Love these boots! They were somewhat uncomfortable on the first wear, as usual with leather. By the second wear I forgot I was breaking in new boots. I have a very narrow calf, and they are the closest I’ve been able to get to the tight-fitting look I want. The leather is beautiful.

These boots are gorgeous and I really wanted them to work. They did not fit around the top part of my calves. I thought about trying to break them in but they were a good half inch away from zipping.

These boots are gorgeous, but too big on my skinny calves. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7, but am a 6 in Fryes.

Fantastic. A brown without any blue. A bit formal and shiny but knowing Frye, they will age very well. I bought my last Frye boots 9 years ago and this is my next big purchase. Though pricey, they seem like a great investment.

These are beautiful. I think I have average size calves and these are tighter over skinny jeans than my Melissa Button boots (about an inch difference in circumference). I can fit a couple fingers between my jeans and the boot so I guess they're ok, just more snug than I'm used to and I'm not sure I like the feel. Also, they are almost two inches taller than my Melissa Button boots (I knew they were taller but wasn't sure how that would look/feel) so I'm not sure I like the feel of that either. Not sure yet if I'm keeping them. However, if your calves are average size and you like a very tall boot, you will probably love these.

These are very attractive traditional riding boots with a refined but slightly western/Frye flair. I bought them for my 15 year old daughter who is very petite and struggles finding riding boots that are not too tall or wide in the calf. Although these boots do still stand slightly away from her skinny jeans or leggings when she is wearing them, they are a nice slim fit in the calf and the top hits just below her knee. I am glad to have found a boot for her that both of us love, and now that her feet appear to have stopped growing, they are well worth the investment.

What's not to like?! Frye always makes a gorgeous boot. This boot was true to "Frye" form and took a few wearings to fully mold and stretch to my feet and now I could walk a mile in them. I'm always nervous when my Frye's feel a bit tight, but they always seem to come around after a few days with a bit heavier sock.

Beautiful leather and boot but it was hard to get on. The way it was packaged the leather was bent at the top, I assume this would get better over time. The circumference of the shaft was too small for my skinny calves, otherwise I would have kept the boot.

These fit perfectly from the first time I put them on--no blisters, hot spots, or other discomfort. They are very comfortable and beautifully made. I wear 9.5-10M, and the 10M are just right. A bit of stiffness in the zipper near my Achilles tendon, but that relaxed quickly. I had a pair of Frye ballet flats that were too big and never fit right, so I was a bit hesitant to order Frye footwear again, but these boots are wonderful. I have crazy-high arches, and these aren't bad in terms of support.

Beautiful shoe - loved it width was great and calf width was perfect, but it was really loose on my heal, unlike other Frye boots, and I was not able to wear it - so unfortunately I had to return it.

It did not fit well.

These are the most beautiful Frye boots I've ever touched and smelled. The problem is they are really rigid and tight below the ankle bones. So, it's painful to walk. So I have to return them. :(

Pretty comfy, a lil more cushion in the sole would make them perfect!!! But they're close!

These are absolutely beautiful in every way: quality, style, materials . . . I love the shape, which shows the shape of your calf and ankle in a flattering way. They're a perfect fit and very comfortable, too. But I'm kind of knock-kneed, and because they stick out a little on the outside of each leg they emphasize that. Not sure if I will keep them, though I know it will be hard to find more stunning boots. Thanks, Zappos!

Love these boots! I have small calves and heels but these boots fit great and don't slip at all. They were a little stiff when I first got them but like my other Frye boots they didn't take long to break in. They work well with jeans, leggings, or tights.

Great flat boot. As always, Frye does not disappoint. I have narrowish feet and use an arch support. I wear a 7.5 or 38, and the 7.5 was just right. The shaft circumference is good for small calves. Not quite snug with tights, but I've learned to live with a bit of a gap.

Really loved this boot! I typically wear an 8, and occasionally a 7.5. I ordered both the 8 and 7.5 in this boot. I read that Frye's will stretch out slightly, and some heel slippage is normal upon first receiving the boots before you break them in. The size 8 fit well and zipped up well, but as I walked around my apartment there was a lot of slippage on my heel, to the point where my heel was coming up the back of the boot. I tried on the 7.5 and it fit my foot bed better than the 8, with just a slight amount of slippage. The problem I had with the 7.5's is that they were too tight on my calf. I was still able to zip them up but they felt uncomfortable and I'm not sure how much the calf region will stretch out. I ended up returning both, not because I didn't love the boot, I just was in between a 7.5 and an 8; and with a nearly $400 boot I don't want to have reservations about the size/fit and be able to wear them comfortably. Review I filled out below is based on the size 8, what I typically would wear.

These boots are perfect! The style is just what I was looking for to wear with skirts to work. I am very happy with the quality and fit. I wear them with a thin crew sock to keep my heel from rubbing.

Beautiful, well made boots, but had to be returned as the calf was too narrow. So sad, too bad.

The most gorgeous leather boot ever! The dark gray is actually a great brown without any red in it. I am thrilled with the quality and comfort of this product and Zappos is by far my favorite online site.
