Thanks to Brooks for sending me some free Glycerin 19s to review. The shoes were received free in exchange for an honest review. This was my first time in Glycerins and I have put over 70 miles on them so far. The upper is very comfortable and has a sock-like fit. The cushioning ride is perfect and well balanced. They feel completely natural from the first time trying them on to the end of a 15 miler.

I was offered a Glycerin 19/Glycerin GTS 19 for free to write an honest opinion and I chose size 8.5 and dark color. I have been a Brooks Running customer for a long time, and the Glycerin 19 did not disappoint this time. It fits me very well and feels very comfortable. I am now wearing it every day, especially if I go out for a walk. Highly recommended for joggers and slow walkers.

I've been running daily for 40 years and have developed chronic plantar fasciitis that made running difficult and painful for my feet. I was able to try the Glycerin 19 free of charge in exchange for an honest opinion on a promotion and these shoes are amazing! No more pain! The new glycerin 19 are so comfortable to run in. These shoes are extremely light, stable, and have the extra support needed for the perfect balance! I've been able to run smoother and faster with less effort.

The Glycerin has been my favorite running shoe for more than a decade, since a salesperson at a local running store strongly recommended the shoe and sold me my first pair. Since then, I have purchased more than two dozen Glycerins, many of those online. So, I was thrilled when Brooks contacted me and offered me a free, pre-release pair of the Glycerin 19s if I would evaluate them and submit a review. I have now logged over 90 miles in the shoes and feel that the 19 is a significant upgrade over prior versions. Firstly, you should know that I am a recreational runner and run two courses at least 3 to 5 times per week, carefully competing against my historical splits on a GPS watch. One of my courses is 9.4 miles of pavement; the other is 10.55 miles of pavement and dirt trails with approximately 2040 feet of climbing. However, at 61 years old and particularly while running on dirt trails, I now have to be careful now to avoid injuring my feet and knees, as I?ve learned the hard way that injuries occur more often and take longer to heal than they did when I was in my 30s. Shoes are critical for this, and that?s where the Glycerins play a key role for me. When running with all versions of the Glycerins, I?ve never experienced blisters or sore knees or toes, irritations that were chronic with the brands of shoes that I wore before I discovered Brooks. This was due to a number of the Glycerin?s qualities: the plush cushioning in the sole, the thickly padded tongue, the smooth fabric lining the heel, and the large toe box that allowed my toes to spread out and breath during long runs. These qualities are the reasons I love the shoes. They are my favorite running shoe. The only drawback I ever noticed with prior versions of the Glycerins was that when running on trails during summer months when the dirt in California is hard, uneven, and cracked, the shoes felt less stable. I felt as if my foot would have a tendency to bend outward when my foot landed on unseen cracks in the dirt, gopher holes or cow hoof marks. During these months I would switch to running in the Brooks Transcend, my other go to shoe. Even though the transcends felt more stable, they never felt quite as plush as the Glycerins, and switching back to the Glycerins was always a pleasant experience. Support is where the Glycerin 19s really excel and are set apart from prior versions. The 19s feel more stable and more form fitting, not snug or tight, but more like a custom-made shoe. Brooks didn?t let me know the exact design changes they made, but the shoes feel as if the fabric on the upper is more robust and does a better job of integrating with the guide rails to secure the foot. The heel also feels more robust and as if it lands ?flatter? than previous versions. Yet, the plushness in the forefoot cushioning and the width of the toe box that I mentioned earlier have not been lost. These changes, while not many, are significant and give the Glycerin 19s a more secure and confident feel. I no longer have any reservations about wearing them year-round and wholeheartedly recommend them. They are my favorite running shoe, and I give them 5 stars.

