Wonderful trail running shoes! The sole is comfortable (but not cushy/squishy) and stable. They block rocks/sharp objects from poking at one's feet while providing a good feel of the terrain. I have narrow, sensitive non-runners' feet and was really happy with them. I run on a towpath that is substantially dirt covered, but has plenty of stones, tree roots and ruts. I like these shoes and recommend them.

Shoe feels light under foot. Very responsive, yet gives plenty of protection to your feet on trails. Put about 30 miles on the white trail shoes and they have remained fairly clean. Can push the pace in this shoe, if you so desire!

Definitely a different feel than previous Brooks shoes (Ghost and pure series). Very supportive upper. Great arch support. The sole material is rather hard and lacks traction on damp or wet pavement however is great on the trail (which is what the shoe is designed for). Overall very pleased with the shoe out of the box.

Great fit & weight... But most importantly the rock plate absorbs the technical, rocky terrain I deal with on local trails without killing ground feel!

Love the catamount! It snows a lot where I live and I wasn't too sure how these trail running shoes would do on padded snow. They work perfectly and they have a pretty decent amount of grip on padded/slushy snow. Even after doing a few runs on snow, I haven't felt my feet getting wet at all which is great. If these shoes are already doing great on snow, I can't wait for after winter and go on more trails! Definitely a bit more on the stiffer side but not a lot to where it's uncomfortable. Aside from the great quality, the looks are also great! Love the colors and the style.

When I first put these on the (right) shoe was very snug in the arch middle section more than usual compared to the (Left) as this is normal with my feet. Feels just as bouncy as my Glycerin's. I was worried a bit but after walking around the block they were perfect without any discomfort. Almost feels like when I am walking or running that they are launching me forward. I am really happy I got these for hiking / running on the trails.

Basically the Hyperion Tempo made for trails. These shoes feel like race cars on my feet on the trails. Great shoes!

My fav shoe yet from brooks- I used to live on stoneway I'm wallingford. Always a fan. I'm an artist painter and runner. These shoes caught my eye and imagination by the canvas aspect- I wanted a fast shoe for this particular race 50k mountain race. It was amazing, grip was perfect, cushion and toe box room for my wide feet. The rock plate is essential for the success in that other speed trail shoes don't offer what the catamount does. I wanted to paint some flare to it, making them stand out, everybody noticed and I felt faster in it. Special shoe for a special day. I placed 6th. Maybe we could collaborate on a shoe? I am indigenous and a new colorful shoe designed by a native artist, proceeds going to indigenous led climate organizations or trail etc would be stellar. Give it a thought, I've always been a fan of brooks. Let's do 2021 with some color

These foot sockets are amazing! They flex quickly and return to form, they're lightweight and fairly grippy on rocky terrain. I used to run cascadia and may return to that for the really rocky trails on long runs, but for anything under 20 miles on trail these are amazing. I felt like they could use just a bit more padding in the front area of the foot for long trails, but maybe that's a dumb thought because it will make the front part of the foot have to work harder. The color was my least favorite thing at the outset but after splashing some trail mud on them it actually looks pretty fun.

The catamount is an incredibly well thought out shoe. It has a great combination of cushion and response. It can easily handle difficult terrain, asphalt and gravel equally well. It also has the ability to be used for ultra distances. Well done , Brooks! Keep up the good work.

The shoes performed very well on an wet, muddy, icy, rooty, and rocky 25k with several trips through water. They drained well, however the bright white color is a thing of the past.

Great shoes! Very comfortable on the trails. Nice grip up and down hill with uneven terrain and smooth rock trails with dry dust over the top of the rocks (SoCal area). The only thing holding me back was the 15 lbs of Christmas Cookies around my waist! ? Shoes get a bit dusty with the white but that just shows you have been out on the trails!

Great all-around trail shoe. A little stiff at first but really softens up after a few longer runs. The foam on these also holds up super well. Actually work great on icy trails as well as rocky uneven terrain

My favorite running shoes I?ve ever owned. I?ve had mine for a month and have put well over 100 miles on mine on a combination of trail and road. They are still in great shape. Even white enough to wear casually still!!

I was a little hesitant on this shoe at first but after my first run that went away. This shoe fits snug and is on the firmer side but for technical trails that is what I wanted. I just finished running the RIM2RIM2RIM in them and they worked out perfectly. They were comfortable all the way to 50 miles and forgiving when I caught a sharp rock.

Just when I thought the cascadia 14 were the perfect shoes brooks comes out with this masterpiece. With all the mountain running I do these are perfect for those rugged New England trails

I've been wearing Brooks for over a decade now, and I have to say the Catamounts are my favorite shoe they have ever made. Very light, yet the right amount of stability and energy return. Perfect amount of grip for going down loose gravel and climbing rocks. The one issue I had originally, and many others have mentioned below, is the shoe only being offered in white. I thought for sure they would get super dirty on the first run, and yes they did, but after I came home I thought that maybe that was the intended design aesthetic. Basically you are adding color by logging more trail runs, like a blank canvas to paint your own masterpiece of lived adventures. In summary, if you want a light, neutral, grippy trail shoe to take your training to the next level, these are a sure bet.

Best trail shoe I have worn in awhile! I usually bounce between different brands but so far this has been my go to all fall season so far! Getting a second pair soon.

Bought this pair for some long distance urban hikes the last two Sundays (Oct 11, Oct 18) and after 44 miles I am ready for more. Since June I've walked over 300 miles in Los Angeles County in 20+ mile segments and I would have loved these in June. My first pair and they will not be the last!
