The leather is too rough and it’s not as comfortable as expected. The color and style look great.

These boots are beautiful in person. The color is true to the picture. They are a little tight around the calfs but they are leather so they should loosen with time. The fit snug around the ankle and the leather is stiff so they stay up very well and don't sag or bunch around the ankles. I am 5'7" and it hits a little below my knees so the height is great if you are tall. The price is a little steep but they do seem to be really well made so hopefully they will last a long time.

Beautiful boot but boot shaft is too small and I don't have a athletic leg.

These are beautiful boots, well made and and classic style. Everything about them was near perfect, except for me the fit was not right. My heel was slipping from the gap in the back yet it was tight on my foot. I hate to return them, but I must.

The Frye Jayden Button Tall are beautiful boots - the craftsmanship is evident the moment it comes out of the box. It is true to size. I wear 10M. But, it was tough to get them on over my thick winter socks (so it is on the smaller end of true to size). The leather is wonderful and these boots will no doubt wear to an incredible softness. Unfortunately, I returned them because the calf circumference is quite small. I can usually just squeeze into standard sized circumference boots (15 to 15.5") in pants/leggings/boot socks, and get them on easily in tights/stockings, but these are about 2 inches too small in circumference and have no give to them at all (they will likely soften extensively over time as a result of the superb leather). I'm 5'9", wear Size 32 Jeans, and wear a 10M, so the top of the boot hits me lower than someone shorter than me (and therefore on the widest part of my calf). Also, they don't hug the curve of the leg the way some boots do, and looked a bit masculine on me, especially in the front of the ankle (even though they were so tight at the top, I couldn't zip them). But this is style to taste, and could change based on your opinions. Hope this helps :)

I loved these. The suede really sets them off... it's gorgeous. They are true to size and have a thicker, grippier sole than my other Frye Paige's. The brown is so beautiful. I am 5'11'' and they could be taller but the height is all right.

Extremely difficult to put on due to very stiff leather. I assume it'd soften up over time but I don't have time to wait for that. I need them for a trip this weekend. Seems like they are very high quality.

Looooooovvvved these boots but couldn't quite get them zipped on my athletic calves. So bummed because they are beautiful!!

I got both the 11 and the 10 and they were huge. I just ordered a size 9. I am usually a size 10. The calf is not tight on the leg and it's a bit too large. Also I wish they would package them better. The top part of both boots are kind of bended, due to how they were placed inside the box. The jury is still out if I will keep them.

Loved the look and feel of this boot but the leather was a little too 'vintage' for me...very worn on one side. Am returning and hoping that the replacement pair will be more uniform in its texture.

Beautiful boot but couldn't zip it over my calves! I don't have that problem normally, especially in free boots which tend to have super wide calf dimensions. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Love love love but tight and wasn't prepared for the slick bottom of the shoe but had to return because I would need a 1/2 size bigger with a sock on.

These are super high quality leather boots. The leather is thick so I know they will last a lifetime. With that said the leather is stiff and will take time to break them in but the leather doesn't sag in the ankle area which is a pet peeve of mine. My only complaint is that they can be slippery and the material of the sole doesn't absorb any sound so they are a little loud to walk in.

These boots are beautiful - I got the redwood pair and the color is a rich reddish brown; it is absolutely perfect. They are the best quality boots that I have seen in a while, with a stiff but forgiving leather calf that stands up tall on its own (the sign of good leather). My only qualm is that I wish these were a little bit taller so they hit directly under my knee, but I have yet to find a boot that does. I am 5'7" and these fall short of my knee by about an inch and a half. I would also love if they were even stiffer so there was no slouch at all when wearing, but again, I have yet to find boots that do this unless they are a true riding boot, which is not very comfortable, anyway. Aside from my nitpickiness, the Jayden Buttons are pretty darn close to perfect. They are keepers.

Loved the style so much but the ankle was so narrow I couldn't get my foot into the boot. The zipper didn't go down far enough...odd design flaw.

I am disappointed because although these boots are a bit hard on my foot beds, I was prepared to break them in. But yet again I have to return yet another pair of boots I thought would have been perfect for me. The 13 inch circumference was definitely what I needed, but the 15 inch shaft height was not. I am 5’9”, long legs and I felt Frye should account for the taller girls of the world. The height reached an inch and a half below my knee where as a taller height would be perfect, maybe a 16 - 16.5 shaft height. The way the boot is cut in the calf area it sits in between my calf making it look like I have a top calf and a bottom calf, LOL. It sounds ridiculous but I cannot quite describe it. It just didn’t look right on my legs because I am tall. It just wasn’t for me. Maybe for women with shorter limbs ? ? Anyway, the boots are beautiful and I want to cry because the price was AMAZING for Frye, it will never be that low again. Back to the hunt of searching for the perfect boot for me.

Hard boots! But not overly uncomfortable neither were they comfortable. I was prepared to break them in. I am a size 8 but I got this boot in a 8.5, and it’s a good thing, too or else it would have been tight on my feet. It’s already a hard, stiff boot and with that half an inch, it left room for socks. I wasn’t happy with the height of the shaft... I wish Frye would have made them an inch and a half taller, so instead of a 15 inch shaft height a 16.5 height would have made a huge difference in my decision to keep them. I am a tall girl of 5’9” with long legs and slim calves (which they fit my calves circumference) I felt the shaft only reached my leg an inch to about an inch and a half below my knees. A taller shaft height would have hugged my calves better making this rating near perfect. All that to say, these are beautiful looking boots, but would probably be best on women with shorter leg limbs and narrow calves. I am sorry to return them, but I cannot keep something I will never wear. Back to my knee high boots search...

Too narrow @ calf

These boots looked good, however, the size 8 I ordered was too small and the boot fits very tight around the calf. I image the calf will stretch out with wear. I am returning and hoping the 8.5 works.

These boots are beautiful but they do run small. Order half size up.

The sole is so slippery that I'm afraid I'm going to fall to my death. The leather is also very stiff. I agree with one of the other reviewers that it makes your knees look not very straight. returning.

I've always loved Frye Boots, but was disappointed by the width of the shaft. It was very wide at the top and looked very loose. The overall fit was true to size and the leather was very nice. Unfortunately, must return.

I wanted to love these boots. I have pretty skinny legs and narrow feet, so when I put them on they were pretty wide. I am usually a size 10, but I decided to size up due to thick socks that I like to wear with boots. These felt way too big and way too stiff. Otherwise beautiful boots.

I wanted to like these boots. Tried black and mahogany. The mahogany color is beautiful. I normally wear a 8.5. In this shoe, I could not get it over my heel. (I have very average heels and thin ankles.) Anyway. in my quest to obtain the perfect boot- I ordered the next 2 sizes up, 9 and 9.5. 9 was ok- just very stiff and rubbed my ankles as I walked- enough to have caused blisters with prolonged wear. I tried the 9.5 with a heavy duty wool sock and was happy to find that I could get the shoe on and off with out much struggle. However, sizing up a full size did not relieve the pressure spots around my ankles as I walked. As some other reviews mentioned (and why I was surprised they continued to rub in a larger size) the ankles look kinda loose and sloppy from the outside. Plus my heels sloshed around in the larger size. So, as much as the color was beautiful and the style looked so promising....The fit was just not right. Thanks Zappos for letting me try all three pairs!
