The shoe was an upgrade from the Ravenna 10 I had been running in. These are very comfortable. The only thing I have against these is that they are wearing out faster than they should. I have been running, mainly on a treadmill, 2-3 miles once a week. 6 months in, its almost time to replace them.

Light and stylish but not enough cushioning for my feet. If you have plantar fascitis like me, stick with the ghost or glycerin.

not enough cushion. I love the laces though. They have some stretch to them. but after a few runs, these aren't the Brooks for me.

So far so good, but looks like the foam wears out pretty quick

Super comfortable and light but I didn?t feel a lot of cushioning or springiness which is what I wanted. Probably a great training shoe for runners on the lighter side.

I was looking for a good walking shoe. I loved the Brooks Ghost 13, but they no longer have them available. Very disappointed. Decided to give these a try. I’m a size 8 and they were a at least a size larger. I sent them back.

Only ran in the shoes once and they were light and very little cushion. I am concerned that they will not hold up during a marathon. I am a heel striker and they did not really work for me.

I did 67 miles in this shoe, but have recently returned it. My review will cover the things I like and didn't like about this shoe. First the good - I really liked the lightness of this shoe and the DNA FLASH foam has good response and cushion. I'd consider it a good speed training shoe, which thrives in the sub 15k range. I wouldn't race a half in this shoe though personally, just not quite enough cushion there for me. I'm 6'3 180lbs, and I just would like a bit more there to feel comfortable with this shoe getting me thru a half marathon. However, I don't really see this shoe as a half marathon racer, it's a great trainer. It's breathable too, and I like the color template Brooks chose. Last good feature, it fits like a glove. Great job with the upper overall. The bad - non-gusseted short tongue! Brooks please fix this in edition 2. This is the main reason I ended up returning this shoe. It moves no matter how tight you lace, and if you runners knot the tongue is barely going to come above that...just don't understand the shortness here... The heel counter was there, but it needs a bit more padding. Brooks has done a great service in the Ghost, Adernaline, and Ravenna (all shoes I've loved) with great heel counters and durable, comfortable padding. Not so much in this shoe..I get it is to trim weight, but please give a bit more heel cushion in version 2 of this shoe! I really really wanted to love this shoe, and I would easily give it a 5 star rating if you just fixed the short tongue and gave a bit more padding in the heel!

Ride is good -- feels responsive and quick. But my foot seems to want to drift forward in the shoe.

While the shoe is extremely lightweight, the foam bottom feels a little "clunky" when your foot strikes the ground. I was expecting a softer, bouncier feel, but this is not the case.

Responsive vs cushion. I was hoping for a little softer forefoot. I can't run more than 8 miles in these shoes before my feet hurt. I have done any speed or interval runs in them yet.

This is a first impressions review as I put only 26 miles on it. So far it feels ok for long and easy runs. The shoe is not a fast one but stays stable and relatively comfortable. Its light which is its best quality. Other than that do not expect a lot.

In short, I question if this is truly a road shoe that you can put mileage on. I took the shoes out for my 1st road 5 mile run of the season and ran over about .4 mile on road/gravel during my road run and it mini punctured the soles of the shoe. I'm pretty disappointed because the shoes are light and have a great feel. I'm just wondering if these can stand up to my 1/2 Marathon training on the road or are better suited for the gym/casual use.

It's a decent shoe but it lacks sturdiness. It also lacks the same cushion and push as something like the adrenaline. For a running shoe in the future I would skip this and get either the adrenaline or the ghost.

This shoe is better than the trace but not as good as the ghost. Wanted to try the style. I'm a Brooks fan but wouldn't buy the particular shoe again.

Not going to give a 1-star, that seems a bit too drastic, but I'd rather run in dress shoes than in these. I'll start with the positivesthese shoes look great and are pretty lightweight. And that's about it. These are possibly the most uncomfortable athletic shoes I've ever worn. As far as just walking around, they aren't necessarily uncomfortable, but they aren't comfortable, either. As far as athletically, they're hugely uncomfortable and problematic. I have flat feet that require orthotic inserts. I've never had an issue before when putting those inserts into athletic shoes of various types/brands and I barely notice them at this point for the most part. They were HUGELY uncomfortable in these shoes, however. More problematically, the combination of my inserts in these shoes exacerbated my particularly bad right foot to the point where it hurt to walk after wearing them for less than 10 miles (cumulatively over the course of a week, not in a single session). The only other time a pair of shoes exacerbated my foot issues this quickly was a pair of flip-flops i stupidly wore on an 8-mile walk through San Francisco. And, on top of the issues these caused for my foot, they also caused moderate knee and mild ankle pain, neither of which has ever been a problem in the past.

Not what I had expected in a running shoe as far as quality workmanship. Should have known better at the low price. Would like to return the shoes!
