Very pretty boot EXCEPT that the shaft and circumference measurements are inaccurate. It states 14.5 and 14 respectively but it's more like a 16 inch shaft and a 14.5 circumference. When you're a petite, the extra 1.5 inches in height makes a difference! Additionally, the sides of the boot flares out in a weird way so that the circumference looks even bigger than 14.5. Hope this helps! Unfortunately, the boot's going back.

These boots came and were beautiful, however I could barely get my foot in them. They were very stiff and uncomfortable especially around the ankles. I really wanted these to work and be a perfect fit, but they weren't. Also, I noticed was that the bottoms were different. One looked kind of worn, while the other was shiny. Not sure if that was a defect, the boots weren't from the same lot, or if that is normal. Regardless, I could have lived with this had they been comfortable.

I was so excited about these boots, and had read the reviews. But when I got them, I was disappointed in a few aspects. Contrary to one review I read, they cannot work with orthotics, which is a necessity for me. The ball of the foot was quite narrow while the heel was medium-wide width. The leather would definitely take breaking in. I had concerns about the zipper as it was pretty chunky, and not supple and able to smoothly go up and down like the vintage leather boots. I had chosen these because they were among the best boots that were real leather and leather lined. But the fit just wasn't meant to be.

I really wanted to love these but they just didn't work for me. Black dye ended up everywhere and I didn't like the styling at the top.

Love the look of these boots but when zipping them up, it was too tight on my calves. I have skinny legs and was shocked that they wouldn't fit. I've never had this problem before so I would be worried they don't fit for most.

More brownish than what I consider graphite (which would have been more gray). I would have kept them, they are gorgeous, but the shaft was very big on me. My calves measure 13.5” at the widest and they were 1” too big. Sad to have to return them.

I was really hoping these would be THE ONES but alas they were uncomfortable around the ankle. It was very stiff and tight. I have small calves and the top of the boot juts out in a strange way on the outside side. II will be sending these back.

These are gorgeous and loved how they looked on, but they were extremely uncomfortable. The length of the boot was fine, heel to toe, but the width of the footbed seemed wide--my heel kept slipping out as I walked, and I felt myself getting "hot spots" on my heels within literally 3 minutes of walking around my bedroom. Sad to return these, but there's no way I can pay $300+ for uncomfortable boots, so they're going back.

The shaft is taller than it was in the description.

Nice looking boot. Seemed to run a little small. Big issue was the shaft circumference. The 14 inch was too big for my 13 in calves. Swimming in them. Returning them. I am finding the only boots that are truly for smaller calves are La Canadian boots.

Soo, I bought these in an attempt to replace a pair of Reiker boots I bought more than a decade ago. These look almost identical to that boot so I was super-excited. ... Until they arrived and I tried them on. I ordered a 9.5 (never worn that size in life) because I am an 8.5-9 and many reviews stated these ran small. Also, my foot is wide-ish. Not to the point that I require a wide width but I def have issues with footwear that leans toward the narrow side. This boot ALMOST fit. My heel slips and it feels like if I went down a half size the rest of the shoe would feel too narrow. Also worth noting, I'm 5'2. The height is fine. The boot was way too big for my calves. Im not skinny and am a runner. Sending them back and continuing my search. If they fit your foot and calf well you're in luck-it's a nice looking boot. Dont know how comfy theyd be for all day wear. Doesn't feel like there's any padding in the footbed.

These are ridiculously stiff! I like the look of this boot, yet it is very difficult to put on and I have slim calves! The zipper sticks and the sole is extremely stiff and slippery. I wanted to love them, but these were a no go.

This is my third pair of Frye boots and I was very disappointed. They are very uncomfortable. I thought maybe I needed to break them in so I've been wearing for about a month and by the end of the day my feet are so tired. There's no give in them, very stiff unlike my other 2 pair of Frye boots. Very disappointing especially given the price

These are beautiful boots, but they just did not work out for me. They weren't as tall as I'd hoped, and the shafts were very stiff and a bit wide. I also didn't think they would be comfortable for very long. Back they went.

I think these boots are beautiful but unfortunately I couldn't get them to fit. I ordered a 7 1/2 but had to send back because they were too big. When I received the 7, they were too small. Which stinks, because I really wanted to keep them.

I wanted to love these but unfortunately, the sides of both boots dug into my lateral malleolus and was too uncomfortable. I have to return these.

I wore these for two hours to attend a Christmas concert. The leather scratched all over and the ankles were buckling right into my anklebone for no reason. Sadly I am going to have to return even though they are beautiful boots. The amount of wear that the boot showed after just two hours of sitting in them did not seem normal.

I couldn't even get these on my feet in my regular size, so I have no idea how they feel. I felt like Cinderella's stepsister.

The sizing is all wrong with these boots. The size 6 was way too tight and the size 6.5 was too big. I have a narrow foot and calf and the boots were tight in both sizes (except for the 6.5 heel, which was too wide which is why have to return them).

The thrill of opening a box of Frye boots with the smell and the beauty is ... AMAZING. Only to have these boots make my calf feel like it's being strangled!!! Not sure if this is a defect of this particular style/pair....??? But Frye really missed the mark on making these only fit about 2% of women with stick legs! I've never had any issues fitting my calves into regular boots....never needed wide calf....ever. had to return and go back to the drawing board. Thanks zappos for your awesome customer service and ease to return.

Don't be fooled by the average stars rated - most of those people sent them back so read the reviews thoroughly! The calves are very narrow, but I got them zipped up. The shaft height is higher than it says (I've asked them to correct). It's closer to 15.5" in the front. I am between a size 7.5 and 8, I initially got the 8 but it was too big. Was hoping the 7.5" would be better. Still hit my knee (I'm short though 5'3") but fit in the foot. Zipper is stiff. But the WORST part is that the leather is so stiff. I wore them around the house and the leather was buckling into the back of my heal and I'm sure they will crease in short order. Not comfortable at all - they hurt. I read every review to see if it would loosen up. Only one reviewer gave the review after wearing them long enough to find out and she said after wearing them for 2 months there was no change. So I'm going to have to send them back. Lovely otherwise, but can't wear a boot all day that is awkward and hurts. Just beware, most of these 4* and 5* reviews returned them, with the same issues. I don't think if you are returning something you should be giving it a 5* review -- there is obviously something wrong with them even if it's just for you. When I see 4 out of 5 stars I think most people loved them!

Continue to be disappointed by Frye! I keep wanting to love their boots because they look great in pictures. These pair look good in person too with nice leather and classic minimalist styling. But they don't fit! I ordered half size bigger than dress shoe size but barely can wear socks with these boots. The calf part is so tight and cannot zip up all the way with leggings. Imagine skinny jeans? Frye has been very inconsistent in their sizing. I ordered a similar Frye style in the same size which is mush looser than these pair. But neither has zippers would zip smoothly. Bottoms have no traction and are super slick. Both have to go back. I am giving up on Frye now...

These boots LOOK fabulous. However, there is a flaw in the design. The boot was definitely long enough - too long when I held it up to my foot. But, there was NO way my foot was fitting into the opening.

Very disappointed in the detail information. They have the boot shaft as 14.5 inches tall but n fact they are 16 inches. I was so excited to see a shorter boot shaft since I am 5'2" but realized when open the box it was incorrect so they are going back.

Very disappointed. The description is 14" circumference for a size 10 and is really a 16.5" It bulges out at the top, and inside at the ankle cuts in. Very uncomfortable, and wrong description.
