Purchased as a gift for my son. His review: Overall I love the feel of the shoe after just one run in them. The mix of the carbon fiber plate ad DNA Flash midsole give it both a comfortable and FAST ride. It doesn't have as much initial bounce as other carbon fiber shoes I have tried when you first put them on but once you get going you really start to notice the carbon fiber. Legs felt super fresh as well after the hard workout I did in this as well. I also like how the upper felt, very lightweight and the lace system gave it great feel and really secured my foot as I was running quicker paces. Also I appreciated how this shoe handled hard turns on the road. I would certainly recommend this in road races that have some sharp turns, it handled those better than some other carbon fiber racing shoes I have worn. My only problem, but nothing super major was the back heel. It did rub the back of my one of my heels a little. But I also have this happen with plenty of lighter weight running shoes and it goes away over time. I just need to find the right sock/shoe combination for this shoe to prevent that. Overall, great and fast shoe!

Great shoes but not the best of all I had so far

I'm not sure if it's fair to give a 4 instead of a 5 because it might just be me. I run 25 miles a week and (prior to COVID) I tried to run at least one half marathon annually along with several 10k/5k races. I was so excited to buy a carbon fiber shoe like this. While it's a comfortable shoe, and would be amazing for racing, it does not work for my 25 mile a week training. I need more of a stability show than the Hyperion provides.

Fantasitic shoe. I am a mid-forefoot runner, 40 yrs. experience, and these have a wonderful natural feel to me, like running barefoot on grass. I've narrow feet with arthritis in my knees and arthritic stiff MTP toe joints. The stretchy top fabric keeps the shoe on my feet well; most shoes are too baggy on top. I run 50 km a week and these shoes have erased pain and improved my bio- mechanics. NOTE: the top of the heel collar is stiff and scraped the skin on my heels raw just from slippage. Tying the shoes with a heel- lock tie helps, but Brook's, perhaps make the heel collar less stiff nest edition?

Super crazy light. I find these shoes help you keep good running form and push off from your toes. The shoes really make you want to push your pace. I can see them as a great race shoe. Only thing that makes me drop a rating is the price. I am just a runner that does 30-40 miles a week to stay in shape for my job. I wanted to try what they racers were wearing. I mix them in once or twice a week into my rotation. It has helped me keep my form better, and do better speed work.

Love them, barring the low heal (which has completely torn up and dug into my heal)

Good shoes overall. However, I got bad blisters on both of my back heels the first time I wore them. Somehow the blisters did not develop during my run but afterwards when I walked. The shoes are nice, very light and fast but please make sure you don't run a long distance the first couple times you wear them. I think it would need a few wears to break in.

I typically buy the Ghost shoe. So, this is lighter overall but the sole seems more firm. The laces are also a bit flimsy and seem to hit my shins while I run. I don't like how big the colored soles look (reminds me of a medical shoe). I do like the bright color though. Overall, I'm not sure if the shoe Performance meets the price premium.

Not the best super shoes out there at all. Did not feel the spring I’ve felt from some others.

I have to say I was so excited to get these, but they haven't been easy to work with. I was warned by a friend who owns a company who sells these that they take a while getting used to. I've gone back to wearing my Glycerins and may just order another pair of those to run in. I really really want to love these and if there are any suggestions that will help getting used to them, I'm open to anything. I will only wear Brooks to run in and have for 30 years.

its a tempo shoe really, not a racing shoe. its the most comfortable fit between version 1,2 and 3. if you want a brooks for race day try this one, otherwise use the hyperion tempo, a lot more comfortable yields similar performance result on race day.

Wanted to love them....but the heel rubs so bad, I get blisters after just a few miles regardless of what I try. Sadly, I will only be using these for 5k races.

As much as I wanted to love these shoes with all my heart - I just didn’t. I’m sure part of the issue was the difficulty in getting them on. There’s no pull tab which would have helped greatly as the shoe is a soft material and there’s no way to step in comfortably. I also was hoping there would be more cushioning inside the shoe. My humble opinion is they’re not worth the price tag.

