I am extremely disappointed in Asics. I have purchased over 30 pairs of Nimbus shoes and run marathons in all 50 states wearing them. I have attributed my success as a runner to finding good quality shoes that provided a firm but flexible, neutral running solution for a larger but higher mile runner. I have carefully tracked mileage and durability over the years and have actual data (on a spread sheet that includes mileage from every run on each pair of shoes) that shows how the shoe performance has changed over the years. So, I have been disenchanted with what I perceive as cheapening of this shoe over the past few versions. The 23 simply sucks and will be the last I buy. You have ruined a great shoe. I encourage you to go back about 10 generations and look at what a great running shoe looks and performs like as these newer ones just miss the mark. It may be more profitable to sell to casual runners or those looking to make a fashion statement but comes at the detriment of previously loyal runners.

Shoes are super comfy! The color is really pretty would have preferred if the pattern didn’t look like camo… I’ve worn these for THREE days at work and the tread is separating from the shoe!!! :(

The toe box in the 23 is way too narrow. The 22 was much better. I had to return these.

I bought the shoes a little over a month ago at first few runs I was very happy with it whoever, I recently did a 10k run and upon returning home I notice a hole in the toe box area I didn't except that to happen this quick. Overall it's not a bad shoes but, its not durable if you run a lot.

Sooooo. I have been wearing the Asics Gel Nimbus for the past 10 years. I have a true 4e wide foot, and have never had issues with the Asics 4E's until this model. The last best model for me were the 20's. So good, I bought 3 pair. Fast forward to today, time for a new pair of shoes. Based on the reviews, I purchased the 23's in the 4E hoping the width would be true to size as they had been in the past. Unfortunately, the Nimbus 23's (marked "Extra Wide" no longer marked 4E) were way too narrow. I would put them at maybe a EE width. Tried on just one shoe and immediately knew there was no way they would work. Maybe mismarked?? Back to the drawing board.

I've been a die-hard ASICS fan for 10+ years and have convinced many of my friends to make the switch, but... never again. I have no idea what ASICS was thinking but they took a fantastic shoe in the Gel-NIMBUS 22 and completely ruined it. (To preface the rest of this review, I'll be making a lot of comparisons between these, the 23's, and the previous version, the 22's) Where to start? They're a completely different style of shoe than the Gel-NIMBUS 22. The 22's are rigid, supportive, and sturdy but still comfortable with just the right amount of cushion... that's not the case with the 23's. At all. They changed everything. The 23's are basically like every other "running shoe" on the market right now - very cushiony without much actual support so when you run, it's very 'gummy'. They're made with a noticeably cheaper material (especially the foam on the mid-sole) which makes me think they'll end up lasting maybe half as long as the 22's. They're more like a slip-on shoe than an actual running sneaker. Unbelievably disappointed. Thankfully I was still able to return the shoes after a few runs and buy a new pair of the Gel-NIMBUS 22's to hold me over until ASICS (hopefully) fixes this disaster. *Update - thankfully

The shoe is very comfortable and has great support. Problem is in less than a month the soles are already worn out on the left shoe. I run about 3-5 miles a day but I would expect the shoes to last longer than a month. I've had several pairs of nimbus's over the years and never had that problem before

I love these shoes but they are terrible on durability. I only walk, I don't run. I typically walk 10k-15k steps a day. I've had these shoes 6 weeks and they're totally beat. Now I am a bigger guy, like 300lbs and 6'6, but it seems wild to me that a $160 pair of shoes only holds up for maybe 150 miles. I ONLY wear them on my walks. I do not wear them to work or the gym.

I was a long time Gel Nimbus loyalist until Asics changed the fit on the Gel Nimbus 20. Based on some other reviews I decided to give the Gel Nimbus 23 a try but the width and toe box remains a disappointment. I'm a 4E width with a high arch and the Gel Nimbus 23 wasn't comfortable so I've returned them and will stay with the Brooks Ghost for at least another season.

Wanted to love these as I'm limited in colors due to my wide width. Unfortunately, toe box and instep areas are again too small in this version and I had to return. Wish they would stop shrinking these areas with every new release.

Well I have to respectfully disagree with some other reviewers. The 22 version returned to the generous width sizing of old but the 23 is back to being too narrow. And on top of that, the high point of the arch support seems to be shifted slightly towards the heel. This makes the 23 much less comfortable than the 22, although I can appreciate some of the overall technology improvements. Why Asics keeps messing with the last on these is puzzling. Maybe they should offer the shoe in both newer, narrower versions as well as older more generous versions.

Don't get caught up in these being named after a cloud. They're not soft. They're quite firm. Too firm. I've tried a couple of versions now and they're just stiff.

I love my Asics NovaBlast, so i thought I would give these a try. I don't know how these are running shows. They are heavy, not soft and hurt my feet durning my first and only run. Only 3 miles until i couldn't take it. Asics won't take them back because I used them, but they are useless to me. Can't use them. Wast of money. NovaBlast are so much better.

Somehow the Nimbus 23 changed from the 22 and it didn't go well with my foot. It felt stiffer and tighter on the front by the toes and just stiff overall.

There is a widespread problem with glue holding the sole on. Sole is pealing off in multiple places on both shoes. I get ASICS Nimbus shoes every year. This year has a major defect.
