The tongue on this shoe dug directly into my ankle. It's not padded - more like a hard canvas material with a stiff, straight edge. I cannot imagine anyone would be able to run with this tongue. Even with a thicker sock it dug into my skin after a short walk across the bedroom. The bottom of the shoes looked interesting and I was looking forward to trying it. Oh well

I liked the shoe comfort but the back of the heel sticks out quite far and they looked like clown shoes on me - so I returned them. I've seen other Hoka's that look better but all the ones I wanted at the time were sold out.

I basically liked the shoe, but it was too narrow on my foot.

My previous Hokas like most run a full size smaller for me, typically in other shoes I am 8.5 but Hoka usually 7.5. Went middle of the road and they were too small and quite a bit more narrow so had to return them. Super comfy and cute otherwise.

I love Cliftons, no better shoe, have worn them for years. Couldn't wait for this one to become available. Gives a good run but I found them narrow in the toe box. Run this morning was an 8 miler, both big toes sore. It's been a long time since I have lost toenails. I am hoping I can stretch the toe box. Still a great shoe since the knits.

I was expecting to love the shoes as a friend told me she loves hers. However, they seemed like nothing special, and I did not like them as well as the Brooks or Clarks I already have. They were fine as far as comfort goes, and lightweight. But I did not find wearing them to be enjoyable or noticeably different.

This is the 4th pair of HOKA Clifton's I've purchased. I returned them as they were not comfortable. The padding on the tongue was very thin, the base of the shoe too wide. First time I've ever returned a pair of Hokas

They shoes are probably great for running, I can feel how supportive they are. However, after trying on another pair at the store I bought these online and sadly, this pair was too small. Not sure why there's such a big difference. In any case, they look good, feel good but won't fit length-wise.

Could not get gait right in this type of sole. First time tying it. Arch support and fit were comfortable as usual with Hoka.

I'm a police cadet and have been using the Rincon's to train. I thought I'd go for increased support once starting our academy and splurge on the Clifton's. It was a mistake. The heel support feels like it sticks during sprints and they generally feel heavier and WAY more bulky. They do provide ample support, but they're definitely not for sprinting or short distance, speed work.

So I've bought other Hoka shoes before and my slightly wide feet didn't mind them. These strangled my feet unfortunately. The sides of my arch were squeezed so tight I tried the shoe on for two seconds and then kicked them off immediately. It's a bummer, I love how they look. Another style of Hokas were the winner though and I got to still keep a pair of Hokas I ordered.

Comfort was good, but I couldn’t get over the back of the shoe. My feet felt HUGE! Loved the color.

The extended sole of the sneaker is awkward and unattractive. Bad design.

I was very excited to get these shoes. I loved the color and everything about the way they looked. My first pair of Hoka’s was a Bondi 7. They fit beautifully and were so comfortable. So i saw these Clifton edge and decided to try another style hoping they would be just as comfortable. Sadly they don’t come close. The heel is very narrow and just doesn’t have a lot of cushion. I also have plantar fasciitis and use an insert for additional cushioning. When the insert in place i can’t even get my foot in the shoe. There is some weird stretch netting that anchors the tongue to the bottom of the shoe. So these have to go back.

The heal padding on the left shoe moves around under the material and makes the shoe feel uncomfortable like my heal is a little loose in the shoe m. I have to use my fingers to get the padding flat before slipping my foot into the shoe and it still feels like there is not enough padding. The right shoe is fine.

I really like this Clifton Edge but I wore them on a walk/run and I noticed the right foot heel dipped down more than the left thereby creating an uncomfortable uneven feeling. I was going to return and replace - but I thought maybe that's how the shoe is made. So I went for the Bondi 7.

I wear a size 9 with orthodics in the last two Clifton models. Thought I would try the Clifton Edge out. I bought the size 9 and put my orthodics in and the shoe is too small and tight in the toe box. Bummer. It has that annoying unpadded tongue that cuts into the top of your foot as well. Who likes this and why do they keep bringing it back?

I like the shoe, it is comfortable, but I need more support in my heel and the arch. I have plantar fasciitis, and in pain. I have inserts that help me. I would buy this brand, but possibly a different style. I have had my physical therapist, they really like the style and the shoe is comfortable. I will try a different style with more support fir my problem.

I felt this shoe was much more firm, I like the cushion feel of the Clifton and thought this shoe would mimic that but did not. Is a light shoe like the Clifton just lacks cushion.
