Super comfortable and definitely waterproof. Best hiking boots I've purchased thus far. I hiked in 30-40 degree weather, in mud and rain, and up quite a few inclines. My feet always stayed warm and never got wet! True to size.

Love these boots. I have used them about 10 times in the past few weeks. They have decent traction by themselves but work great with microspikes and snowshoes. Not really hiking boot support but better than a regular winter boot. Warm enough while active and waterproof which is mandatory.

I have very narrow, skinny feet so this item was a great find for additional ankle support. Originally ordered a 5.5 (true to size) but had to exchange and size down to a 5 for a more snug fit for hiking (the 5 is perfect) Used these for the first time yesterday for a 7-8 mile hike up in Harriman State Park and they were amazing. Great in the snow and ACTUALLY waterproof. I accidentally stepped in a puddle but my feet and socks were completely try when I pulled my foot out. If you're going for a winter hike I highly recommend wearing wool socks with these. The 7-8 mile hike took around 4.5 hours and my toes didn't get cold at all.

Flexible, comfortable and warm. These boots have enabled me to walk in the snow and cold this winter. I am thrilled. Haven't encountered a lot of ice yet, so I can't comment on that.

I bought these boots for my trip to Montana and they did not disappoint! I wore them all day on both of my flights and through 4 airports, and they were as comfortable as sneakers! They kept my feet warm and dry through many treks outside including two trips to Glacier National Park! My daughter even wore them sledding! I received numerous compliments on these boots and I definitely recommend them! I wear a 7.5 and with a thicker/warmer sock, these fit true to size.

Great for hiking and snowshoeing as well as navigating snow and ice on city street. The Arctic grip really works for traction and no ice buildup on snowshoe deck. Very stable boot with a soft cuff for comfort.

Bought these boots online and not only was shipping super quick they fit perfectly! We just had 8 inches of snow and it's been down in the low teens mist night but my feet stay toasty warm! These boots are some comfy I can wear them for hours inside and not have sweaty feet too.

Super comfortable boot! These required absolutely no break-in period. Wore them straight out-of-the-box on several winter hikes and snowshoeing. Kept my feet warm in below zero temps and definitely appreciate the flexible uppers. Love, LOVE them and highly recommend!!

I am loving these for winter hiking! They are sturdy enough to put spikes on, and excited to use these soon for snow shoeing. They keep my feet dry & warm and have the perfect ankle height to keep the snow out.

I bought these to take out on the trails this winter. First 5-mile hike and nothing but good things to say. They're warm. Have good grip. No rubbing or need to break in. Comfortable, functional, waterproof. I did order a 1/2 size up because I err on the side of caution and would rather my shoes be slightly large than slightly small. I think I could have gone with my actual size, but the 1/2 size up doesn't create any issues with comfort or functionality. Good purchase. Highly recommend.

I am very impressed with these boots. I live in Northeast Ohio. I've taken them on some snowy, muddy, cold hikes and my feet have been warm and dry. I wear an 8 and took a chance and ordered an 8 in these - they fit fine.

Warm, great traction, sturdy and good ankle support. I have a very narrow foot and these are still awesome but would have preferred more arch support and narrowness in foot bed. The wool upper part is fantastic and my feet are not cold at any moment. Decent traction on ice without micro spikes and great in snow. Love the grey and purple color!

You are going to love these boots. The minute I put them on I knew they'd be comfy! No break in period. Cushy foot bed and very warm! I like that I won't have to wear heavy socks with these to keep my feet warm. I got the brown and it's a nice color! The lugs are good and I'm excited to try the new Arctic Grip sole. They run true to size.

I received these boots promptly and when I opened the box I was surprised that the toe was a synthetic material and not leather. However, the boot is great. It probably could use one more hole/grommet for the laces, as the tongue area gaps a bit, but the places it gaps bends with your movement. I like the unconventional color and I was immediately able to hike over three miles the first time I wore them without any problem.

I bought these last winter then didn't have any more snow, so no chance to wear them. I put them on and wore them around the house and loved them. Couldn't wait to wear them this year! Went on a short walk in the neighborhood at the first sign of snow, I didn't go 1/2 mile before something was rubbing on the back of my ankle. By time I got home it was well past the blister stage and I'd worn a hole in my ankle. Closer inspection revealed a hard lump inside the boot under the lining where the two outer materials join - perhaps a knot of thread? It's going to need some padding. Otherwise, I still love the boots, but I recommend buying in person and checking for quality control issues before buying. But that is getting harder and harder to do :(

Great for keeping my feet warm and dry while hiking through mud and snow. They feel a bit large, even with bulky socks. I am on the shorter side and the shoes are very comfortable and are not too tight on my calves.

I love merrel boots. But they do run small. I've always had to order a half size to a size bigger then what I normally wear.

Well made, sturdy and warm hiking boot. It fits a half size larger which is fine for thick socks. I would have liked more arch support and a little more height in the toe bed to freely wiggle toes. I had to remove the insoles and replace with orthotic inserts. Even then, it presses the top front of my foot a bit.

I was pleasantly surprised by these boots. They do run a bit big but I wanted to be able to wear them with thick socks so that worked out. I normally wear a 8-8.5 and did order the 8.5. I like that they are easy to get on and the height is nice and not restrictive at all. These are fairly warm but not the warmest (hence only 4 stars) - I do put foot warmers in them because I tend to get cold easy so this might not be an issue for others. I have used these for active snow pursuits like snowshoeing and winter hiking and found these very comfortable and I did not overheat. The grip is great on fairly icy conditions and the shape of boot is streamlined enough for adding ice cleets which is important for me. I need a wide toe box and even with thick socks there is enough room which I struggle to find in most boots. I also like that there is a hook at the toes to accommodate snow pants that have that option - creating a gator of sorts. Overall, I am very pleased with these boots and would buy them again. Merrell has great quality gear.
