I've had my S/Lab's for 3 years now, put 400km of various hiking terrain from normal trail running/ hiking to mountain scrambles on them and they've held up! Now it's time to retire them for another pair as the tread has worn out but overall very impressed. These are my favourite hiking runner out there. Not a fan of of the big bulky hiking boots.

My favourite shoes. They fit perfectly, feel comfortable and you can run many miles in them.

This is by far my favorite trail shoe in the Salomon lineup. The fit and comfort out of the box is excellent and runs absolutely true to size. The features I love the most are the fit and comfort of the gusseted tongue, quick-lace system, breathable and comfortable mesh upper, and underfoot protection. I can use this shoe for everything from fast uptempo trail runs to the grueling 100 mile distance. The only thing I would like to see improved on this shoe is more durability to the outsole material. I find the rubber to wear more quickly than other shoes in this category and price-point. Overall, this is still the best shoe I have worn from Salomon in many years.

I've never been much for a lot of cushioning. I like to keep my feet low to the ground and feel the terrain. These shoes might be changing my mind. They are light and feel fast, while providing great stability and ground feel, even with the extra stack height and cushion. The upper fits like a glove, and they are probably the most comfortable fit I've experienced out of the box. The outsole is grippy enough for any terrain, and the lug pattern works well in muddy conditions. These are definitely worth a try for distances over 50 miles, or even just for those recovery runs where you want to give the feet a break.

Was hesitant at first, but after a day or so of breaking them in, these things are incredible! Can't wait for many adventures up in the mountains with them.

Definitely very form fitting. I usually have difficulty finding shoes for my narrow feet, but these fit the bill. Feel very stable and comfortable. Can't wait to get them into the mountains this summer.

I love hiking and trail running with my dog. I am a personal trainer and fitness is number 1 part of my life. I time myself during my some of my hikes and trail running days. I noticed my new salmon shoes has been helping my performance and I have been finishing my trail running faster by 5 to 10 minutes compared to before.

These shoes have been a staple in my closet for all of my trail races that take place in Canada and Northeastern American trails. I find the weight to support ratio for technical terrains is exactly what I need. The shoe also provides a bit more room in the toe box compared to the majority of Salomon shoes.

Yes, yes; as you've all heard, the sock-like design makes getting the shoe on your foot a little more involved. Personally I find this design hugs the foot and heel better when your negotiating technical terrain. Beyond that, the lace pocket is more robust than that of the sense ride 3 era.
I wore these shoes out of the box on a 10k trail race and my feet felt fresh by the time I crossed the finish line. As stated in the title, they're very responsive and incredibly comfortable. I highly reccomend these shoes if you are *already a fan of salomon trail shoes* and *looking to upgrade/need a new pair*. If you're new to trail running and looking for a pair of shoes, there are other more inexpensive options to get accustomed to the trail feel... that being said, these are a great shoe if you're diving in completely.

Very comfortable. Not the lightest shoes but the weight is acceptable. Like all other S/Lab shoes, I minimize the use for non-race running. I went for two test runs before a 50 mile race and I didn't have any issue on my feet. These shoes helped me set a new course record ;) Because I bought them at the last minute before the race and I didn't want to take a chance of hurting my Talus, I didn't put the square plastic parts of the quick lace in the little pockets. (That was an issue with Ultra Glide 2. I haven't had the same issue with any other Salomon shoes.) Salomon's newer models tend to fit large but these pair are true to the size.

I bought this shoe ahead of the Spartan 50k in Killington, vt and I was not let down! They handled the 16k vert and all the mud with wase. With a pair of insoles needed due to my flat feet there couldn't have been a better shoe to have out there.

This is my third pair of S/LAB ULTRA 3's. I had a pair of last years and 2 pairs of this year's version. They are the best shoes I've had when considering comfort, durability and fit. I mostly run 50k's but have taken them on long ridge walks in Glacier Park, several scrambles to reach peaks and multi-day fastpacking trips through the Bob Marshall. I put 600 miles on the first 2 pairs and will likely do the same with my current pair. They never get holes, and the tread seems to last quite a while even on rocky terrain. Usually, I switch them out when the cushion gets too thin which happens around the 600-mile mark for me. I highly recommend these shoes for any distance and terrain. The only downside for me is the color.

These shoes are so good. Bought them for my 18 mile trail race , they feel very speedy . Also very little wobbling of my foot which felt good when running downhill aggressively. Will wear them for future races, though I like something a little softer for every day training. That said they are pretty comfy for the average foot.

Fantastic trailshoe. Fit is spot on and it is perfect for the rooty and rocky trails I run on typically.

I bought the S/Lab Ultra 3 a few weeks ago, put some good kilometres on them quickly, and just ran my first 50k in them. I couldn't be happier with their fit, feel, and performance.

Got these shoes for a trail half-marathon and so far I've got no complaints. The fit is great (note that I have narrow feet), they feel very nimble on technical terrain, and the level of cushion feels spot on--not too much not too little. The cushioning does not give a big squishy or bouncy sensation but I try to avoid that feeling for trail shoes in favor of a bit more ground feel and stability. The shoes feel lightweight to me but that's all relative to your previous shoe. They aren't easy to put on but to me that's a very minor complaint compared to everything the shoes do well.

This have to be the best trail running shoes about there. I felt the difference soon as I tried them on. It's almost like wearing a pair of comfortable socks.
Toe protection is great , great grip on all terrain. I haven't tried them on wet surfaces yet. But I'm sure they will do well.

My fav trail shoe EVER! I've been a trail runner and hiker for a long time, wearing a number of different trail sneakers. These are the best! I love the inner sock design and the cinch tie feature and it fits my foot like a glove. The tread is perfectly grippy on all kinds of trail surfaces. I thought the color was kind of ugly on-line, but when it arrived I really liked that too.

I love these shoes. The low stack height makes them feel stable and nimble on technical trails and off-trail terrain. They are very comfortable out of the box. I have a medium width foot, and these fit my foot perfectly - the toe box is somewhat wide, but not too wide. The fit is similar to some other Salomon shoes I've worn (Speedcross 5 and Pulsar Trail Pro) but the toe box is maybe a little wider, and they also might be like a millimeter longer. They are pretty durable - I've had a couple lugs rip off from descending scree/talus fields, but they've held up pretty well on rough terrain considering how light they are. The midsoles have also held up very well, with almost no deformation.