In December Brooks asked me to evaluate their Glycerin 19 version and provided a free pair in exchange for an honest evaluation. I have exclusively used Brooks products for the past 8 years and during that time have run in Launch, Ghost and Glycerin. I am 62, 6?3? & 210 so cushion and support are important to me. Because of this I have most recently settled on the Glycerin. As soon as I put on the shoes provided I noticed how comfortable they were. They felt soft, comfortable, light and had plenty of room to adjust for keeping the shoe loose or lacing them up tighter. During the test runs the cushioning seemed to cover the entire sole of the shoe and lasted from beginning to end. Since they felt so light (and were lighter than the current Glycerin 17 I use because I weighed them ) I was nervous that they would not provide the support I was used to or needed. After the first 1/4 mile I could tell they provided the support I require and seemed to provide pretty good recoil as I hit and pushed on each step and the completion of the run felt the same as the start of the run. I test ran 4 additional days that week and felt the same comfort & support during each run. What I couldn?t test was how many miles I would get from the shoe. Traditionally Brooks seem to do me well approximately between 250 and 300 miles so I would not expect any less with this shoe. Bottom line, I liked the shoe very much, felt the support and comfort I need and look forward to future runs and can?t wait till we get to race again.

I run every day (7+ years without missing a mile) and have relied on Brooks for my shoes since 2006. In that time, I have fluctuated between the Adrenaline, Ghost, Cascadia (for trail running), Launch (for track workouts), and most recently, the Glycerin. My first experience with the Glycerin was the 18, which I purchased in March 2020. It immediately became my favorite go-to shoe for daily running and weekend long runs; and over the course of 2020 I eventually purchased 3 pairs. Due to my frequent purchase from Brooks, I received a pair of Glycerin 19s free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I must say, without question, the Glycerin continues to be the gold standard for running shoes on the market today. It's well cushioned without feeling bulky, lightweight with plenty of support, and versatile for daily runs, long runs, and road races. Although on the pricey side, it is worth every penny. This is a shoe meticulously designed by runners for runners and will serve you well for your morning 5k or your weekend half-marathon. I give it my full endorsement.

I did a test run in my Brooks Glycerin 19 shoes. These shoes where given to me free of charge from brooks running to test them out in exchange for my honest review. These shoes fit true to size, comfortable and the cushioning made me feel like I was running stronger. I did not feel any discomfort on my knees or my lower back during my run or after my run. I am pleased with these shoes and I highly recommend them. I am looking forward to my next run. Troy H.

Comfy. Comfy. Comfy. I am an avid Brooks supporter and have been running with Glycerin for several years. I change shoes every 3 months, which is approximately 500 miles. So, on January 1, 2021, I put on a new pair of Glycerin 18. A week later, I get an email from Brooks asking me if I would try a new pair of Glycerin 19 (for free) and provide an unbiased review. Who would not want a new pair of free shoes? So, I said yes and received my new pair of Glycerin 19 and took off running. I was surprised at the softness and comfortableness of these shoes. They provided a soft run, while at the same time providing the stability that I need. While doing all this, they are extremely light. There was no soreness to my knees or my feet. It almost felt like I was running on cushions. In addition, the pair they gave me were good looking. My wife said I should wear them as my everyday shoes. There is no doubt, if you run with the Glycerin 19 shoes, you will Run Happy!

I received the new Glycerin 19's free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion, which I will say is no less than amazing! Back in the 80's, I used to watch Bob Ross do these amazing paintings and cringe when he kept adding stuff to a painting I thought already looked amazing. I soon realized that it actually made the painting look better! Well, I feel the same way about these Glycerin 19's! I have been using ONLY the Glycerins for over 10 years now and they just keep getting better! The new 19's actually feel a little lighter to me than the 18's and the mesh fabric makes for even better ventilation! I also have to say, especially since my feet wouldn't win any awards for visual appeal, that the toe box does a better job of accommodating imperfect feet like mine! You will NOT be disappointed with the upgrade from the 18's. They just keep getting better!

I started running about eight years ago--in my early 50?s--an alternative to buying a sports car. With aging joints I depend on good support for my feet and knees, and to keep running I want good comfort. A bucket list goal was the Boston Marathon which I have run twice?it was worth all the hard training and I hope to run it again. I have run in different brands and models, but I?ve settled on the Brooks Glycerin. I recently received a pair of Glycerin 19?s from Brooks for free in exchange for my honest opinion. Glycerins were first recommended to me by my chiropractor and have since been my choice for distance running. The Glycerin 19 stays true to its predecessors. It is very comfortable?somehow the 19 seems even more comfortable to me than previous models?not sure how Brooks does that! I am a heel to toe runner, and the transition I get in Glycerins is smooth and supported. I like the upper mesh which fits snug but not too tight. I try to run on dirt as much as I can, but when I?m on pavement, I enjoy the soft feel I get from the Glycerins. The 19 will remain my ?go to? for more bucket list runs.

