Customer Reviews Merrell Thermo Aurora 2 Mid Shell Waterproof

I hike almost every day in Pennsylvania. The grip is good for snowy trails. However when the snow melts or it's really rainy these boots are not completely waterproof. They are water resistant but I need to avoid puddles and cannot cross streams without my feet getting wet and uncomfortable. I was really expecting better from Merrell. They claim these are waterproof and that is just not true. I'm going to try adding a waterproofing spray to see if it helps. The fit was accurate though and they are comfortable and warm in cold dry weather.

Poor support for the foot bed, had to buy new inserts. I hiked in the heavy spring snow, foot and ankle did not feel supported at all. I recommend maybe for slush on an easy walk in town. Foot did stay dry.

Bent out at the ankles loose gap / twisted sideways very uncomfortable

After wearing for a few weeks the inside of the left boot started to bend in and is now rubbing and giving blisters on my arch. They are warm and we're comfortable until they started to flex inward.

I read the reviews before purchasing and went with my normal size. I have never needed a wide width and was looking forward to putting these into use as soon as they arrived. The shipping was quick and reliable. They are way too narrow and seem small in general. I can't begin to use these. Very disappointed as I have very little options to purchase Merrell products locally. Buyer beware. I paid full price because I needed something for snowy conditions. Now I have to deal with getting them returned.

Purchased as a birthday gift to myself for walking to the metro. Absolutely no traction on various ice surfaces. A good rain boot, but unsuitable for icy winter conditions.

Terrible fit! The toe box is too roomy and the hard rubber hurts the top of your feet when walking.

I had only had them for a month before the sole started coming off. Both boots leak! Complete waste of money

I bought these for the non-skid feature. The design of these boots is horrible! They are made from "mixed media." Where the leather meets the fabric on the outer side of the boots, the edge of the leather rubs against your ankle bone. Also, the rubber on the toe comes all the way up to the laces and that gouges the top of your foot. I wore these for a 1/2 hour and came home to blisters on my ankle bones and a bruise on the top of my foot. I returned them to the store today. What a disappointment. These aren't up to Merrell's standards - and especially not at this price point.
