I bought it and I thought it was great at first...my issue is that the straw keeps coming out and the lid gets leaky. Other than that I love my hydro flask!!! I have 5-6 of them and they are the best! I just wish my straw kept in place.

i think the straw lid needs to go back to the drawing board. you can make it threaded at the top where it connects to the lid so it will screw on and stop falling down. i have to open my lid like 20 times a day to put my straw back on.

The new top I got a few months ago has a noticeably lower flow rate that previous designs. It takes a lot more sucking power for less liquid now. I can see inside that the opening is smaller.

I had this lid before and used it with my 40oz hydro flask but then my hydro flask was stolen so I replaced it with a 32oz hydro flask and repurchased the straw lid but the straws don't fit in my 32oz wide mouth hydroflask and i'm very confused. Is there a different size straw that I can purchase so I can use the straw lid? Otherwise this product only works on 40oz and above and is very annoying.

I think the quality of my bottle is great, but the quality of my straw lid is garbage. There is aways a white flaky film on it, as if it were pealing... ewww! My straw always comes off on the inside. So I have to open it and fish out the straw to reattach it. And I always have to push the plastic outer straw part into the cap or it flows very poorly. I just thought it would be way better quality than it was, and to say the least I'm pretty disappointed. If they decided to change the quality anytime soon I would consider getting a new one.

I have a very inconsistent stream of water coming up the straw. It is also very noisy when sucking up the little bit of water.

My entire family has various sizes of HF's for our water bottles. Three of us have wide mouths and bought the straw lids. We have 4-5 rotating through being washed and of the 4-5, two didn't last two months. One split down the mouth opening and the other doesn't make a complete seal between the flip mouth piece and lid so it sucks a lot of air and very little water. One of the other two good ones is now starting to suck air, less than a year after we bought it. When they work, they work good. When the don't, they suck!!

I received the straw for my 20oz hydro flask this pass Christmas and I've been using it for three months now. I bring it to class with me but when I come home my bag and books are water from my flask. It creates a puddle we're the Straw closes.

I purchased a straw lid to avoid the whole taking the lid on and off to get a drink thing and I've used it pretty consistently for about three weeks now and every time I take a drink, I'm getting mostly air and not much water. The straw is seated as tightly as I can get it and I can't see any way it can be tighter, the lid is tight (to its credit, I have no leaking issues) and the straw doesn't leak itself so I'm struggling to understand what the issue is. So, no I wouldn't recommend this at all. And I adore all of my other HydroFlask items!

This lid seems a lot cheaper than the lid my flask came with originally. The straw part is very hard, which hurts my teeth, and is uncomfortable to use. I decided to give 2 stars because I do love the color, just wish it was better quality.

Wish this product was leak-proof! The loop for "handy carrying" is not suitable to carrying either. The product works otherwise however these drawbacks are significant.

I love my hydroflask, and I love the straw lid concept. However, every time I use it, there is a high pitched whistle when I try to drink it. None of my other friends have this problem with their lids. Someone suggested that it might be a flaw.

Leaks all the time. Gets a layer of moisture around the lid and is really annoying.

I love my hydroflask products, and I leave a bottle on my bedside table to drink from at night. I got tired of spilling all over myself in a half-asleep stupor, so I bought the wide-mouth straw lid. I don't spill all over myself anymore, which is great. I don't have any of the problems of sucking air, as many have reported. However, the straw does seem to make the water taste like plastic after a day. It makes me nervous that I'm ingesting some unsavory chemicals. It says it's BPA-free, but really feel like it shouldn't taste like this. Might have to switch back to my bi-weekly accidental bath.

I recently bought a 40oz Hydroflask and loved the insulation. But one thing I noticed was that the straw lid doesn't work correctly, if you pull back/open air filters completely when drinking, taking away from experience. So, when you drink bubbles end up in your mouth. To make it work correctly, you need to open it at just the right angle, clearly showing it is a defect.

I had the older version of the straw that was grey and kinda rubbery. It didn't leak when the bottle was on it's side and I loved it. Unfortunately my kids bit a hole in it and it stopped working. The newer model doesn't have the grey or rubber, which is fine, but it leaks everywhere! This is super inconvenient since my bottle won't fit in cupholders and always ends up on its side. Please bring back the old straw!

I have had this lid for 6 months and in the last couple months I have started having a lot of problems. The lid gives the water a plastic taste when left in the bottle for too long, but I guess that is to be expected. The lid also leaks a lot. When I try to suck the water through the straw I get mostly air and it feels like the pressure is not right. I tried switching the straws and that didn't help. However until recently this product was fine.

I recently had to replace my original straw lid for the 40 oz. The old one was the gray and black kind with some rubberized detail on the spout and on the loop (I think). The new lid is slippery plastic - the lack of rubberizing on the spout seems to make it kind of sharp-edged when you drink, it leaks, you have to be very careful to screw it on right, and it's easy to drop since it's slick. The older one wore out where the rubberizing was, but I sure liked it better! I love the flask - just not the new straw lid!

The suction on this is awful! I love the fact that I can drink with a straw but I have to open and close it several times just to get regular suction on it. And if I bite the bullet and use it with too little suction it's super loud. If there's a way to fix this I'd love to know!

So I recently bought this product and was really excited to try it out, but on first sip I realized I was sucking up air, and not the water. Any one else experience this problem, I have tried many attempts to fix this and failed on all of them. Really bummed about this. Please let me know if there is anything that I may be doing wrong, I don't want to return it, but may have to if it isn't going to work properly.

Got it the straw at a authorized dealer, worked great while lasted. It sustianes heavy use from being a student and could blame myself for a couple 3-4 ft drops but still expected more. Love the hydroflask overall. The original cap still works and insulates way better than this one. Its noticeable after a while and switching back. If you baby this thing it might work for you.

While I love HydroFlask, I am disappointed with this straw lid. The top straw (where your mouth goes) distorts easily and cracks/rips, and it has become brown and moldy even with frequent cleaning. These problems could easily be fixed if the company switched to all plastic or all stainless steel straws! I would be the first to buy that!!

I've had this straw for a little while and it seemed to work ok, but now when I drink, I get mostly air, and it makes a crazy noise. The flasks are definitely a superior product, just disappointed with the straw lid.
