I've been running in these for just over a year now and they have helped me take my trail running to the next level! This shoe is a very nice blend of fast and cushion for crushing cruiser trails, while also giving you enough technical component to handle gnarlier terrain. A good majority of my trail runs also involve some pavement getting to and from trails (anywhere from 2-3 miles per run) and while not designed for road use, these trail shoes actually feel pretty decent on pavement. Definitely a big of volume in the shoe (especially in the toe box), but I'd still consider it a normal width shoe. My first pair got to about 600-650 miles before I really felt like the cushion had broken down (about one year of pretty hard use and 5 50k races), so for a lighter weight trail shoe, I got what I'd consider great use out of it. I also didn't experience any rips or seam tears on the upper, so major props there. Re-upped with two new pairs, hoping I can get a few years of hard use of these new pairs. Brooks, please don't make any major changes to this shoe! You've truly made a winner with this one.

Great trail shoe for technical trails. Feels like your footing is sure and can maneuver easily on inclines, declines, rocks , roots and mud!

The Catamount has a very similar fit and feel to the Levitate, my go-to road shoe. Great option for trail running on sand and gravel. Highly recommended.

I really like these shoes so far. I'm an experienced runner, but not an experienced trail runner so take it with a grain of salt - but they feel light, fast, and responsive. The grip is awesome. Have run on wet, PNW forest trails mostly so the ground isn't too firm but I've found them to be plenty comfortable as well. I was worried that they'd be too minimalist and not have enough cushion and stability because of the lightweight upper and relatively thin base, but I have had no issues. I have only put about 25 miles on them, so can't speak to durability or comfort on runs longer than ten miles yet. Otherwise I have no reservations in recommending them!

I really like this shoe! Fast, fits my foot well. Traction is enough, but not too much. Feels a lot lighter than my cascadias.

Light and nimble. Easily handles moderately technical trails. The drainage slits are a nice feature when crossing creeks. The dna flash makes these the trail version of my favorite racing shoe: Hyperion tempos. Runs slightly big but allows space for toe protection. Definitely my favorite trail shoe

These are my favorite Brooks I have ever owned. They are great for trail running or a hike. They feel fast and responsive while still having some support. The traction provided by the tread pattern is great.

Shoes feel quality. The are light, breathable, and seem to be durable. Haven't been able to wear them much yet but overall, very happy with them. Only downfall is the price.

Took longer to break in than previous trail shoes. But after 30 miles they're fast and great on trails/gravel

One of the best pair of running shoes I've ever owned. I've churned through quite a bit of shoes over the years and developed a number of foot ailments. The support with the the catamounts are SUPERB! I will be purchasing another pair.

This is a fantastic shoe. It handles extremely rocky trails well, with no rocks or roots coming through the footbed, and has sufficient cushion for short-medium trail runs. (I don't know about 15+ km runs because I don't do them with any regularity.) At the same time, it feels light and fast when I want to pick up the pace. I loved this shoe from first trying it on in the store, so perhaps that is something to consider when looking. I'm not sure if it would change with wear for some runners, it has not for me. Just as comfortable with 150+ km on it as when new, so I plan to buy a replacement pair soon.

Love it, I took my sneakers on a trip to Costa Rica, and they are super comfy and they have excellent grip even in rainforest terrain.

Out of the box, these were somewhat uncomfortable for a Brooks shoe (it needs a thin insole pad), but after a couple of runs, they became one with my feet. They are light, snappy, provide good rock protection, and deliver solid traction on wet rocks, gravel, and grass. The lugs are short, so they're not great in snow or mud. Glad they're in my closet and on my feet a couple of times a week.

I have about 40-50 miles in them, and I am very happy with these shoes. I use them both on trail and pavement as a part of my rotation with another pair of runners. I primarily lean on them when I know I will be on trails or off pavement, but I have been happy when using them for pavement-specific running as well. I ordered them in size 11 which is my typical running show size in other brands and in previous Brooks running shoes and love the fit. In my experience they hug the heel and have a nice, roomy toe box which is my preferred fit. They feel light on foot and felt comfortable with minimal break-in time. In colder weather I would suggest a thicker sock as these are breezy, but I welcome that feature in the coming summer months. Through about 50 miles I notice very little, if any wear other than the mud splatters of some fun trail runs. I will look to purchase these again in the future once this pair has been through its paces.