Brooks Glycerin 19 Review Background: 59 years old Weight: 155 Height: 5?10 Shoe Size 11 Medium Arches Mileage: Anywhere from 15-30 miles per week depending on upcoming races Pace: Training 8:45-9:30 Racing 7:20 - 7:45 Disclaimer: I did receive the Brooks Glycerin 19 free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. Fit: I always order my running shoes a size larger to accommodate orthotics. I ordered the Glycerin 19 in Size 11 and they fit perfectly with the orthotic. The Glycerin 19 was comfortable out of the box. There was no break in period needed or any areas that felt ?funny?. Toe Box: There was plenty of the room in the toe box. The show did not feel like they were squeezing my toes together. I had plenty of room for my feet to spread out yet my feet felt secured. There was no moving around inside the shoe Heel: The fit in the heel was snug and the collar felt supportive. The two raised chevrons on both sides near the top of each collar added an extra bit of comfort and support. Laces/Tongue: I usually lace my running shoes without using the last two eyelets. I do lace my shoes fairly tight however this does not make the Glycerin 19 feel constrictive. The tongue was soft and stayed in place during my runs. Upper: The material was well ventilated. My feet never felt hot during any of my runs. I will say that it has been cool in New Jersey this time of year. When I do compare the ventilation holes to the previous version of the Glycerin I do notice that the Glycerin 19 has slightly larger ventilation holes. I do not anticipate any over heating issues with this shoe. Running performance: I train on a variety of surfaces (my 59 year old body can?t handle the roads for every run). I use a treadmill, track, dirt trails and road. I would estimate that only 20% of my runs are on the road. The shoe was flawless on all surfaces. I tend to be a mid sole - heel to toe runner. I particularly enjoy the level of cushion with the Glycerin 19. They were soft yet not squishy. I did notice that the Glycerin 19 had a bit more responsiveness than previous models. The midsole had enough flexibility when landing and also pushing off. The shoe did not feel stiff like many shoes can in this area. I think that the last thing runners should notice are the shoes they are wearing. I barely noticed the Glycerin 19. Even on the hard surface of the road the cushioning took the harshness out of the equation. I used the Glycerin 19 for a track workout several times. They did not disappoint. For a cushioned neutral training shoe they did not hold me back. I may not be as fast as I was in my 20?s and 30?s but it was good to put the Glycerin 19?s to the test on the track. They handled well around the curves and had a certain bounce to them that I enjoyed. The trails I run are mostly flat singletrack. There are a few roots (more on that later) and the glycerin were fine on the dry section. There were a few muddy areas from recent rainstorms and the shoe slid around a bit but this may have happened regardless of the shoe. The tread of the shoe is not made for aggressive trail running. If it wasn?t for the muddy sections the tread would have been fine. The best part of the Glycerin 19 is after the run. My feet and legs do not feel sore. I had a recent injury about 1 month ago spraining my ankle while running the trails (stepping on a root). I was not sure what to expect when using the Glycerin 19 after the injury. I was hesitant on my first run in the Glycerin 19. The cushioning and support did not put any extra stress on my ankle ligaments. In fact my ankle felt fine after each of my runs and I had more confidence in my ankle because of the Glycerin 19. I can?t say they will cure injuries but if someone was coming back from any type of injury the cushioning of the Glycerin 19 can?t hurt. Overall: I have been running for over 40 years and have always looked for cushioned trainers. In the Brooks line I have worn the Adrenaline, Ravenna, Launch, Pureflow, Pure Cadence and Ghost. I currently am using the Ghost 13 and Glycerin 18. I can say that the Glycerin 19 does not disappoint. They are a great training shoe that even will hold up on the track. Comfortable out of the box with a fit and finish to match. It is hard to find any negative aspects of the Glycerin 19. There was a loose thread on the label on the tongue (I simply cut that off). The only thing I can say is that the Glycerin should be offered in a variety of colors (I received the all white and they are hard to keep clean). Tony Mancini Vineland, New Jersey
