.

I have had several pairs of glycerin the 15 and 18 's were my favorites. These are sized small and when I went half size up way too big. Both sizes I have my feet slide in. Not near as comfortable as the 18's I have had 4 pair. Had to find the 18's to wear to work these were too uncomfortable for 9 hours on my feet

Love them! Secure, comfortable, and light. Average about 35-40 miles a week and it?s been very enjoyable. Much Thanks! Would love to get the black and white pair so be sure to forward this to whom may have control over that ?
