I thought this mouth piece might be more sanitary than the traditional one but it seems to be just as exposed and the water bottle leaks with this top

I used cap for couple days and it broke in 2:( I've emailed the company- it's been 2 weeks and I haven't heard a thing. Disappointed with the whole hydro flask experience

I bought this a few weeks ago and the inside piece broke off!!

This lid only lasted my boyfriend a week before it broke!

The cap already broke. Part of it is stick inside the hydro flask itself.

I emailed letting them know I did not get my item and never heard back from them. So I paid for it and did not get it. They showed that it had shipped to my post office but it never did. I would still love to resolve this or get my money back.

From the first day, I'm very disappointed at how much this leaks. I was very excited for this lid, since the handle on my regular twist off lid broke. I thought this would be a great alternative. I was wrong. No matter how much I put the top for a good seal, of the bottle is not upright, it leaks a lot. Not a little, a lot! Won't be recommending this lid.

The spout doesn't fully close and if you lay it on its side for even 30 seconds water goes everywhere!

I bought this about two months ago and it has started to leak. It leaks where the cap makes contact with the bottle. I know it's an issue with the lid because my other lid does not leak whatsoever.

I bought this about a month ago for my teenager. This lid just pours out when closed. My niece has one hers leaks as well. I bought a cheaper version for myself and don't have the problems.

I bought this a month ago for my daughter and when she pulls the top to open the spout the entire thing lifts out and if her bottle tips it then leaks. Super disappointed with this item!!!

Do not buy. You will think it's closed but it leaks.

Reading back on these reviews, this problem has been persistent for well over a year now. I've had 3 of these caps and each one leaked within 2 months of casual use. Ridiculous. Will never buy a product from Hydro Flask especially when one of your responses below states something along the lines of "Unfortunately, none of our caps are 100% drip-free". Are you kidding me? A $0.99 water bottle from a convenience can get it right but a company that specializes in high-end water bottles can't? lol ok...

Even though the bottles themselves are great, the sport cap leaks, so I can never flip the bottle around or even keep it in my backpack. Also, it makes a loud noise when I drink from it.

I bought this cap to go along with my 21 oz hydro flask. I love the actual water bottle but I had to use my lifetime warranty to get a different cap because the sports cap leaked all over my stuff. If it accidentally got knocked over it would soak everything in its vicinity. I would recommend the water bottle and the flex cap but not the sports cap.

I bought this because the standard mouth does not offer straws but this cap leaks! Even if you close it all the way, water spills through the tiny little hole - not sure why they put that there. It is a pain because I can only have my hydro sitting upright because I have spilled my water all over my car and backpack in the past. Do not buy!

I bought this a couple months ago and I never use this sports lid anymore. The lid makes an annoying loud noise when I drink it . The lid also has leaked when closed ruining my school journals.

This kid came with my water bottle and it is absolutely terrible. It has been leaking since the day I bought it. If your water bottle isn't up right, expect things to get soaked.

This cap is very leaky. I was told when I bought it specifically because I did not want a leaky water bottle. Disappointed in this product

I got this as a gift and have been using for 6months. The rubber inside the lid cap keeps getting off until it got lost.

I purchased the flask for my daughter-- it had a standard cap. I was excited to learn that there was a sport cap option so that she could use and not have to twist top off when walking around campus etc. Sport cap is a disaster leaks constantly ruining papers and books in her backpack

Bought 4 of them in total, they work great at first but after you open them a handful of times they leak. My kids have to have this type of lid for school, and it leaks everywhere in their backpacks.

No matter how tight the lid is, no matter how many times you check it- this lid leaks every time!!!

I have owned FOUR of these sport caps. They all leaked after ~6mos. I feel silly and frustrated for having continually purchased a replacement (twisting the cap on and off all day, just seemed like such a hassle). These caps were only handwashed, so I don't think we melted the silicone material or anything... I am not sure if they became warped, or if the seal degraded, or what the problem was, but I experienced the same issue with FOUR separately PURCHASED caps. Otherwise, we love Hydro flask!

I bought several Hydroflask water bottles that came with this lid. All leaked badly from day one. I ended up buying regular lids for all of them. Don't wast your money buy a Hydroflask that comes with a regular lid!
