I've worn this jacket in the Dark Firoza colorway, size Medium, which is plenty loose to wear an Atom AR underneath and still have room (my guess is that with the size Small the Atom AR should still fit underneath, although a little tighter). I've worn this through humid (~90%) and rainy weather (light rain indefinitely, no problem. I've even worn this for a few minutes in heavy rain and it held up fine but either wetted out or had trouble breathing after that, though I'm fairly sure the former isn't the case). Of course, it's only meant as an emergency shell so I did sweat after about an hour or two of hiking through light rain (surprisingly little though, considering I was wearing a sub-par "wicking" tee under it). Although I would've appreciated pit zips or at least a mesh vent pocket, I do understand that this jacket is meant to be as light as possible (which it is). The laminated visor is a lifesaver though. I would post a picture of me wearing it on a hike in the Grand Tetons, but sadly that trip was cancelled :( I shall go next year and perhaps update this review.

Best all around jacket if you want something that is packable in an average day bag but is still effective in cold weather situations when layering. Also very water resistant and wind resistant. Would layer extremely well with a down vest in cold weather situations

This jacket performs as if it were a heavier weight alternative. The light weight doesn't mean you sacrifice anything in terms of waterproof and windproof quality. Provides good thermal performance as a shell with a base layer selected to match the temperature. Packs very small and light. Perfect in the field or for travel.

First time buyer of Arcteryx and have to say I am so far impressed with the ordering processing, speedy delivery and product quality to price ratio. I am also one that is caught between L and XL when it comes to sizing and the XL I ordered fit well without being too loose or too tight. as a point of reference, I am approximately 6'3" and 183 lbs with a 35" sleeve. All lengths were perfect as well from torso to sleeve length.

I have always enjoyed my ARC'TERYX products. This makes my second purchase. The company, ARC'TERYX, stands by their products and they have a excellent warranty. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who wants a great overall weather protection.

Bought the shell jacket as a knocking around jacket incase the weather turned bad! Kept me dry when a downpour occurred unexpectedly!!! Outstanding quality and fit. Wicked water away from the body which was an issue with my old Gortex jacket. This is my second Arc'teryx jacket, this may sound strange, but will be looking at another shell for layering for fall and winter! Great products!

I work in the film and television industry, so I was looking for a jacket that would be comfortable and keep me dry should it rain. Sometimes I have to be outside for about 14 hours, and if it's rains it could ruin my ability to work. With this jacket, I'm able to work in comfort and a bit style. I don't even the rain. In fact all I do is hear it falling on my jacket, and because it's made of Gortex the water just slips off. Also, the fact that it packs away makes it even better for me as I have to carry a lot of stuff with me. I strongly recommend this jacket. It's best I have ever used.

This jacket replaced my older Beta from 6 years ago. It has been fantastic as an easy shell in mild winter conditions and hiking as comfortable shelter through rain and wind on exposed mountain hikes and climbs.

Overall really good jacket as an emergency shell or a backup raincoat to keep in a bag. Super light and will fold up nicely in a small bag which makes taking it places a breeze. The zipper is amazing quality and I have mor confidence knowing that the zipper will help repel water. If you're looking for a nice light rain coat I think this will be one of the best. It seems to fit very well, better than the beta series which seems a little larger than advertised, presumably because it's meant to layer more than this one is.

I love this jacket. I have the Alpha SV, and Atom light. Now the Zeta SL. I love it! It's the percfest jacket to wear to soccer field or to go on a hike in the rain. It fits well. Not loose. Super light and easy to pack up and throw in a day pack. For the price I think it's a great purchase.

Purchased very recently. First real test was an outdoor event where there was consistent heavy rain for two-and-a half hours. Temp 55 degrees F. Wore Atom SL hoody underneath and was totally dry and comfortably warm. Very pleased.

See list of pros and cons. I have the trail blaze colour, and understand that it is super bright and you will stand out. The fit is fantastic. I sized down because I wont be using this w thick layers. This is probably not ideal for winter use. Although it marketed as an emergency shell, I intend to use it as a primary jacket for spring, fall, summer hiking. The face fabric is a bit more durable than the FL version, but is still light and packable. I have 3 other Arc'teryx shells so have no problem recommending this one.

Normally I wear a L in Arc "regular fit" but I bumped up to an XL for this as it's "trim fit" and it's absolutely perfect. I can layer with it or use it as a stand-alone with a T-shirt and it's spot on.

Solid jacket, with great mobility. Material is nearly bulletproof and very breathable. It doubles as a winter shell as well. Love the bright Colors like Dynasty or Wildchild, as I like to be seen wherever I take this coat, Bright colors are a great safety feature. The jacket is sleek and not too slim. Very minimal and packs pretty well. Offers top-tier protection from the elements. The biggest downside is I cannot get the hood to sit right. It just has a bit too much space there, with one adjustment feature.
