Too wide all over for my narrow heel and foot

Using the Doc Martins size chart, they were true to size, that is, a full size smaller than I generally get. I am a 7, I ordered a 6 and they fit fine. However, I returned them because it was very difficult to get my foot inside the narrow ankle opening. I managed to do so to try them on. They were generally comfortable on my foot, but my ankle was squeezed uncomfortably. I did not feel they would "break in," or ever be easy to get on and off, or even wear, so I returned them. Too bad, because they were cute and I've been very happy with Dr. Ms in the past.

Really cool boots at a fair price. Great everyday black boot--not quite as clunky as regular docs can be. Great quality. Ended up returning though because they felt too narrow for my abnormally wide feet. Toe box was roomy though! Sad to return them. great buy for someone with a more normal sized foot. Fit slightly larger than expected.

I am a new fan of Dr Marten’s. I own their staple lace ups (not sure what the style is - 1942s?) and ran into the same issue I am having with the Embury. Docs just run large. I am typically an 8 in every high-quality brand but need a 7 in these. I looove these boots and am excited for the correct size to arrive! TL;DR Size down.

Love these boots, but felt a little wide for my preference. I’m usually size 9&1/2 to 10. Size 9 good for length, toe box has plenty of room. They are are little stiff feeling on the front of shin. I’m told they break in well. These also come with faux fur/insulation. Those seem to run a little more narrow if you need that. Kept those in a size 9. Had to return these due to width. Both are a great look!

They were a perfect fit on my feet and very comfortable, but as others have said they are super tight at the ankle. I could get my foot inside the shoe easily, but they were too tight at my ankle. If you have thin legs this is probably not an issue. I guess I have entered the cankle-phase of my life. Had to return.

Love the look. As others have stated, they are tough leather and it’s gonna be some work breaking them in around the ankles, but I think they’ll be more comfortable after that period. Keeping them and hoping for the best. Toe box is nice and spacious and sole is very comfortable.

Liked the look but they rubbed against the front of my ankle.

These boots felt very comfortable as soon as I put them on. After wearing them for some hrs, they do dig in a bit in the front just above my foot, only on the left. Hopefully that will go away as I break them in.

I ordered my regular size but they were huge. Ordered a size down and they fit well. Like the look and comfort.

I read all the reviews about the opening being very small and they were right. If you have wider calves/ankles, the opening is extremely tight. A few minutes of wearing these and I had rings around my ankles from where they squeezed. I kept them because I am hoping the leather will break in, but know that they are very, very tight at the ankle. The rest of the boot fits great. I need a very wide toe box but not a wide shoe overall and that's hard to find.

Runs a bit big, so I wear with insole inserts. Just like all Docs, they start out quite stiff, and you need to break them in by wearing around the house. After that initial break-in, they are very comfortable, great for walking, seem to be very water-resistant. They are very versatile, look great with all kinds of different outfits. Overall, I love them!

Cons: hard to get on initially. A shoe horn is helpful. Borrow one from your great grandfather. Sizing is odd. I got a 7 and they fit well. I am an 8 normally. Pros: stretch quickly, very comfortable, not heavy like other docs Do I recommend: Yes!

Love em - great price, simple style, reasonably comfortable. But caveat emptor - runs wide and large, needs cushioning on sole and very hard to get on. For the price, wonderful. But can't compete with higher priced/better constructed/more cushioned etc boots.

I love the look and feel of this boot. Unfortunately, I just found it a bit heavy for what I was looking for. The quality is really good and I have no complaints about the look and feel. just too heavy for me.

To tight fit me. Wish docs would go into the half size world. I can never seem to get consistent sizing to fit my 8.5 size. So frustrating!

Nice boots. they do lighten up in color once you wear them to a more rustic brown. Great so far.

Great except calf too tight and tag rubs back of my leg

This shoe is great. It's like a riding shoe with edge. Note they run large. Had to return for the next size down.

I sized down to 11 from my usual 11.5, they feel like 12's. Very roomy, my foot floats around in there so I have to try inserts because the gunmetal leather creases as soon as you try them on and I had to walk around a bit to realize how huge they were, so it's a bust on returning now. Also paradoxically the ankle is very snug, so I feel like I'm wearing leather bags on my feet taped around the ankles. Really dont love these, but I'm just dealing with it. I may sell them if I can. Definitely try them in a store.

Not waterproof or insulated

Really tight around the shin/top of the boot area. Super uncomfortable.

These are HEAVY! They are quite wide and just generally quite clunky and make my feet look much larger than they are. I rarely choose to wear them. Disappointing.
