Went looking for a shoe for my dad when his feet were swollen after surgery. This shoe was great - it opens up really wide AND the shoelaces are long enough! Thanks for coming to the rescue!!

Wearing around the house to get a "feel" for the size and comfort! With the rather "hefty" insole, the shoes weighs in @ 16.9 oz. /shoe. The added bulk may take some getting used to, but will likely be okay. My neuropathy may also become more tolerable; we'll see.

The size was correct and the with across the wide part of the foot was fine but the tow box was almost oval, too much room. The style was also affected by the large toe box

I ordered this NB 847 as my podiatrist recommended it since NB's 928s now only come in black and white and happen to be the podiatrists "go-to" shoe for foot stability and orthotic space. NB has dropped all design and color options on the 928 and this was second best. The fit is as expected and the design and appearance are very good. NB made a huge mistake reducing the 928 to the basics. Podiatrists and customers are going elsewhere.

Nice shoes. Felt comfortable, extra extra wide was a perfect fit. I ordered the same size as previous New Balance shoes that I have owned (990 v4). But these were too short, and I had to return them. Disappointed.

This shoes feels a little bit bigger than my old v2 pair. Toe box is wide and definitely wider than in v2 model I have.

This was my third pair, and the NB 847 are a good walking shoe, starting wearing these when NB 990 became so expensive. The thick soles provide good cushioning on pavement. The downside of this is that I find it difficult driving with these on (knee problems). I have an old pair of Brooks Ghost that I wear for longer drives.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks Beast if Brooks restores quality found in earlier versions.

Doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as the 1540 but a very good shoe for the money. It was actually wider than I expected so you need to be sure to lace it all the way up. Overall it is a very lightweight, good-looking shoe.

Just Started Wearing The 847, Time Will Be The Key. Will Wear The Shoes Daily. You Need Some New People In You're Design Department, Women's Shoes Look Better Than Men's Offerings.

It appears to me that some shoes are out of stock due to supply chain issues. These were my second choice and I could not get the color I would have liked. Promised a discount if I gave NB my e-mail address, but at check out, NB tells me these shoes do not qualify. My complaints aside, shoes fit well and are comfortable and the soles provide good support for walking and all day use. If the shoes wear well over time, I'll buy a second pair this Fall.

I have always been a fan of New Balance. I prefer shoes that have a lot of support. I roll out, and NB is about the only company that has a shoe to help. However, these are hard. There’s virtually no give as far as a cushion. In fact, they’re hard to the point of being uncomfortable.
