I don't know if mine is defective or what but my lid leaks water everywhere, no matter how many times I try to put it on differently or how tight I screw if on it still leaks.... not worth it!!! Though my water bottle on the other hand was so worth the money and I absolutely love it!

I've love my 32oz wide mouth Hydroflask. Does exactly what the advertising says but the new straw lid I just got doesn't live up to the bottle. If the bottle tips on its side it leaks. The bottle was in my backpack and I could feel water dripping through onto my legs. It also drenched my car seat. While I like the function of the straw, I may go back to the twist open top due to the headaches of "wet stuff". My daughter got the straw for her bottle too so I asked if hers leaked too and it does.

I love my 16 oz Hydro Flask with the flip-lid but I bought the extra wide mouth straw lid to make drinking easier on the go. Unfortunately there's so much vacuum leakage that you can barely suck any water up. I am amazed this product got past R&D.

Takes all that I can do to make water come up the straw into my mouth. I don't know what the problem is, the hole in the top is clear.

I liked having a straw lid over the one you had to twist to get off, but this straw lid needs serious improvement. I could not take it after awhile. This lid started leaking the minute I received it in the mail. I just thought, no big deal for right now. But after awhile, it just kept leaking more and more. I would pick up my water bottle from my bed/car/bookbag/anywhere and there would be a wet stain from the lid leaking. Finally, I decided to throw it out and go back to the twist off lid. It's annoying, but it doesn't leak now. The hydro flask water bottles are amazing, but this straw lid needs serious improvement. Not to mention, it was so hard to clean the part where the mouth piece bends up and down. So, it started to get really gross and dirty because I couldn't take it a part to fully clean it and it just got so gross. I definitely do not recommend getting the straw lid.

I recently just bought this and it's not that great. My hydroflask would be full and if sounds like when you're drinking the last bit of water where you also get air. When I drink out of it I barely get water through the straw like I have to really try to get some water.

Recently bought the 32 oz along with this lid. I was very disappointed to find out that it leaks like crazy unless it's sitting straight up. I wouldn't recommend getting it. This is my first experience with Hydro Flask and for the price I am very disappointed.

I bought this and tried to use it for about a month. The lid simply didn't work. I couldn't get much water out, and when I did it sounded like I was spraying a whipped cream can! I had my fianc make sure that I attached the straw correctly to the lid, but it still didn't work! I love my Hydroflask bottle, just not this lid unfortunately.

The new all black straw lid leaks a ridiculous amount of water. My old rubber straw had no problems like this one does. I love the idea of the straw but I wish I didn't have puddles of cold water when my bottle is laying down. Hopefully they fix this issue because I still love my bottles.

I had the grey one and wanted the black one since I like the look of the all black feel, but it doesn't smoothly go on like the grey one? Weird since it's just the color difference. Very disappointed.

I have the older generation grey/black straw lid that I bought about a year ago, which I love...HOWEVER, I bought this newer version last month and the performance is poor. It spits water at me every time I flip it open, the tolerances on the mating parts seem to be poorly controlled, it's too tight near the rotating pins making it difficult to open. The straw itself doesn't seem to fit as tightly over the barbed port inside the bottle so it leaks while trying to drink (like drinking through a straw with a hole in it). Bring back the old generation version!

I've had the previous generation wide mouth straw lid and have used it daily for 3 years! I can not live without it. So, I treated myself a new one today thinking the old hard worker has done it's duty. Well the material on the new generation is not the same and I'm not a fan. HydroFlask why? It's still usable, but not the same.

I recently replaced my straw lid on my 32oz Hydro Flask. I have found that the most recent straw lid (all black, hard mouth piece) leaks. I've never had a problem with previous versions of the straw lid. As soon as I put this new one on, I noticed puddles left on the floormats in my car. Sure enough, I flipped the bottle upside down to double check and out came water from the seal and mouth piece. Perhaps I threaded it wrong? Nope. Still leaked. Switched it to a different Hydro Flask. Still leaked. Not happy with this new version especially for a water bottle and company that caters to those with an active lifestyle.

Bought two replacement lids and both have the same issue--you have to find a very specific position for the straw to be in. Otherwise, quite a bit of air leaks in while you're trying to drink. The worst part is that the completely open position is not where it needs to be. Very inconvenient when you're in a workout or on the go. Old rubber kids had a much better design.

This is the second set of straw lids that I have used. The first set did not have an indent on the flip up straw piece. It was gray and black. This second set has an indent and leaves my iced coffee mix sitting in the flip up and when I fold it down it spills drops on the lid. Go back to the flip up without the indent.

I bought this a couple weeks ago because I tend to spill when I drink from open mouthed containers. It has good flow and is relatively spill resistant. However, the straw is kinda flimsy and the spout is too hard. I have cut the inside of my upper lip twice by accidentally hitting the spout against it. I would suggest either adding or at least offering a silicone spout cover/bump guard as an add-on accessory.

Like the concept, but doesn't work well, seems to have a suction issue, excessive slurping sound (very loud and annoying) followed by insufficient volume of liquid being drawn into straw,

I love my Hydro Flask! But this lid has to go. I love the convenience of the flip top lid but in less than a year, the lid got moldy. After regular cleaning, it just won't go away. Works great but the rubber sip spout is moldy and starting to have pieces of rubber flake off. Like an old eraser. A new plastic spout instead of rubber or a more mold resistant one would be appreciated. Come on Hydo Flask, get it together!

The straw lid top is no longer rubberized and is hard plastic. It is not very nice to grab hold of anymore. It used to have a good build quality but now seems cheap and breakable.

This works great until you loose the tiny rubber seal that closes when the lid is folded down, after you loose the seal it leaks very badly. Cannot find where i can buy replacement seals.

I have had a 40oz bottle for several years and have only used it sparingly as a water bottle because it was awkward with the normal screw top. Has worked great like that and never had a leak problem with a screw off lid. Seeing some friends use the same bottle with a flip top straw lid got me excited to try it out. Ordered it, apparently the new design that is solid black, installed immediately. First thing I noticed is that the lid screws on with an enormous amount of effort, like it's threads don't line up with the bottle, compared to the traditional lid that screws on simply and easily. This one feels like I'm going to break it to get it down on the bottle to the same position the normal lid sits, an effort I would liken to a lid being stuck on a mason jar. I expected to have a little leakage from the straw or flip top/vent as I used it. But when everything is secured and stowed I didn't think it was to much to expect it to be watertight, that part was fine. Mine leaks around the main seal where it meets the bottle, the part I expected would be trouble free. Use is great and I like the function of the lid a lot. I just hate having to ensure I always have the bottle upright or I have a steady leak, like a drop every second. Compared to the myriad of other brand water bottles/sport bottles I have around the house (most cost less then this lid alone by the way) that don't leak in my backpack, the leaking is quite disappointing. I've emailed hydroflask explaining the issue. We'll see if they have any suggestions or if maybe my older bottle isn't compatible. Maybe my new lid has a flaw. I'll update or post again if anything changes.

We bought several hydro flasks and LOVE them! Now can't even live without them but they straw design after a while leaks, leaks in sports bags, if you leave on a table you will wake up to your hydroflask sitting in a puddle. They have been great and honored the warranty but I really wish these could be designed better.

My fianc and I each have had these almost a year and the one major disappointment seems to be shared throughout many reviews on here. Why not just a rubber replacement??? These deteriorate fast and get what looks like mold in them very quickly. I love all that is hydro flask and am disappointed to not see there be any changes in this product yet. I am forced to buy us new ones today due to both crumbling within a week of each other. That's purely unacceptable. Get it together guys!
