I bought this for my daughter's 12oz bottle to take to school. It started leaking the first day she used it and her entire backpack was drenched! It seems like it can't tilt even slightly or the water will pour out. Half of her bottle had leaked into her backpack in the 15 minutes it took to drive to school! I'm so disappointed in this cap.

I purchased a standard mouth insulated bottle with the sport cap for my two younger children thinking it would be easier for them to drink out of than the standard twist-on lid. Both bottles leak when they are laid on the side. Highly disappointed!

I really really really wish this wouldn't leak. I have this bottle for work mostly, and commute with it. I have to be really careful to keep the bottle upright, or it leaks, EVERYWHERE! I've lost lots of papers to the leak, and while I should learn my lesson, keep hoping that it will not leak.

We have a passel of HyroFlasks in almost every size. Everything is fantastic. Except this sports lid. Sooner or later, the little white silicone gasket in the air hole will fall out and disappear. How do you find out? You get a shower from your water bottle. Just lost one yesterday, so now we have two sports caps without gaskets. It's a real bummer, because otherwise we love them.

I bought this maybe 6 months ago at the store because I can be pretty bad about spilling while drinking. It worked great for the first few months but after a while, the rubber stopped holding tight and now leaks every time I leave the bottle on its side. I don't want to pay new ones every few months because of this issue. I really wish this were fixed because I absolutely love Hydro Flask products and want to buy more for me and my friends.

I received a 21oz hydroflask as a gift in November. I absolutely love the bottle. It came with the sports cap. I do not like drinking out of caps like that so I just remove the lid anytime I want to drink out of the bottle. But I did notice immediately, that I have to be careful to make sure the bottle remains upright, because water leaks out of the sport cap's drinking valve. It does not drink from the threads...only from where you drink. I have pressed it down hard and it still leaks. I wanted to buy an alternate lid with the loop cap, but it also gets terrible reviews for water getting trapped inside. Is someone doing any thing to address these concerns? I will say I give the bottle 5 stars. But it sounds like the Hydroflask team needs to do some serious engineering work to address the lid concerns. These bottles are not cheap and for the price, the entire product should outperform the competition.

Bought this cap for my kids and they LEAK! WTHeck! They cannot use them unless they stay upright all the time. What is the point of a "sport top" if it cant be on its side in your bag? So disappointed by the design of the lids. I love the quality of the insulated bottles but what good are they if you have leaking tops?

Don't but it. It leaks water badly and will make a big mess.

My son came home from school with a backpack full of water. My initial thought was that he just did not close it tightly but after testing it in every way, shape, and form it LEAKED :( Great concept but nothing I would recommend until the product is fine tuned.

The sport cap is nearly useless. I bought the cap for a trip to Europe, and the little rubber vent broke out on day 3. Great, so for the next two weeks I didn't have a flask! Had I know the sport cap would be so cheap, I wouldn't have bought it. Thought it would make it easier to drink, but the original cap, is best.

These lids leak horribly bad. Bought one for each of my three kids and my mother, all four leak. The lid works fine if it's going to be kept upright, but for a "sport lid" you should be able to throw it in a gear bag without all your equipment getting soaked!

I love my HF products; they are best are maintaining temps. However, the standard mouth sport cap is not very usable. It requires two hands to open, and I am not a wimp. I wish the standard size opening had a straw top. The one on my wide mouth works wonderfully.
