very happy with flow rate but the straws crack at the connection point with the lid after only a few weeks. the lid is sold with two straws so this must be a known problem. but I cant find replacement straws. i am too cheap to buy a new lid to get two more straws!

After many reviews and recommendations, my boyfriend and I decided to buy a hydroflask. We both were excited it has a straw attachment. When I first received my order, one straw worked just fine but the other didn't. When you would suck on it, it was like there was a hole and was not working properly. I called and complained and they sent me a new one right away. Props to the good customer service. Now that I have received my second straw, I still have the same problem. It actually works better but sometimes I have to maneuver it to get it to work. It's really quite annoying. It's pretty easy to set up. There's not much to when it comes to assembling it but it's frustrating when it works when it wants to.

Love Hydro Flask, we have 8 different bottles in the house and use them all. My only complaint is the rubber mouth piece on the straw mouth breaks down very easily and can be bitten through if people use their teeth at all.

Like most others on here, my mouthpiece did not last very long. The rubber started to deteriorate after 3 months or so. It's advertised as durable, but that's definitely not the case. This lid is more convenient than the screw on lid, but if it doesn't last then what's the point. I would hold off on buying until they improve the design.

The mouth piece's plastic degraded after some months of use. Other than that, is what I need. So Ill replace it.

I have been using the straw lid for months and have been 100% satisfied. That is until I recently read the reviews in search of the answer to a question I had and saw people complaining about mold. I have several Hydro Flasks and use them each for 1-2 uses before washing and drying. I clean them VERY thoroughly with a bottle brush and skinny straw brush getting into all of the nooks and crannies. I was shocked to see that when I peered inside the tip of my mouthpiece it had mold in it. I scrubbed and scrubbed and it isn't coming completely clean. Pretty disappointing that I've been drinking mold for who knows how long.

But, I've now had two of these and both of them had big problems with mold. No matter how diligently I cleaned the lid, I simply couldn't get completely rid of it. And, the rubber (or maybe it's silicone) mouthpiece gets gooey after a while. Yuck. I took a lid with a hard plastic flip straw lid from another bottle and it works ok. Still, I am very, very disappointed in the lack of quality in the Hydro Flask straw lid.

I am a huge fan of the Hydro Flask products. I own many different sizes. This straw lid could be improved. The straw seems like a great idea but there's is one major issue -- It doesn't let enough air in to take up enough water when you drink. I need to partially unscrew the lid to take a drink of water. Then you need to remember to tighten the lid to prevent it form leaking. Simply making the air hole larger would solve the problem. I have not had any issues with black mold that some reviewers mention and it seems to keep the liquids cold just as long with this lid as the original flip top lid.

i wrote a review about this lid a while back, and now all of a sudden its gone. what is up with that HydroFlask?? let me write again - this lid is ok except for the fact that it does pop off. i've unfortunately dropped my hydroflask a few times, and 2 of those times were on carpet. both of those times the lid some how popped right off, and all my water spilled out of my 40 oz. bottle. maybe if the threading on the cap and bottle were a little better, this would not happen. please fix, as i do like using your bottles.

They need to redesign the rubber spout. It gets slimy and disgusting and my child has destroyed it with his teeth. I recommend a different material or replacement spouts.

I have been using the Wide Mouth Straw Lid for about 6 months. After the first month of using it I had to rip off the rubber mouth piece because it seemed I was getting some kind of allergic reaction to it. My lips were getting a numb sort of feeling. Has anyone experienced this? After getting rid of the rubber part, my lips became better. Even though drinking from the weird shaped mouth piece because I removed the rubber part, I do like the convenience of the flip lid and straw feature. I just wish the sipping part of the lid was smooth. I would be happy if it was just the hard plastic. Maybe if it were round instead of rectangular too.

Hydro Flasks are great! However I do not think this lid is up to their normal standards. The rubber top has fallen apart due to minor biting of the straw. Would be great if they sold the rubber pieces so I needed to to buy a whole new lid.

I don't know if I am missing something, but I bought the Hydroflask specifically for the temperature holding power. Ice cubes 24 hours etc... I thought this top was perfect because I needed a straw for convenience, but the ice melts just as fast as any other water bottle. I guess the fact that it is not leak proof also means it is not vacuum tight. What is the point then in lugging this heavy flask around if what you have it for won't work with this cover? Now I just throw a straw in there, and deal with the twisting the lid open every time to have a sip. Don't get me wrong though, besides this cover, I LOVE EVERYTHING ELSE.

My husband and I have had our Flasks for a few years now. All of a sudden they stopped keeping our water cold and the ice would melt right away. I thought the lid was the problem, so I bought two new lids. It did not make a difference, our water still doesn't stay cold and the ice melts right away. Is this common? I guess we'll have to buy a different brand and hope that brand will last longer....Ruth and Victor

The new lid I ordered leaks constantly where I can only have the hydroflask standing upright.

I have had a dozen of these lids and I'm not sure we're to find replacement o rings for it. They go out in about a week or I've had these come with out them so I had no way of using it and you can't buy one at the local hardware store. I keep buying these because I like the cops and I prefer a straw.

Feels much cheaper than the old one I have. Leaks if I turn it upside down. Bad.

Too much condensation on lid. Leaves a gap between the hydro flask trail version.

The gasket on both of these didn't seal correctly. Both of them leaked excessively. I would have returned but apparently I need to pay for the shipping which is just ridiculous. Done with their products.

I got this so It os easy to drink out of while working out and it leaks so bad. I know it says "not leak proof" but it literally leaks just sitting on a flat surface upright. It leaves a puddles of liquid underneath. Also the straw constantly comes undone from the lid so I have to open it up and re-attach it. I'm assuming this is also why my drinks don't stay cold. I'm probably the only person that would not buy a hydroflask bottle again.

I bought this so I can sip on my 64 oz Hydro Flash and I've it close to a year. I learned the hard way you have to be very careful when it's full or almost full when you pick it up by the loop handle because it has popped off while picking it up 3 different times and got water everywhere. I try not to pick it up or hold it by the loop if it's half full or more but sometimes it's a habit, but now I'm absolutely terrified to pick it up by the loop since it can easily come off.

I bought this months ago. This has a little tiny plastic thing to keep water from spilling but once it gets lost it leaks everywhere. I know it claims to not be leak-free but just wanted to leave a review that it will not leak with the tiny plastic thing. Will be purchasing wide mouth sip lid which IS leak-free.

The seal ring does not easily go into the groove, making it difficult to close. Have to replace it perfectly every time it's opened. Very frustrating. Without the seal, it leaks. Gave up trying. Went back to original lid.

Love the idea but requires way too much effort to drink from the straw. Googled it and found this was a common issue..

The lid itself is fine, but the straw has already started to split in half and I've only used it a handful of time.