I have a love/hate relationship with this shoe. First of all, it is important to understand that this is a true long distance racing shoe and NOT intended to be a daily training shoe. Of course, you can use these shoes for whatever purpose you wish, but racing shoes are typically not as durable as a trainer. Durability usually equals weight which isn't ideal when running a half or full marathon. If you want a good race training shoe, the Hyperion Tempo is an excellent choice.
In any case, I purchased these recently and took them on a test run to see how they felt and performed. I am a female runner that wears a size 12 in the Ghost and Hyperion Tempo, and an 11.5 in the Launch. I have medium to slightly wide feet and low arches. Since the Elite 2 is unisex men's sizing, I went with a 10.5 which fit perfectly. After testing these out, here's a run-down of what I liked and disliked about this shoe:
My first run with these was just a quick 2-mile run to get an overall first impression. The cushioning felt great under my feet and I definitely felt like they were propelling me forward and helping me to run faster. I finished the run an entire minute faster than I do with regular training shoes. For only a 2-mile run, that's a lot of time shaved off. So these are definitely speedy shoes.
Unfortunately that's where the love ends. My main issues with the Hyperion Elite 2 are with the overall comfort. Yes, the cushioning is fantastic, but I experienced major rubbing on the back of my heels. This was in spite of wearing high quality ankle running socks and the shoe being the right fit (not too large, not too small). I could feel it rubbing almost immediately after walking out the door.
The interior of the shoe is very low profile, which makes sense for a racing shoe, but at the same time it doesn't accommodate orthotic inserts. At least not the Superfeet Green I wear in all my shoes because I need the extra support. I definitely felt like my low arches were crying out for help as I ran in this shoe, and couldn't imagine my feet tolerating long distance in them.
Lastly, I absolutely hated the laces. They are very lightweight, which is great, but also very elastic, thin, and stretchy. On the one hand they do lend to the lightness of this shoe, and help keep your feet secured. These definitely will not untie during your run. But I did find them tricky to untie, at times having to really work at it because the thin elastic material created an overly tight knot. And once these shoes are tied, they are not coming off until they are untied. I could not slip or pull them off when tied.
Everyone's feet are different, and shoe experiences are highly subjective. They fit my feet like a glove and performed as expected, but ultimately the lack of arch support and heel rubbing were two issues I just couldn't overcome.

Not bad but wayyy over priced. The Endorphin Speed/Pro are far better shoes while still being affordable

As many others have reported the back of the shoe did not work for me. Too much focal and very sore pressure on my achilles. Sadly had to return.

I love brooks and I'm a men's 10.5 in Ghosts, Cascadia and GTS. The Hyperion on the other hand was very tight around the center of the foot and my heel slips. I had plenty of toe room. It is a high quality well made shoe but awkward fitting.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I was so excited to buy them, and when they arrived they were so light. They look great and have a great sole. However, my feet are a little on the wide side and I just couldn't get the laces loose enough to feel good over the top of my feet, and I couldn't get the heels to stop slipping despite a variety of lacing techniques. My heels were raw after just a quick 3 miler with the brooks insole. I tried my usual insole on a second short run hoping it would be better but the heels just wouldn't stop slipping. They are definitely a fast shoe and if you can get the fit right I think you'll love them. Sadly, I need to return mine.

Not a good design for me. I wear neutral shoes, but these didn't work for me. However, my husband loves them. He believes it significantly improves his running and makes his miles faster. Although when I put them on I felt great, but I tried them for a 1 mile run and they hurt my knees and ankle to the point that I needed to stop. Levitate StealthFit 5 are my favorite shoes but Hyperion Elite are not designed for my feet. my feet were tilted inward which caused the knee and ankle problem for me.

I just completed a half marathon in the Hyperion Elite 2 shoes I purchased before. The stability is not at its best with this shoe, maybe due to its rather roomy configuration with too much "wiggle-room" at the forefoot. A third way into my race, I developed progressive discomfort in the back of knee and referred pain on the same side of my hip. I am a long-standing Brooks runner, but this is the first long race using this type shoe. Not too mention the threads are short-lived. I have to take a couple of weeks off to mend this new condition.
